Friday Faves
Hi friends! Happy weekend to ya. I hope you had a wonderful 4th!
Weโre here in San Diego for a few days, and loving being back at the beach and back in all of our usual spots. The fresh ocean air feels amazing, and Iโm looking forward to spending time with our SD friends for a bit.
(Dress here and my fave everyday sneakers are here)
I wanted to say thank you for all of the lovely and heartfelt comments, DMs, texts, and emails in response to my last post. Whenever I go out on a limb, it surprises me to know how many of you feel the exact same way. So many of us are juggling a lot of tasks, feeling the pressure to always accomplish more, and the constant need to stay busy and moving. I hope youโll join me in simply evaluating whatโs important, whatโs fun, whatโs worth it, and take some time for yourself each day. I think a lot of the pressure I was feeling was self-imposed; always adding more onto my plate because I could, and not necessarily *should.*
Iโll still be here blogging and doing my thing, but Iโm taking the next couple of weeks to see what tasks I can outsource or eliminate. Taking care of the girls is my #1 job, but for so long, Iโve been rolling along in this space without respecting the fact that itโs also a full-time job. Beyond writing posts, thereโs a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into this little blog, including never-ending emails, social calendars, sponsored content, brand partnerships, editing and recording the podcast, producing videos, creating graphics, Beautycounter, etc.
Also, my posts around here might change! Iโm going to focus on writing more about the things that excite me and that I think youโd like to read about, and not necessarily posts that I think will be pinned a ton or shared. There will still be lots of fitness and life content, but Iโd love to focus more on some topics like the following: mom hacks, quick workouts you can do anywhere, quick staple meal ideas, daily casual uniforms, meditation, budgeting, etc. If you have any requests or anything youโd like to see, please let me know!
For now, itโs time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my fave finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear what youโre enjoying too, so please shout out a fave in the comments below.

The new Countertime collection launches on Tuesday! Iโll have a full post up with all of the details, but I.canโt.wait for you to have it! Iโve been using the new line for about a month now and am completely obsessed. The night cream feels just like La Mer and the new plant-based retinol is a dream.
(This is from the sample they sent after LEAD and Iโve hardly made a dent in it, despite using it every night. A little goes a long way! Itโs super luxe and moisturizing.)

I’d love for you to write a blog post about meditation. I’ve read a couple of books about the benefits recently and I’m trying to incorporate it into my morning routine.
yes i can definitely do that!
Thank you for keeping your blog authentic. So many bloggers start writing random/money making posts that no longer reflect why they started to blog and you can tell. We all evolve and that’s okay.
<3 thank you.
I love your ideas for future posts! I’m especially Interested in quick workouts, staple meals & casual uniform. It all sounds great and yay for you! Write about what excites you ๐
Have a great weekend and lots of fun in San Diego!
thank you! hope you had a great holiday weekend ๐
I love the idea of quick meals especially quick healthy meals for picky kids!
I love ALL those blog ideas. Especially mom hacks and the every day hacks (staple meals, outfits, tricks and tips). Keep up the amazing work. You are doing a great job!
thank you so much <3
thank you! sounds good ๐
I really loved your last post & all the reflections. I’m about to work from home (while taking care of my baby) and it was helpful for me to read. You’re doing SUCH a great job. Honestly, being a single parent for any amount of time is hard and you’re loving on your girls so much. Glad to be reading and glad you moved close to family – that’s everything!
thank you so much. xoxo
Hi Gina! Love the future blog topics. I love that you keep it real. I enjoy reading every day life stuff, mom hacks, workout tips, etc.
Would you be able to share any hotel recommendations for San Diego? We are headed there in September and have no idea where we should stay.
I would love to hear more about each of those blog topics you mentioned. I think those are all awesome ideas! I’ve been a long time blog reader here and I feel like most of us in this community are going through some kind of struggle just in different ways. And reading about the realness of life from your blog lets us all relate on some level and helps us all feel at peace with what we are struggling with. As I watched our kids play outside the other day I turned to my husband and told him these are the best years of our lives but they are also the hardest. Thank you for everything you put into this blog.
I’d love to hear more about what you eat in a day, how to make quick and healthy meals for multiple people or for the week!
Great ideas for blog post! Those are the type of post I would want to see also! Thanks for the work you put into this blog.
” Iโm going to focus on writing more about the things that excite me and that I think youโd like to read about, and not necessarily posts that I think will be pinned a ton or shared”
YES! I feel like when people just write what makes them happy they come off as being the best- even if I wasn’t initially interested in the topic.
Thank you for keeping it real! Yes, I’d love to know some more life hacks that you seem to do so well. The budget thing is always tricky, especially when buying good food. Also, any life hacks you have on keeping a clean house with two kiddos running around would be helpful!
