Turn Around

Hey guys 😀 Happy Indian Food Wednesday! How are you celebrating?? I’ll be hitting up the Indian buffet with some friends on a break from work- I can taste the roti already 🙂

Today’s post title was inspired by this epic video:

(Source– sorry for the blurry quality, it was the best version on YouTube)

My heart is an empty void where Glee once was. Season 3, I’m counting the days 😉

Random: Jesse is pretty hawt- he’s got that bad boy thing going on, haha 😉

So does this guy, though:

Yesterday was an odd day.

Our AC decided to randomly call it quitsies in the middle of the sweltering heat. As I type this, it’s a blistering 85 degrees in my house, with every fan we own on. Bonus: I could probably get in a sweet Bikram practice in the comfort of my own home 😉

The air peeps will be here later today to fix it and I. CAN’T. FREAKING. WAIT.

Snafu #2: I accidentally faxed a bunch of super personal information for a contract to the wrong fax number. Apparently when I have no AC, I turn into a space cadet. So some of my evening was spent calling a bajillion people and putting a flag on our accounts to make sure that nothing shady happens.

The night turned around when I met some friends at Charlie Tripper’s for drinks and appetizers 🙂

I chose a vodka with club soda and a splash of cranberry:

The ahi tuna:

and a side of grilled vegetables 😀

‘Twas lovely.

This morning, I’m off to teach an early bootcamp class before pumping some iron and training a client 🙂

See ya after our Indian feast.

xoxo,

Gina

Something to talk about: What is your all-time favorite strength training move?? I’m working on my boot camp ideas for next week and would love to hear your faves, even if it’s in a love-hate way 😉 My favorite has to be the lunge and lift– it definitely gives ya a killer booty and leg workout.

PS- To those of you who wanted to know where I bought the clothes yesterday– sorry, I should have posted that info!- TJ Maxx! For real. It’s one of the best stores in Valdizzy- our TJ Maxx is pretty legit, you just have to be in the mood to treasure hunt 😉

I love TJ Maxx!!1 It is hit or miss where I live but sometimes they have the best finds!!! Sorry about the heat- I hope you get your air fixed soon!

Ugh – the AC was broke at my office a few weeks ago and it was dreadful. It definitely does affect your brain so I blame the little fax mishap on that 100 percent!

My favorite strength training move is side plank twists. They really work your obliques.

Love that you found those tanks at TJMaxx. It is definitely a treasure hunt there. I have a hard time finding good stuff at ours though.

PS-Love that you do Indian food Wed every week. I need me some Indian food.

TJ Maxx is total hit or miss. Some of them are better than others (I live in a city with about three in different directions from my casa that I can visit).

My favorite strength move: chest flies with a hip press between reps

  6. Bliss on June 23, 2010 at 1:39 pm

I love/hate the front to side lunges from SSU2010 – I hate them while doing them but love what they do for my bum. Also, I hate hate hate those burpee things, and there’s not even any love afterwards.

Favorite strength training move is the deadlift. Nothing beats pulling more weight then you weigh off the floor. These legs and glutes are good for something! Although probably not transferable to boot camp with it not really being a high rep sort of thing.

There is nothing worse than a broken a/c in the dead of summer! Ours has been off and on at work and it’s killing me! I hope they get it fixed soon.

    I’m making Indian Food tonight!

My favorite strength training move is probably the lunge. I feel so strong doing them and I always feel it later.

I was looking for that clip from Glee forever!! Thanks for posting it 🙂 and the naan pic is hilarious hahaha

My current favorite move is a jack-knife flye. It is not fun when the air breaks, I was once without for a week in August. Ewww.

  12. AnneNP on June 23, 2010 at 3:10 pm

    Hi Gina,
Love the lunge and lift. However, I do always like to remind people to turn their knees out just a few degrees to help prevent injury, and never to sit tooo deep into your hip to prevent a labral tear! Ive been loving your summer shape up!

I like bicep curls and squats. Glad your night turned around for you! Have fun eating Indian food.

Dude, we have our AC on at 80F degrees right now. I live in southern california, and as of right now our temp is 102F degrees. I’d take 85F ANY DAY.

    Greetings from Santa Barbara!

Love, Love, Love your blog been lurking for a few weeks now! You taught me how to make an egg puff in the microwave and it has changed my @ work breakfasts!! Muah! Muah! Muah!

Prisoner Squats make me think of boot camp everytime I sit down. Favorite work out…anything with a kettle ball…I feel so strong like a gladiator!
