Unseasonable

Thank you so much for the Bella well wishes <3

bell (2)

After a day of snuggling, a bland diet of rice and boiled chicken (she LOVED that) and some Pepcic AC (per the vet’s suggestion), she seems to be back to her Bella self.

I loved reading your at-home yoga tips, too- can’t wait to check some of them out!

It’s been a little unseasonable over here… not that I’m complaining- cold and I aren’t exactly friends.

This time last year fountains were freezing into ice sculptures, and yesterday I wore a tank top. I like that.

Since it’s been so warm, I’ve been enjoying some of my favorite cold eats:

New-to-me cereal

cereal

(kind of like GF Grape Nuts, and super filling)

Yogurt

yogurt

and smoothies.

Might need to dust off the Vitamix- it always gets a little break over the winter.

Breakfast: 2 egg-rito with salsa + a cinnamon apple

burrito

and tea 🙂

This morning I’m off to a doc’s appointment (I’ll post what the verdict is on the Family page) and then gym time.

Have a great Friday!

xoxo

  2. LisaG on January 6, 2012 at 10:52 am

Hope your appointment goes well. I don’t remember any pain from them, just uncomfortable.

  3. Michelle on January 6, 2012 at 10:52 am

Your egg combo looks delish! I use gluten free brown rice wraps and I can seem to fold them! They break instantly! Any suggestions/tips?

    • Fitnessista on January 6, 2012 at 10:54 am

do you warm them up in the microwave first?

      • Michelle on January 6, 2012 at 10:57 am

        Yes for about 30 seconds

    • Julie (A Case of the Runs) on January 6, 2012 at 11:15 am

I seem to have that problem, too! Slow wrapping or fast, warm or cold.

      • Nicole on January 6, 2012 at 4:57 pm

What brand do you guys like? They were always so dry and crackly that I gave up on GF tortillas all together.

  4. Suzanne on January 6, 2012 at 10:53 am

aw, sweet face! Poor little thing.
Our vet told us to give Chubs the exact same remedy when she had tummy issues.
There was one time (and ONLY TIME!) we tried the flea medication you put on the neck. She got violently ill, because she had reached around and licked it all off!
Glad Bells is on the mend. <3

Woah, that’s what I call green…Love the color!

Must try one soon! Only had great things about it!

  6. Brittany @Little b's healthy habits on January 6, 2012 at 10:56 am

I’ve just started doing green smoothies and I love them!

  7. Kim on January 6, 2012 at 10:56 am

Glad Bella is better! The vet told me to give my dog pepcid AC also! Good luck at the doc!

Glad Bella is doing better! I kept checking for a post this morning wondering if maybe there wouldn’t be one and you’d be in labor. Maybe tomorrow. 🙂

Good luck at the Dr. Yummy looking eats!!

I pronounce 95% of those words wrong, hahahahahaha. Welcome to Massachusetts, where we create our own language. Don’t even get me started on the ridiculous accents we have that completely alter words!

Ah, can’t wait to hear what the doctor says!

Question re: the pomegranate seeds in your yogurt- do you buy whole ones and cut them open and pluck out the seeds? That process seems so daunting to me and I’m wondering if there’s an easier way.

I cannot believe you are still gymbound. You are so awesome.

    Good luck at the doctor!

It has been unseasonable here in Missouri, too! Last year we were snowed in with a blizzard…literally…my car was nearly buried, and this week it has been in the 60s! Kind of crazy, but I’m loving it!

  14. Katie on January 6, 2012 at 11:13 am

Glad little Bella is doing better, its not fun when a pet is sick.

So excited for your doctor appointment today! Can’t wait to hear the update!

    Happy Friday! <3

Your egg-rito’s always look so delicious. Mine usually turn in a broken sloppy mess lol. I think I need to learn a better folding technique. Good luck with your doc appt. today!

Do you drink yogi tea too?! It’s my newest obsession, love the taste as well as the little pick me up quotes it gives me every morning

Oooooh I am excited for the dr’s news!! Crossing my fingers for ya!

And I think its so awesome that you are still exercising…even on your due date!!! Thats dedication!

  29. Jill on January 6, 2012 at 1:24 pm

I’ve had that cereal – very crunchy. Good with yogurt, nut butter, fruit, and a couple eggs on the side. There is a Crunchy Rice version too that might be interesting.

Glad Bella is back to normal and who knew that Pepcid works for dogs! I know that pediatricians will prescribe it for babies with acid reflux. I guess it’s a universal product 🙂

  31. Paula @ lipstick and lunges on January 6, 2012 at 1:47 pm

I’m so glad Bella is feeling better! It’s so scary when your fur baby is sick because they can’t tell you whats wrong. Have a great weekend!

I love tea-bag quotes 🙂 Yogi tea right?? What are you favorite flavors??? I LOVE Bedtime Caramel & Egyptian Licorice. If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly suggest them 🙂

  33. Kath on January 6, 2012 at 2:32 pm

wow…had no idea it’s “for all intents and purposes” as opposed to “all intensive purposes” but the correct one makes so much more sense haha, thank you!

  34. Alycia on January 6, 2012 at 3:07 pm

We’ve got unseasonable weather here in Wisconsin too. January is usually our coldest and snowiest month, but we are enjoying a balmy 45 degrees today! I know it won’t last forever, but I’ll take what I can get. I’m not really a fan of the cold either!

  35. Liz @ Tip Top Shape on January 6, 2012 at 4:17 pm

It’s been pretty warm in Chicago, too. It’s in the 50s today!

  36. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on January 6, 2012 at 6:33 pm

It’s oddly warm here too! I had to switch from my big winter coat to a lighter spring coat today. It’s not tank top weather or anything, but I’ll take it! I hate the winter. 😛

  37. Lauren @ Fun, Fit and Fabulous! on January 6, 2012 at 7:18 pm

I hope our appointment goes well!! That cereal looks delicious and perfect for mixing in yogurt!
