What I’m Thinking

-Who needs house fragrance when you have Meyer Lemon Lavender macaroons?

(Keep those giveaway entries coming!)

-I bought cereal, which is a rarity, because I could eat half a bowl or the entire box and feel the same. It IS delicious, though.

cereal

I chose this type because it’s gluten-free and has the word “Mesa” on the packaging. Mesa is in Arizona so I figured it was logical.

It’s almost gone.

-Every time I’m on campus passing out DT fliers and free passes, the urge to go back to school is more intense than ever.campus

I still can’t decide if I want to finish my MBA to actually use it, or just so that I *have* it.

While I’m there, people often ask me how classes are going. It’s nice to pretend I’m still a student 😉

-They say you don’t really fall in love until you have children,

but I don’t think it’s possible to love a small thing more than Bella.

-The fact that I’m going to see the Pilot again soon is making me nervous.

I’ve been dealing with my emotions by buying shoes.

(I’ll wear them ALL summer!)

-The thought of the “I haven’t seen you in more than 6 months” hug is already giving me butterflies…

I know that feeling of being nervous to see someone you love and haven’t seen FOREVA. Last year around this time my fiance and I were separated while he did a semester in Guatemala. At the end of his stay, I flew down to see him. I was SO nervous. I had visions of jumping into his arms, but I was so flooded with different emotions that when I saw him for that first moment I just froze. He likes to tease me about how “cold” I was to him after all those months 🙂

It’s an exciting time though…and I’m excited for you to be reunited. Happy Friday!

I remember those “butterflies in the stomach” kind of feeling. It’s fun but nerve-wrecking in a “make me sick” kind of way. I’m excited for you. You guys look adorable!

That Julia Glass book – “I See You Everywhere”- is SO GOOD! All of her books are fabulous, I think you’d really like them.

The lavender lemon macaroons sound so delicious! I’m spoiled by your roonies, and have been eating them every day. Did the quackers show up? I was nervous because I think it coincided with your move…

You are so wise to ask yourself this question: “I still can’t decide if I want to finish my MBA to actually use it, or just so that I *have* it.”

I wish I had asked myself that question and really thought hard about it. I got my ph.d. in ed, and it was something I’d said for years I wanted to do, so I went for it. Ended up hating the experience, didn’t listen to my intuition, stuck it out, and now… not even using it. This doesnt’ mean that that would be your story- my best friend I met at grad school is now a prof and LOVES it. But I feel I didn’t really enter grad school with a clear sense of what I would do with the degree, so it’s a worthy question to ponder. Good luck with your decision. And congrats on your upcoming reunion!

The first post-deployment hugs are THE BEST! OMG I loved that hug. Ha. Well, and all the hugs after it but…. whew, the first one is incredible.

    Good luck finding a dress!!

  15. Danielle on March 4, 2011 at 8:04 pm

Yay! I spent forever picking out my outfit and it all changed last minute because Tennessee got snow and sleet! A few ladies were braving the ice on the flight line in heels though.

I love the dresses at Anthro right now, especially these two

Just some thoughts about going back to school…my husband decided to do this 2 years ago (he’s in a 4 year program). We are in our late twenties. He works full time and is in school full time. It is extremely hard! Just make sure you give it a lot of thought before diving in. In the end, I guess you have to do what makes you happy!

I don’t know if you can share this, but when is the Pilot getting back? It must be VERY soon! 😀

  18. Aisha on March 5, 2011 at 7:21 pm

Hey, I have been reading your blog for at least the past 3 years and I don’t think I have ever commented, but everytime you mention your pilot it tugs at my heart and just makes me want to tell you that I think you are amazing and a real role model to me in terms of not only fitness but life and loving what you are given and working hard to get what you truly want, so thank you for writing this blog and inspiring a 22 yr old girl in London, UK to be the best person she can be.

    • Fitnessista on March 5, 2011 at 11:01 pm

Hey, I’m glad my comment brightened your day, I have something else to make you happy, a few weeks late but whatever, you can make breakfast cookies using buckwheat flakes instead of oats so they can be gluten free!
