Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy Friday! What’s going on this weekend? The Pilot is back from his trip and I’m looking forward to having a date night and also taking Liv to her first dance competition ever! They were canceled last year, but this year, they’re bringing the kiddos back. (Worth mentioning here that they have a lot of safety protocols in place. Each studio has their own time block in the auditorium, too.) I’m also going to refresh the garden a bit for spring and catch up on life. I’d love to hear what you’re up to! (Pics from exploring the Desert Museum recently. We got to see so many animals and the weather was a dream.) It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

Read, watch, listen:

What are some foods you don’t like?? I’m going to include this in next month’s book review post but I’m fully sucked into The Four Winds. Kristin Hannah has become one of my favorite authors (The Nightingale is in my top book list of all time) and she has such a beautiful and compelling way of crating a story. I always tell myself I’ll read a few more pages before bed, and then I find myself realizing that two hours have passed. Just for LOLs:

Fitness + good eats:

Sakara! UGHH I love their meals so dang much. I order once a month and it’s been such a special treat to look forward to. I usually do the 3-day breakfast and lunch shipment and it’s amazing. Everything is so fresh and vibrant! I also ordered their chocolate granola, the beauty chocolates, and the detox bars. If you want to learn more about it, check out my review here. Also if you’d like to try it out and you’re new to Sakara, use the code XOGINAH for 20% off their meals and clean boutique items! (The salads are always enormous and include a mix of flavor profiles and toppings. The green chile soup was incredible, too!) Weekly runs have been going strong for a few weeks now and it feels SO good to get back into it. For tips on getting back into running after a hiatus, check out this post. My friends at Les Mills sent me their new collaboration Nano X1 sneaker with Reebok. Nanos are some of my very fave constraining sneakers (they’re light and very comfortable; perfect for weightlifting and bootcamp or Orangetheory-type workouts) and I love the neutral colors. They’re doing some new releases to celebrate their collaboration, so stay tuned for a BODYPUMP workout I’ll host live on Instagram to celebrate. Try this HIIT and Strength workout video!  Three-minute egg white oatmeal. This rainbow chicken salad looks amazing! New Siete cookies! The bag lasted 24 hours in our house. I never thought it would be possible to fall in love with a water filter, but here we are. Big Berkey sent one of their water filters and we’re all obsessed. I’ve been looking at them for years, but always felt a little intimidated by the set up. It was super easy to assemble. I was also curious about having to add minerals BACK into the water (many filters also remove minerals we need for health) but it doesn’t remove the minerals. It eliminates so many of the concerning ingredients: BPA, medication in the water system, fluoride, chlorine, so much more. It also tastes SO great. I’m very particular about the taste of water and it’s my favorite type to drink now. Fashion + beauty: This week is Beautycounter’s 8th birthday! I’m SO proud to be a part of this brand and their incredible mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. We have a special promo that ends tonight: purchase the deluxe Countertime minis and get a free full-sized brightening oil! I use Countertime every.day (it’s my favorite line!) and you can also use the code CHANGEBEAUTY10 for 10% off if you’re a new client and want to add anything else to your cart! (I highly recommend the overnight peel and the All Bright C serum.) Also, if you’ve considered joining my team, please leave a comment below or email me gina@fitnessista.com. It can be as low-key as you’d like or can replace a full-time corporate income. The sky is truly the limit. Beautycounter has brought so much purpose and community to my life and our team is SO fun. (Our team call next week is a makeup tutorial from a professional makeup artist and esthetician.) You can sit with us – we’d love to have you! J Crew swim sale! This is one of my favorite spots to get swimsuits and many styles are 50% off right today. This coverup is so cute. Happy Friday, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. Stay tuned next week for a free barre workshop I’m hosting later this month. 🙂 xo Gina

Bodypump on Instagram! I can’t wait! I’ve gotten very used to doing Les Mills in my garage over the past year, but I really miss anything live (although their app truly is the next best thing). Also, all those new Siete cookies are amazing. I saw them at Sprouts a few weeks ago and was like, don’t mind if I do!

I’m also reading The Four Winds and loving it! Her book The Great Alone was one of my favorites! Enjoy garden time–can’t wait to do that soon!

I love Kristin Hannah! The Nightingale was fantastic, but Firefly Lane still tops the list for me. I read it way back when it came out and absolutely loved it. I just finished the first season of the Netflix series – I was skeptical at first, but loved it, too.
