Hey everyone!!! Happy Friday!

I’m not sure if ya’ll know, but November is National Pomegranate Month!

I’ve already done a little bit of celebrating 😉

pomtinisss

and was a little more than stoked to see these items from POM on my doorstep yesterday

Love me some POM 😀

To kick off national pomegranate month, the lovely people at POM Wonderful have generously offered to give 3 Fitnessista readers each a CASE of POM juice!!!!!

You have two chances to win:

  1. Leave a comment here to let me know how you’d use your POM juice—in a POMtini like yours truly, a smoothie, soup, marinade or any recipe you’ve conjured up
  2. Tweet “I want to win @POMonline juice from @fitnessista”

I’ll pick 3 winners via random number generator and the winners will be announced Monday morning around 8AM EST.

Ready…. set… go!

  2. Jordan @ Salt Sweat Sugar on November 6, 2009 at 9:10 am

Yeah, the first thing that came to my head, too, was using it in a sauce. Perhaps on a steak. Something savory, for sure. Mmmmm.

  3. Carmen on November 6, 2009 at 9:11 am

Oooh I’ve been wanting to try it in my green monsters. A little tart would do it wonders, I think. Thanks!

  4. Gabriela on November 6, 2009 at 9:12 am

I’ll fess up and admit I’ve only ever tried it to drink, so I’d love to experiment with other uses…espescially POMtinis and in sweet treats!

  5. Carly on November 6, 2009 at 9:13 am

  9. Katie on November 6, 2009 at 9:15 am

Usually I use it in smoothies, but seeing as it is Friday anything with “-tini” at the end is sounding good!

  22. Jean on November 6, 2009 at 9:31 am

Okay, I have to admit that I’ve never tried it, so I don’t know what I would do with it! But with a whole case, I’m sure that I could come up with lots of different things to use it.

  23. Shannon on November 6, 2009 at 9:34 am

I make a wonderful pomtini in a “Carrabas” kind of way, POM juice, splash of orage juice, shot of peach vodka & splash of diet sprite in the bottom of the glass and it is WONDERFUL! Love POM juice!!!! 🙂

  24. Lisa on November 6, 2009 at 9:36 am

I think I would make a POM sorbet; also a POM salad dressing for Thanksgiving.

  25. Molly @thevegandorm on November 6, 2009 at 9:36 am

I would love to use Pom in baking (vegan Pomegranate blondies, vegan Pomegranate shortcake).

  26. Julie @savvyeats on November 6, 2009 at 9:37 am

I love to drink it by itself, or in a green monster!

    I also tweeted about this: http://twitter.com/savvyeat !!

  28. Rebecca on November 6, 2009 at 9:38 am

hmmm, in a smoothie, or maybe try something new and attempt to make a salad dressing out of it!

  29. Julie on November 6, 2009 at 9:38 am

Ohhh…the pomsicle idea is great! My kids love when I do homemade juice sicles. I’m thinking I would try to make up some type of salad dressing mixture.

  30. Kate on November 6, 2009 at 9:39 am

I love pom juice mixed with OJ! Maybe used in a smoothie?

  31. Tavolini on November 6, 2009 at 9:40 am

I would use it in a salad dressing (pomegranate vinaigrette), reduce and use it in a glaze (tofu for me, over pork for Tavo), and of course I would mix it with a little rum and some fresh fruit 😉

  32. Lauren on November 6, 2009 at 9:42 am

I would LOVE to win POM juice. I would use it to make an awesome martini like you or definitely in a salad dressing!!!

  33. Lauren on November 6, 2009 at 9:43 am

  34. Kyle on November 6, 2009 at 9:44 am

Great giveaway! I’d love to try it in a Pom-tini! Also, I wonder if it could be added to baked goods somehow . . . pomegranate bread?

  35. Jennifer Honess on November 6, 2009 at 9:45 am

I made a beef stew with POM & red wine – sounds crazy, but it was absolutely delish!!

  38. Ashlee on November 6, 2009 at 9:51 am

I absolutely loooove POMtinis! But, on days that I don’t want to drink alcohol (and during the lunchtime hour), I like to make POM mocktails; POM juice and sparkling water. Mmmm…love it! But, I would love to try it in some desserts and dishes.

  39. teresa on November 6, 2009 at 9:52 am

Ooh I’d use it in my watermelon soup recipe. A sort of dessert soup, if you will!

  40. Mel on November 6, 2009 at 9:52 am

Pomtinis!!!! I also want to experiment with baking with POM!

  41. Danielle on November 6, 2009 at 9:53 am

    Definitely POM-tini, all the way!!!

  42. Kim on November 6, 2009 at 9:55 am

I’ve never had pom juice, but I think I would love it in smoothies, mixed with sparkling water, straight up, or maybe mixed in pancake batter (that could be a big fail but could also turn out delicious!).

  43. Kristin @ Iowa Girl Eats on November 6, 2009 at 9:55 am

This may sound lame – but I would drink mine straight up! I have NEVER had POM juice, and I am dying to try some!

  44. Lauren on November 6, 2009 at 9:56 am

I would love to add the juice to my smoothies…yum!!

  48. AmyJoGo on November 6, 2009 at 9:58 am

We made a POM sorbet a couple years ago for Thanksgiving. It was great! I’d like to recreate that recipe with a few tweaks of my own. Maybe also something like a POM gelatin. POM juice as a ham glaze rather than pineapple or orange juice. OR throw some POM arils into the cornbread dressing for some tangy goodness.

  49. Katie on November 6, 2009 at 9:58 am

    Definitely some mocktails:)!!!

  50. Laura S on November 6, 2009 at 9:58 am

Great Giveaway!! I would love to try your pomtini or maybe try a pom-margarita!!
