Workout 6

Hi friends! Keep up the amazing work with Winter Shape Up. Here is Workout #6: a tempo toaster workout. The brilliant thing about tempo work is that it enables us to “trick” our bodies into becoming faster over time. We find an uncomfortable quick pace, maintain it, and bring it back down to our base. Before you know it, that once-uncomfortable pace will be the new base. This cardio workout can be completed on any mode of cardio, but I highly recommend the treadmill, bike, or Stairmaster. As always, honor your body and modify as you need to. When you finish the workout, be sure to check in on the page for that week (for example, if you’re in Week 3, you’ll check  in on the Week 3 page.)

    Gina—Is this supposed to be 30 minutes or 20 minutes? (i.e. hold tempo until minute 25 or minute 15?) Thank you!

      that is supposed to be minute 15. i was going to make it 30 minutes but changed my mind since the barre video is 30 min

    I am questioning the same as Melissa’s comment….is this workout 30 or 20 minutes total?

      sorry about that! it was 30, but i reduced it when i realized the barre video was 30 as well

    what do you do if you don’t have access to any of these exercise machines?

      do you live in an area where you can do this outside? i would go for a walk or jog and increase and hold the pace in the middle
