Turtle killer

Hey guys! Sorry I disappeared on ya today! It’s been insane in the membrane but now we are finally in beautiful, civilized Orlando 😀

Last night was a little random.. I got home from work, exhausted, crawled into bed and crashed out at 7pm. I woke up at midnight and decided to make some middle-of-the-night cookies with my newfound energy.

013

I made Vegan oatmeal chocolate chip (from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan) and used half spelt flour and half brown rice flour.

Also, some Carob Peanut Butter Swirl (also from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan)

010

Some on a plate to give to my friend Jeni and also made a container full to take with us to my aunt and cousins in Orlando.

017

I finally made myself go back to bed around 3 and woke up nice and LATE this morning 😀 My sleep schedule has been so out of whack since the dog disaster occurred.

This morning, I woke up to a lovely almond butter and jelly breakfast cookie:

015

It had 1/3 cup oats, 1 scoop sprouted brown rice protein, 1 tbs almond butter, 1 small smashed nanner, vanilla hemp milk, Stevia, cinnamon, sea salt and TJs Superfood Spread.

After devouring the delicious bfast, I hit up the gym for some cardio and abs.

I did 5 miles on the revolving apparatus of death (aka the treadmill) and followed it up with some plie squats, stability hamstring curls, leg extensions, and calf raises on the Pokemon balls.

I came back to the casa, Jeni and her pilot stopped by to pick up their cookies and some tamales, I packed up and we were on the road.

Best little car buddy:

019

I munched a fruit cup from Publizzle while I drove:

018

(and an unpictured Cashew Larabar)

While I was driving, I was chatting with my little bro and a little turtle was crawling across the freeway. I smashed him and immediately started crying on the phone. My brother just laughed at me. I couldn’t swerve or break, so I just drove over him. I’m a turtle killer. I’m very sorry, little turtle and hope you’re in turtle heaven 🙁

We got into Orlando just in time for dinner, so the pilot and I hit up my longtime favorite: Seasons 52

021

I wasn’t really feeling like wine, even though it’s been a week since I drowned myself in guacamole and wine, so I rolled with a Bloody Mary.

026

We started with the tuna tartare with pickled cucumber and a sweet chili glaze:

028

I got the usual lemongrass salmon salad:

031

And the pilot got the crab-stuffed shrimp:

032

When they came by with the desserts, you know we were all over it.

I got the carrot cake:

033

The cream cheese frosting rocks my face off

And the pilot had blueberry cheesecake and Key Lime pie

035

(ow ow!)

I’m not sure what we’re doing for the rest of the night, but I promise shenanigans are ahead 😉

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend and I’ll see ya tomorrow!

xox,

G$

    Aww, Bella!

Enjoy the rest of your night! Stay out of trouble 😉

    Dinner looks fabulous.

I would have cried too if I hit a turtle but it could have been worse if you swerved an hit another car!

  3. Ashley on August 29, 2009 at 11:07 pm

You may not have killed him! Turtle shells are unbelievably hard.

I was following someone on a dark country road who hit a deer. Since I couldn’t swerve on the gravel, I ran it over straight on the neck.

It was awful. I pulled the poor dead buck off the road and bawled my freakin eyes out.

    Have fun tonight!

  4. Morgan on August 29, 2009 at 11:10 pm

I’m sure the turtle is fine. They are surprisingly fast when they need to be. We rescued one the other day, and as we got close in the middle of the street that sucker booked it!

  5. Rebecca on August 29, 2009 at 11:11 pm

Haha I love that you woke up at 12 and started making cookies. That’s totally something I’d do! It’s ok that you hit the turtle! I’m glad that you didn’t swerve and crash your car!!

Finally, cream cheese frosting rocks my face off too!

  6. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on August 29, 2009 at 11:12 pm

All your cookies look fab…the 2 from ED & BV and your brekky AB & J cookie! I lovvvve cream cheese frosting, I used to eat it with a spoon. Since going dairy free though I haven’t indulged and I know I could probably make some with cashew butter but yeah, cream cheese frosting is Divine! Enjoy your shenanigans tonite! Bloody Mary’s are sooo good too when it’s hot out, aren’t they!
P.S. Do you think the cookies would turn out if I used all brown rice flour? I can’t do the gluten in spelt 🙁

im sorry that you ran over that turtle, and also about the problems with the dogs, sometimes things seem to pile up on top of each other. whenever something bad happens it seems to really hit me a week or so later and also in my dreams.

you know how you were having some dreams (bad ones) and you thought maybe it was from wine. and you know how you didnt really feel like any tonight? well maybe your body is telling you not to, i would not want to have bad dreams right now if i were you.take care and use all your support people

  16. Susan on August 30, 2009 at 5:43 am

Ha, I love your term “revolving apparatus of death.” I don’t mind the treadmill THAT much, but I could think of a few similar terms for the stairmaster 😛

Don’t feel bad about the turtle. I’m sure he knew the risk when stepping onto that freeway! 😉

  17. simpledaisy on August 30, 2009 at 7:50 am

Hey Gina, I did breakfast cookie this morning and it was so so good! Oats, flaxmeal, vanilla protein powder, nanner, soy milk, dates, and shredded coconut. I did my wholefoods shopping and bought so many good yummy things but no hemp milk – apparantley it’s illegal in Australia!! Oh well – guess it’s soy for now (almond was a bit exy for my budget). I’m ordering Eat Drink and Be Vegan right now 😀

    • Fitnessista on August 31, 2009 at 9:29 am

hahah it’s illegal in australia?! the pilot won’t go near hemp milk because of that!
so glad you liked it 😀

  42. MizFit on August 31, 2009 at 6:07 am
