T-Town Vacay Part Dos
Hey guys! Hope youโre having a wonderful Saturday ๐
The theme of this trip so far has been food baby. Iโve been eating so much delicious food!!! *Sigh* I love it here!
Last night we dined at the incredible La Parrilla Suiza. Weโve been eating there since I was a younginโ and the familia knows a lot of people that work at the restaurant. (Last La Parrilla experience was here).
I decided to start the night out right with a Bloody Mary:
(Do you see the asparagus in the background?!? Hahaha, more to follow on that!)
It was just what el doctor ordered ๐
The pilot and I, being goofballs as usual:
I was pretty much ravenous, so I snacked on salsa AND chips (usually I just eat the salsa and leave a chip pile) and got two green corn tamales with no cheese, and some frijoles with no cheese:
I really need to learn how to stop wasting food:
After I was stuffed to the gills, us girls went to see Julie and Julia while the boys watched G.I. Joe. Our movie was FANTASTIC while theirs was not so good. Sorry boys ๐
This morning, I woke up bright and early for a spa appointment and grabbed some fruit as we left the hotel:
After that, we met up with everyone at The Good Egg โwhich I refer to as the Very Delicious Egg– for bfast. (Last time we had Good Egg: here!)
I ordered the veggie omelet with no cheese or sour cream, egg whites only, cooked in spray instead of oil (with a smile on my faceโฆ servers are always nicer about interesting orders if you smile at them):
And a double garden salad instead of the potatoes and english muffin, no cheese, balsamic on the side:
It was pure bfast perfection ๐
I even had something I havenโt had in over two months: COFFEE!! I still havenโt caught up from our crazy flight here (even though Iโve gotten enough sleep, I still feel weird) and that caffeine jolt made me feel human again.
After bfast, we went to one of my favorite shopping spots:
The pilot found a comfy chair to lounge in:
And I found a bottle of wine thatโs juuust my sizeโฆ
Iโm about to take a little nappy so I can hang tonight, meeting up with some friends at Bizzle, going to daddooโs for dinner, and then OUT. Shenanigans will ensueโฆ.
Have a great day <3

Look like ur having a TON of fun! I have been on a HUGE egg kick, except I eat mine with cream cheese :S
It looks like you guys are having such a blast! I'm glad you enjoyed Julie and Julia, I can't wait to see it!!!
Haha I always love the faces that you and The Pilot make ๐
I can't believe they actually made your eggs with spray! – I've never asked for that before. Usually when I ask for no oil or butter they just ignore me :/ I'll definitely try that next time!
Love it all!! I adored Julie & Julia (my hubs and his friend thought G.I.Joe had bad acting? "Just terrible! Awful!" were their outtakes).
What was with the asparagus in the background??
I love making ridiculously specific orders at restaurants and seeing the server's reaction. Most of the time it's annoyed. lol
My boyfriend said GI Joe was the worst movie he has ever seen. The worst. I'm so glad I didn't go with him!
Looks like you're having a blast so far!!
What a great idea to take a nap before a late night, I never think to do that, then I fall asleep at 10:00 like an old lady!!
sounds like a fun night out with the pilot ๐ totally jealous you got to see julie & julia
Yay, I love World Market too, something we actually have here in KY!
Looks like you are having a great time, I love reading your trip posts the most, haha. Enjoy!
I'm so glad to hear you liked the movie! I saw a review in the paper that wasn't so great… but what do the critiques know anyway? ๐
Enjoy the rest of your trip!!!
wow that wine bottle is huggge!! I'd be afraid if I asked for all those things in restaurants around here they would prolly spit in my food or something to that affect lol..bad.
Oh gosh I lurve frijoles!!! What a delicious din din. Glad Julie and Julia was good- I cannot wait to see it. Enjoy the rest of your trip
I am in love with that wine bottle. I want to go to World Market and bring one home with me. Just for my personal use.
Pilot shops like the perfect husband: waiting patiently in the chair! Glad you had a java jolt and felt human again…I totally know that feeling. Enjoy your Sat. night!
I miss World Market, they closed all the stores here in MN!
I've never gotten tamales before, and yours looks freaking amazing!!!
That wine bottle is awesome! We had one in college. I wish I could find it again!
"And I found a bottle of wine thatโs juuust my sizeโฆ"
I <3 you :o) I want to buy one of those gigantic bottles next time we are both in AZ! You and the Pilot are a lot like me and Bobby in terms of the goofiness. Life is so much more fun that way, no?
I really want to see Julie and Julia – so glad you liked it! Have a great time in T-Town! I saw Mara today and she told me that you're coming back through Chi…I hope it works this time around – text me if you're going to have some layover time!
I always create my own menu at the Good Egg. they are always so nice about it. I always start off "are you ready for this!" then I create me menu haha.
Sounds like a good time with good eats! You guys are so cute together too ๐
Looks like you're having a fun time! Love the wine bottle ๐
You are so cute with that wine bottle! haha And the faces you and Pilot make are just too funny!
Looks like your having a super fun time–friends, food, and fam; you got it all ๐

Gina,
So glad you're having such a wonderful time…I knew there would be a breakfast at The Good Egg somewhere in your T-Town advenutres.
La Parrilla Suiza looks so good – chips included of course. ๐
I'm dying to see Julie and Julia, but I don't think I'm going to be able to talk Christian Dior into that one!
Enjoy the rest of your trip. Always love seeing pictures of you and the Pilot. They never fail to make me smile.
It seems like the coffee was much-needed! I'm glad that you liked Julie & Julia… I'm going to see it today and I anticipate that I'll come home and feel the need to cook. ๐
All of that mexican food looks so deicious and fresh! I love it.
Have fun in Az.
yumm! your dinner looks absolutely delicious!
my husband and i both enjoyed julie and julia as well. i'm so glad we chose that over g.i. joe after seeing all of the comments.
Didn't you love Julie and Julia?? My husband was way bored but I've sat through enough of his stupid movies that he definitely owed me. Ha ha!
