5.2 Friday Faves
Hi friends! Happy Friday! Whatโs going on this weekend? Liv has a dance competition, so weโre headed up to Phoenix, P has a basketball game, and weโre meeting up with friends for gelato. I hope you have a fun and relaxing weekend ahead!
A highlight of the week: it was Maiseyโs 4th birthday! ย We celebrated by grilling her a filet mignon – her first ever and she LOOOOVED it – with a night of swimming and fetch, and then a trip to Petco to replenish her tennis ball stash.
(Easter picture because she spent most of her actual birthday looking like a wet rat from playing in the pool)
I canโt believe that weโve had this fluffy, lovey girl for 4 years now. She brings so much joy and love into every.single.day and weโre so lucky sheโs ours.
Itโs time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something youโre loving in the comments section below.
5.2 Friday Faves
Fashion + beauty + random:
Wrapped up week 4 of homeschooling. We finishedย Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing (I wanted something light and fun to start) and it stood the test of time. We were cracking up at so many points during the book. Judy Blume helped me fall in love with reading for fun when I was young, and itโs amazing that sheโs doing the same for P.
This dress! I havenโt really hopped on the butter yellow trend until now but the fabric is dreamy and itโs lined, so not see-through at all. On sale here.
Celebrating my friend Anaโs birthday! Her party was a Georgeโs Wine Shop and we had appetizers, desserts, and drank wine and chatted with all of our friends. It was perfection.
(my dress is from RTR – you can use this link to try it free for one month. I love it for travel and events!)
Donโt forget to check out this yearโs Motherโs Day gift guide here. SO much good stuff ๐
Read, watch, listen:
New Sabastian Yatra. SO pumped for his new album to come out in a couple of weeks!
Listening to this podcast episode right now. Itโs WIIIIILD and while I donโt agree with everything he says – or even most of it lol – Iโm fascinated. I love hearing different perspectives on health and wellness.
Iโm looking for some more ideas for non-WWII historical fiction. <โ these books ALWAYS suck me in with their captivating stories and beautiful writing, but trying to expand my horizons. Some previous books Iโve read and enjoyed: Mistress of Rome series,ย Yellow Wife, Lady Tanโs Circle of Women, andย The Lotus Shoes, so if you have any ideas for books from different time periods and countries to explore, Iโd love to hear them.
Fitness, health, and good eats:
Our weekly tortilla tradition has been going strong. This was *girl dinner* for me and the girls one night: tortilla, salad with homemade dressing, and strawberries. Deeelish.
Exciting news: Lumebox is 50% off right now through the 8th! This is one of my favorite things to use in my morning wellness stack โ I ย love it for sore muscles, mood, skin, and injuries. I had a mole removed from my chin, so Iโve been using the red light on it a few times each day. You can use this for so many different things, and Iโm not sure when theyโll do a sale like this again. If youโve had your eye on one, Iโd snag it up!
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! Have an amazing weekend and Iโll see ya soon!
xoxo
Gina
Some non-WWII historical Iโve read and loved recently were:
Eleanore of Avignon
The Jackalโs Mistress
The Frozen River
The Phoenix Crown
I recommend The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon!
Any Rebeca Serle book, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow (Gabrielle Zevin), the joy luck clubโฆ
If youโre up for a heavy one- Where the Coyotes Howl. Itโs set in the early 1900s on the plains of Wyoming. Definitely need some tissues!
