The Good Stuff

Hiiiiii 😀 Happy Monday! Hope you’re having an amazing morning.

This morning, I woke up a little earlier,

munched a piece of toast

toast

put on my sneaks, sunscreen, grabbed a water bottle

shoes

and went for a morning walk at Sabino Canyon.

Not a bad way to wake up, eh? 🙂

There were lots of hikers and bikers out this morning and it was so peaceful to be outside instead of on a cardio machine. It’s interesting because whenever I used to go to Sabino Canyon, I would be training for a race, so I’d run to the top and back (cursing the entire time because it’s STEEP) and call it a day. I didn’t get to really appreciate all of the gorgeous scenery. Now that I need to take things a little easier –no more sprinting up death hill right now- it’s forced me to wake up and smell the… cactus a little 😉

When I got home, I munched a chocolaty blueberry smoothie:

smoothie

-almond milk

-frozen organic blueberries

-raw cacao powder

-Sun Warrior

-half a frozen banana

-1/2 t espresso powder

-Stevia

{Sometimes I get asked how I fit all of a smoothie into such a small glass. I don’t. It’s usually about two glasses worth and then I slurp whatever’s left straight out of the Vitamix. Last time the Pilot saw me doing it, he said “That’s not the first time you’ve done that, huh?” haha}

and am about to get crackalackin’ on the to-do list.

-Emails (I’m swimming in emails from the lack of internet for the week of the move. If I haven’t gotten back to you yet, I’m working on it!)

-Meal planning, blog planning and groceries

-Errands

-Weights

-The good stuff: putting our decor where I want it to go- it’s currently scattered around the dining room and living room 😀

decor

We unpacked 3 huge boxes of decor last night and I was scary excited about.

I’ve already found places for some of the things,

flowers

but there’s still a lot of art, candles, centerpieces and photos (!) that need to go up 🙂

wedding

Photos definitely make a house feel more like a home.

I’m off!

See ya later today!
xoxo

Gina

Something to do: Plan an AM walk for tomorrow- it will make the day so much better 🙂

I’m also trying to decide on decor. Will you be posting any pictures of your home once you have everything in place. I’m really looking for some ideas. Any help would be appreciated!

I tried the smoothie and LOVED it! I made a few modifications – strawberries instead of bananas, and didn’t use the stevia. It was soooo good! Keep up the good recipes/food suggestions!

PS – I am so jealous that you saw Louis yesterday!! I loved him x 10283483 on DWTS! I’m so glad to see he’s as awesome in person as he seems to be on tv.

I love unpacking and finding new places for decorations and decor!

I agree that photos make a home a home! I’ve been meaning to get our wedding photos up for about 8 months now. I just can’t seem to find the perfect spot though!

What a gorgeous place for a walk! I took my workout outdoors today too. It was amazing to run alongside the lake instead of on the treadmill.

I have to use a big ol’ honkin’ glass for my smoothies. Typically, banana, flax, spinach, and almond milk.

I was determined to eat a plant-based dinner tonight so I tossed some broccoli slaw w/red pepper hummus. It was good! 😀

I always forget to take in the scenery when I’m running, too! I was just in Utah for a month, where everything is WIDE open. It was a good reminder to look around instead of at the ground the whole time (-:

I thought I was the only one that drank the last drops of smoothie straight from the Vitamix. My smoothies are so good I don’t want any of them to go to waste. 🙂 Luckily I don’t think anyone has seen me do it yet.

That blueberry smoothie looks ridiculously delicous! So vibrant and nutritious and beautiful! 😀 xyx

I am envious of the walk location! Around here (Michigan) it’s flat. Unless I drive about 5 hours north…which seems a tad excessive for a quick cardio session!
