  2. Courtney on February 11, 2010 at 11:30 pm

I live in the hot Arizona desert where I get dehydrated VERY easy! I try to drink at least 5 water bottles a day but still seem to get dizzy and sluggish. Sadly I am not retaining the water enough and have heard that Chia seeds do a very good job at keeping you hydrated by holding the water inside of your body. I’d really like to try them and see how this works! I also eat oatmeal every morning so I’d love to try them as an add on!

Chai pudding for breakfast – for sure!

  4. Katheryn on February 11, 2010 at 11:31 pm

I haven’t had them before, but I think I’d love to try them in my breakfast cookie or my morning oats.

  5. Cassandra on February 11, 2010 at 11:32 pm

I like to sprinkle chia seeds on salads with spinach, tuna, and Annie’s Papaya dressing. Works wonders at 9000 feet above Colorado Springs for looong mountain bike rides! And keeping up with 8th graders all day.

  6. ida on February 11, 2010 at 11:32 pm

I’d love to try chia seeds in my morning smoothie!

  7. megan on February 11, 2010 at 11:32 pm

I love Chia seeds! My brother, sister-in-law and I all eat them now after reading Born to Run. I love to put them in smoothies (banana, almond milk, spinach, blueberries) and make the “chia fresca” mentioned in the book where you make the gel with water and chia and add some fresh lime juice. With a 2lb bag, I would definitely be trying to force them onto all my friends, too. 🙂

  8. Ashley on February 11, 2010 at 11:34 pm

Definitely the chia pudding!! I have had the recipe saved on my favorites list for months but haven’t been able to make it yet 🙂

  9. Emily on February 11, 2010 at 11:34 pm

Since my boyfriend has been vegan for over 10 years, its hard to serve crazy and new dishes that would inspire him! But, I want to try making vegan mac and cheese w/ chia seeds in it. We could carb up on a cold winter night and then go for an 8 mile run the next morning using the chia seeds for spurts of endurance!

Smoothies!!!! I make green smoothies every morning for breakfast, and I currently use flax seeds in them. Chia seeds would be an extra boost to start off my day! Unfortunately, I’m a broke college student and can’t afford chia seeds. :[

I would definitely first make the pudding and then I discovered the green and crunchy blog, and there’s a ton of stuff that I would also like to try – and Ch-Ch-Chia seeds go into everything :-).

  48. Jessica on February 12, 2010 at 12:34 am

I just bought my first container of them and I am having fun trying to find new ways to use them. I love how light and crunchy they are so I add them to my yogurt/granola/fruit combo. I also love them in smoothies. I have to give the pudding a try next.
