Hey everyone! HAPPY FRIDAY!

I’ve got a seriously amazing giveaway to kick off the weekend….

Remember this cookbook that I got (and have been experimenting with a little this week)??

011

I talked to Sarma, founder of One Lucky Duck and co-founder Pure Food and Wine, and she has graciously offered a Fitnessista reader a signed copy of her new cookbook!!!

This cookbook is outta control amazing. The recipes are easy to follow, don’t require a ton of obscure ingredients or fancy schmancy equipment and demonstrate that raw food doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful and delicious. It also includes a boatload of information on nutrition and the raw lifestyle, yet reads like an email from a good friend. I read the book in it’s entirety within 2 days.

It’s also a feast for the eyes with stunning photos…

Recipes for juices….

013

Salads, soups, snacks and impressive entrees….

014

Cocktails and desserts….

015

Are ya sold yet??? 😀

Here’s how you can get 2 chances to win this beautiful cookbook:

  1. Leave a comment stating why you’d like to win this cookbook and/or what you’d like to make first if you win
  2. Link back to this post on your blog and send me an email (fitnessista at gmail dot com) with the link to your post. If you don’t have a blog, no worries, just send me an email and I’ll get your extra entry in

I’ll post the winner at 8am EST on Monday, July 13th

***************EDITED TO SAY: This giveaway has ended as of 7/13/09 0800.

See ya after lunch and work 😉

xoxo,

G

    Hey!
I would LOVE to win this book because I've gone High raw in the last 2 months and am feeling VERY adrift: I don't know any fellow vegans, let alone raw foodists and am trying to figure out this diet for myself while representing it to others. I am a recent university graduate with limited funds and a desperate thirst for resources and assistance!

Hi Gena- I'm fairly new to your blog but I would love to win this book because I've been a vegan for about 2 years now and I'm trying to transition into a raw-based diet. The thing is, I'm not ready & don't have the cash to splurge on a dehydrator and the like so this cookbook would be so helpful for getting me started. Right now is also the perfect time for me to go raw because local farmer's markets are in full swing and there's so much delicious produce! I have a sweet tooth too, so I'd love to try some of the desserts from the book!
    Thank you!

  23. Katherine on July 11, 2009 at 11:08 am

I would love to have access to Samara's book! I struggle with balanced eating (your post about eating enough to maintain your metabolism really spoke to me), and am looking for new things to eat instead of my unembellished menu. I eat healthy, but boring because I'm working on finding healthy ways to eat delicious things! I don't know anyone else meatless, so it'd be awesome to have a resource of recipes to make (instead of eating each ingredient separately because that's the only way I know how!).
I would love to try some of the dessert recipes first because I have not had a cookie to eat in over a year! Since I've struggled with eating, I am always too anxious to eat whatever is available. I'd love to put healthy things together, knowing that there is nothing processed/unnatural, and then enjoy a special treat!
Also, I'd love to try some lentil/bean recipes. I don't know where to begin with those ingredients, but know they can be great staples!

    Thanks!
    Katherine

Thanks for the giveaway!
