The brunch to end all brunches

Hi friends 🙂 Happy Sunday! Hope you’ve had an amazing day so far. Loved reading your wedding snafu stories- they’re always funnier after the fact, right? 😉

We just got back from the brunch to end all brunches 😀

I told ya about this before, but my nana used to own a catering business back in the day and always makes beautiful spreads for family parties. The Pilot was bummed that he had to miss Easter, so my nana did a repeat brunch today in his honor 🙂

We brought flowers for the hostess:

and the donuts that I made last night.

donuts

I was so happy with how cute they turned out!! The chocolate ganache was just melted dark chocolate chips (melted in a double boiler, thinned out with a little almond milk) and topped with sprinkles.

When we got to nana’s house, per usual, she had a bunch of foodgasmic delights waiting for the fam to get there 😀

Egg casserole (my fave!!!) with salsa, ham, bacon and sausage

brunch

Potatoes, apple puff pancake

brunch (2)

(EEK! Blurry photo- sorry!)

Biscuits, butter, cinnamon rolls (<— everything homemade)brunch (3)

Fresh fruit, orange juice, tea and coffee

brunch (4)

The dessert table dreams are made of:

dessert

Italian cream cake, turtle pie, blueberry peach cobbler and the donuts.

Heaven, my friends.

I enjoyed the above plate of egg casserole, fruit, potatoes (+ more potatoes and egg), some cobbler and a donut + orange juice.

Hellooooooo food baby 😀

The best part was spending our Sunday with the familia <3

We’re off to do the errand thang and clean around here (maybe nap too? Heh heh), and then I’m getting a fun new recipe in the dehydrator 🙂

See ya later today!

      my fave 🙂

  19. SAM on May 29, 2011 at 8:19 pm

I read your blog all the time, but was disappointed by this post. Your plate had barely any food on it, not sure it even counts as a meal. You call that a food baby? Do you really think that is a meal that makes you so stuffed? Maybe I am misinterpreting this so please correct me if I am wrong. If I am right, really bad example for the people struggling with EDs.

    • Lisa on May 29, 2011 at 8:33 pm

Toward end of her post she said she had the pictured plate of food plus more casserole, potatoes, cobbler donut and juice.

      • SAM on May 29, 2011 at 8:36 pm

THANKS! I thought she was just listing the items on the plate, oops!

        • Fitnessista on May 29, 2011 at 8:44 pm

i think we all know i like my food 😉

          • SAM on May 29, 2011 at 9:25 pm

            Sorry!

          • Fitnessista on May 29, 2011 at 9:34 pm

            no worries at all 🙂

  20. Maria on May 29, 2011 at 8:26 pm

    Aw, what a sweet post!
I have a questions for you, Gina. I bought the chocolate protein powder from your OpenSky recently and am excited to give it a shot. Can you give me some of your fav ways to use it?!
    TIA!

    • Fitnessista on May 29, 2011 at 8:43 pm

amazeballz, breakfast cookie, smoothies (banana, almond butter, almond milk, sun warrior), protein fluff, perfect protein pancakes and adding it to brownies/cookies 🙂
