Hi Gina! I am looking to start a blog of my own and love the layout of yours! What website did you go to in order to start your blog? Any tips on getting started on a first blog? Thanks so much! Much love, Chelsey
thank you!! wordpress is a great place to start. i actually wrote an ebook with all of my blogging tips in one spot. hoping to have it up here (on this page) in the next week!
Newsletter sign up pls!
Since the blog redesign (I love it!) I can’t see anything on this page except for the comments no matter what browser I use. Any thoughts as to why?
this page hasn’t been activated yet. sorry about that! i’m still trying to get everything together.xo
hi!! taking a trip to CA and will be spending a few days in the san diego area. i would LOVE to try and make it to a class or two of yours. is this where i can keep watch for where/when you’re teaching? i’ve been reading for years, so i have to ask!!
send me an email for when you’ll be here and i’ll get you the info for that week!
Hi! Love your site, just found it recently and love all the suggested workouts and inspiration.
Just wanted your opinion. Every time I start a workout routine, I feel guilty. Usually what happens is I’ll start and think, ok, I’m trying to drop weight, so I’ll focus on cardio. But then, a few weeks in, I’ll feel guilty that I’m not getting in enough strength training, so I’ll start doing P90x for a while. And then I’ll go right back to feeling bad about not doing enough cardio. I do want to drop about 30 lbs, but I also want to be strong, not just focus on the scale.
I know you have your monthly workout suggestions posted. What are your thoughts on how often someone looking to drop some weight should do cardio vs strength training? Do you think just doing P90x alone would be enough?
Thanks so much for your thoughts on this!
hi! welcome to the blog and thank you for saying hi 🙂
i would do 30 minutes of cardio most days of the week, alternating intensities. 2-3 days of strength thrown in there (circuit training, non consecutive days) and 1-2 days of active recovery/rest.
hope this helps a little bit! i have not tried p90x, so sorry i can’t give you more advice on that. i have p90x3, and didn’t find it to be an ideal workout for me
xo
I would like to get some new workout ideas/plans and some new recipes!
Here’s another hilarious read on a man’s perspective on Barre. It also has strong language, but SO FUNNY! I had tears in My eyes. I’ve been sharing it with everyone who liked the one you posted.

Just discovered your site.
nice to meet you!!
I need to lose weight. I hope you can help me. Thank you.
HI Gina, I just moved to San Diego and would love to come to a class you are teaching. Can you let me know where you teach?
Thanks!
Kelly
i teach at two places. are you feeling barre, bodypump, spin or zumba?
I will start with body pump or spin! I’ve never tried barre or Zumba, but I want to!
[…] been checking out http://fitnessista.com/work-out-with-me/ and I think I’m going to give it a go starting from tomorrow, wish me […]
Would love to get newsletter / fitness plans!
I would also like to receive the fitness plans if you still have them available. My twins are 7 months old now, but I’m struggling getting back to my “before baby” body. It’s not so much the weight, but the new SHAPE. Because I had twins and only gained 20lbs by delivery (I was VERY active during pregnancy) and was already 40 week “size” at 28 weeks, but made it to a full 38 weeks, I tore my abdominal rectus sheath and wasn’t allowed to do any belly exercises for a few months post partum. Now I feel it’s harder to make progress. 🙁
Gina,
You may have this information somewhere on your blog, so please forgive me if it is obvious, but I was wondering how to calculate calories burned in a circuit workout. I know there are tons of calorie counters all over the web, but I have not yet discovered one where you can put in specific activities such as burpies or jumping jacks or planks, etc. Do you know of such a resource, or do you generalize the activity as cardiovascular and use the total time spent? I’m just looking for a general idea of how many calories I am burning doing a HIIT-type circuit workout.
Thanks for any help/information you can provide.
Hi Gina,
I’m signing up for the newsletter. I think I’m already registered
but I didn’t receive the March workout plans, so am re-signing!
Thanks so much.
Hi Gina,
If your still looking for postpartum moms interested in a fitness plan, I’m interested, but my daughter is almost 16 weeks. I am a mom of 3!! I started working out and trying to get healthy about 3 weeks ago. I have never really worked out before, but I’m dedicated. Time to get healthy. I am working out with my husband in the gym (just started last week) for strength training, and I have been running. I have not ran since I was in the USAF but I started with a 1.5 miles on the track or 30 minutes on the elliptical, last week I bumped it up to 2 miles.
hi! i’m still putting everything together and won’t have them ready until summer.
so awesome to hear you’re getting back in the swing of things! congratulations on your family too <3
xoxo
Oh ok. Thanks!!
Hi!
Not sure if you’re still looking for post partum mommas but I am due July 7 with baby 2! I would definitely be interested in this program!
Thanks!
Kathleen
perfect! i will be emailing you 🙂
Great!! Is there a protein shake you recommend during pregnancy? Not sure of a good/safe brand
Hey Gina!
If you’re still looking for participants, I’m due May 13 and would be super interested!
Love, love, love your website – It’s been so helpful pre-pregnancy and during!
Thanks,
Jayci
amazing! i will definitely be emailing you!
Hi Gina,
If you’re still looking for expectant mothers…I am due in June with my first!! I would absolutely love a post partum fitness plan to follow! I’ve been following your blog for a few years and have always loved it. My goal was to stay active throughout my pregancy but apparently my body had other ideas in mind haha and unfortunatley I have had to stay fairly inactive or else I would get incredibly sick! It makes it that much more of priority to me to get back to the healthy and active lifestyle after baby!
Hey Gina! Would love to sign up for your newsletter and gets access to your workout calendars. I put on the “Newlywed 20” as I am calling it and want to lose the weight slow and steady!
Thanks!
Stacey
Hi Gina! I sent you an email with the subject ‘Post Baby Bod’ a few weeks back – just following up here if you still need new mamas! I am due July 2nd and very interested. I’ve participated in your WSU’s and SSU’s in the past – would love to see what you have put together. Thanks for all you do 🙂
yes, i got it! sorry i haven’t responded to all of the emails yet- i’ve received way more than i thought i would and am still sorting through everything. your due date is definitely in the range i’m looking for, so count on getting the plan by mid june! (you’ll start when baby is 6 weeks ish) congratulations to you!!
No worries at all! Thanks for the quick response, thanks for considering me! Can’t wait to see what you put together – and congrats to you as well 🙂
Hi! I have been a dedicated reader for 4 years now. I love your blog and find so much food and fitness inspiration here. I am commenting with a question. Would you ever make a personalized work out plan? And also what might you charge for services like this? I am looking for a simple, beginner, full body workout that requires minimal equipment. A family member had a recent serious health scare. He is now doing okay, but it has been a wake up call.
Thanks so much!
hi katie,
thank you so much for reading for so long! i tried doing online training for a little while, but i didn’t have the time to do it how i imagined. instead, i’m focusing on more general plans. the HTP intro to iron pumping plan might be a good fit for you! summer shape up is on the way too <3
Thank you so much! I will definitely look into that plan. And I am excited about summer shape up also! That might be a great plan to share with my family. A little kick start! Thank you again for this little blog. All the best <3
I saw this awhile ago, before you announced your pregnancy and wasn’t sure if it was up to date. I too am pregnant with baby number two, due Oct 8. If you still are looking for more people to partake in your fitness plan, I’m very interested! I’m a 36 vegetarian. I work out 5-6 days a week – some type of light cardio (walk, elliptical) and weight train three days a week. My husband is a personal trainer, so I’m lucky to have access to a lot of great equipment when I can’t make it to the gym. I can’t wait to see what kind of postnatal fitness plan!
I’m due late nov, will you be doing this again? I’d love to join in!
Cant Wait!!!

Hi Gina, I’ve been looking for webpages for the last couple of weeks about health and wellness, and of course I’ve stumbled upon yours. You definitely lead quite the life—I haven’t seen a longer list of certs yet, and beautiful girls by the way.
I’m launching a mobile app in March and I’m hoping to find those who would find the app promising, and might want to write a quick word on it. The pre-launch webpage is at http://www.wailings.org)

Hi Gina! Love your blog. I am expecting now and am due in July. I haven’t been able to exercise due to some complications 🙁 It stinks! I am excited for your post baby bod routine for when I can get back into it!
Hi Gina,
Love the blog! Do you still accept guest posts, I would love to write a great piece for your readers.
Let me know!
Gina-Thank you thank you thank you for being so transparent about all of your struggles with postpartum recovery. I had a niggling feeling that something wasn’t “right” after my son was born, and hearing your story gave me justification to demand a referral to a urogynecologist when my son turned 6 months (after a 3rd degree tear, hematoma and a summer of pelvic floor PT). Now at 8.5 months postpartum, I finally have a plan in place to fix tearing, stitching and prolapse that my current doctor categorized as “catastrophic”. I was cleared to workout at 14 weeks postpartum, and loved the beginning of PBB. I had to stop at 6 weeks due to pain/discomfort, but I have a surgery date set for Feb. 14th and a projected 6-8 week recovery. I could sit around and feel sorry for myself until then, but I’ll never forget your outlook before your two surgeries this year. You chose to go into them feeling strong, not sluggish. I plan to eat like a PRO, walk and complete the more gentle workouts of PBB and modify the Winter Shape Up 2017 until my surgery day! Then, once I’m cleared to workout, I can’t WAIT to complete PBB and PBB advanced. I know I’ll get my body back eventually, and I know that your blog and workouts will be here for me when I’m ready. Anyway, long and rambling story short, thank you for your help and resources. It means the world to know I’m not alone in my struggles. I’m forever indebted!!`
