They were telling the truth

I feel NORMAL again 😀

As in, my energizer bunny energy is back, my cravings for salt and vinegar chips, dairy, and Veganaise on everything are gone (veggies are back!), and I don’t feel like I’m on the verge of tossing my gluten-free cookies all day.

Everyone kept saying that the second trimester is amazing and that I’d feel fantastic soon enough.. and as of this past weekend, I still felt gross and was convinced they were all liars. And then I woke up on Sunday feeling like a NEW person. Amazing.

Don’t get me wrong, feeling like death kind of made me happy in a weird way –because I knew things were happening- but to have this little nugget growing inside of me and actually feeling like myself again is incredible.

Congrats! The second trimester seems a little better so far, but I still get tired easily at 25 weeks now.

Best perks: FOOD IS BACK! Baby kicks! Workouts are much easier than in the 1st trimester. Oh, and the bump is REAL!

Worst: After 10 weeks of sleeping on my sides I want nothing more than to sleep on my tummy again & increased bloodflow + water retention + hot weather makes for swollen fingers and ankles. =(

Hopefully your next 15 weeks will go well!

my fingers are already getting swollen :/ can’t wait to sleep face-planted again!!!

Glad you’re feeling like your old self. The first trimester is all about morning sickness and general malaise and the third trimester is just so uncomfortable. The second trimester is the time to really enjoy your pregnancy. Hope it goes well!

That’s awesome Gina, congrats on feeling better again!

I lived on white carbs, white bread, white crackers/saltines, and white pizza crust for about the 1st half of my pregnancy. Anything I could keep down. And fruit. And I am so not a white foods girl usually!

I remember the day when I actually craved veggies and salads again. It was awesome 🙂

Glad your salty & vegenaise (which I still crave, daily…lol) are behind you.

Congrats on rounding the corner 🙂

You lucky lady! My second trimester was worse than my first! The third has definitely been better in terms of sickness but now involves all sorts of pain in areas that I won’t mention here. Ha.

    Being pregnant is tough work!

  14. Amanda on July 5, 2011 at 4:55 am

So glad you’re feeling better!! Soak it up 🙂 … Now at 31 weeks, some discomfort sets back in, like not being able to breathe, but kicks and movements are still the best! Can’t wait for you to feel them!

    Lol! Fantastic! Good news! 😀
It’s really fun reading about your pregnancy experience – I’ve no doubt that I’ll have all these memories – through reading your posts – of what you went through when I have a baby myself, and they’ll be so helpful and reassuring! If that makes any sense at all, lol! xyx

I completely agree! As soon as I hit 14 weeks I started to feel like myself again and actually wanted to eat vegetables. I absolutely loved the second trimester, I hope it treats you very well! Third trimester isn’t so bad, except for being a lot bigger makes it harder to get comfortable, but it’s all worth it in the end 🙂

I think I already gave you this cloth diapers site, not sure, I’ve been recommending it to everyone!! her diapers are so great. Same diaper= infant to toddler! http://www.littleleafdiapers.com

So glad you are feeling better! With my 3rd pregnancy I was sick THE ENTIRE TIME! but you are right, it is so worth it. In the end we get our baby and that’s all that matters!

  30. Leslie on July 5, 2011 at 1:42 pm

  31. April on July 5, 2011 at 2:20 pm

YIPPEE!!!! Isn’t it funny when the things we read and the advice we are given is true? I always find it amusing because i question EVERYTHING, hee hee.

    • Fitnessista on July 5, 2011 at 3:29 pm

i’m right there with ya 🙂

  32. Lisa on July 6, 2011 at 6:45 pm

Yay I’m so glad you feel better; that’s how I was. The sick feeling suddenly went away. I loved the baby’s butterfly kicks then later the hurting kicks! So amazing.

  33. Heather on July 13, 2011 at 11:04 am

Yay! Second trimester was great for me energy wise, although I couldn’t eat any vegetables. The thought of them made me sick! All I craved was cheese and greek yogurt.
