Friday Faves 2.23
Hi friends! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? The kids are on Rodeo break – itโs an Arizona thing!- so weโre enjoying sleeping in, fun adventures, and no homework (bless it). Iโd love to hear what you have going on!
Iโm on Day 5 of the CBO protocol and chugging along. Itโs been very hard to live without garlic and onions, but Iโve been making lots of amazing veggie and protein-packed meals, in addition to the supplements. Iโm going to be sharing my healing journey in an upcoming post; if you have any questions youโd like me to answer, please lmk in the comments!
Itโs time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something youโre loving in the comments section below.
Friday Faves 2.23
Random/life:
A little getaway to San Diego. The Pilot and I spent just over 24 hours in one of our favorite places for our good friend Jeremyโs 50th birthday. Weโve been friends with Betsy and Jeremy since Liv was in preschool and theyโve become like family. Weโve traveled all over with them, and will often meet up in various spots. We flew into San Diego on Saturday morning
and went straight to Liberty Station. We shopped, walked around, and got an awesome lunch at Tender Greens. We hung out at the hotel and then got ready for the party!
(While we were getting ready, we watched the John Mulaney special on Netflix. It was such a treat to watch Tv, together, during the day.)
The party was amazing, as expected. Betsy always has the best decor and an incredible spread. Chef Ron and his team were in the kitchen preparing all of the food, and they had a bartender on the patio mixing signature cocktails and drinks.
dress is here // shoes here // purse from RTR
(I did a poll on IG to see if the Pilot should shave his mustache. 300+ people said YES, while about 16 said he should keep it. Those 16 people were enough to tell him to keep it around haha)
It was a very late, super fun night, and somehow I dragged my booty out of bed for a Sunday Lagree class at Define.
If youโre in San Diego, take a class with Carina! We used to teach barre together when we lived in SD, and sheโs super fun and motivating. I love seeing her face and visiting her gorgeous studio whenever weโre in town!
We got breakfast at Liberty Station – we didnโt leave Point Loma the entire time – and then headed to the airport to make our way back to the crew. Itโs wild how just one night can make you feel like a human again and so refreshed.
Read, watch, listen:
Just started this and itโs already living up to the hype.
Donโt forget to check out this weekโs podcast with Angie Lee!
How admitting your weakness can actually make you stronger.
Fashion + beauty:
SUPER excitingย Beautycounter launch coming next week. I havenโt been posting as much about Beautycounter lately because I havenโt been as excited about the new products. Iโve been waiting years for this to arrive, and itโs going to be GOOD.
It feels like spring this week, so of course I have my eye on some spring finds. I havenโt been loving the RTR selection as much lately, so Iโll likely pause for a while and shop for real instead ๐
Here are some of the things I have my eye on:
This dress with sandals or dressed up for date nights
Fitness, health, and good eats:
New rebounder! Iโve been wanting one for a while to help support my lymphatic system and found this inexpensive one on Amazon. It was super easy to set up and itโs fun to play music and jump for 5-10 minutes. As expected, itโs a huge hit with the kids, too.
You need to try the best gluten-free brownies.
I appreciate this bit of scienceย especially since women usually get the short end of the stick on these things.
Happy Friday, friends!
xoxo
Gina
The neck on your dress & the neckline of your friendโs is amazing!!!!!
thank you!!
Wow, it sounds like you had an incredible weekend getaway to San Diego! It’s always refreshing to spend time in a favorite place with good friends, especially celebrating special occasions like Jeremy’s 50th birthday. The party sounds like it was a blast, and those signature cocktails and delicious food must have been amazing!
Hi Gina! Iโm very interested in the CBO protocol. Especially the diet instructions. Iโd like to know what Iโm getting into prior to purchasing it but canโt seem to find an example online. Also. Is it imperative to get the lab testing done first? I guess if you want to see specific numbers, but Iโm assuming if one has the symptoms that the protocol will help anyway.
Thanks!
Hi Christina,
I wouldn’t recommend doing this one without testing. (I think the Para protocol and detox can be done without any testing.) This way we can see which markers are elevated. You may need to a modified protocol, or add in citricial drops. I wouldn’t do it without knowing for sure what your body needs. Please let me know if you’d like to explore testing options!
Also, we can’t post the full meal guidelines online. The sensitive gut guide is similar to the detox guidelines, but no onion or garlic. You can start to add in other foods after 21 days, testing for responses along the way
No link for what you just started and already living up to the hype? What is it? A book? I’m interested!
oh shoot! it is a book lol! winter garden ๐
