10 Days of Giveaways: Day 5 (Gymboss)

Last giveaway of week 1! This one is a product I’ve used for a few years now: Gymboss.

10daysofgiveaways

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of HIIT training and interval-style workouts. I like to time different segments as it’s a great way to change things up and really challenge myself. (Like when I increased the HIIT time from 30-40 seconds hard the other day— it killed me in the best way possible.) I have a timer app on my phone, which is fine to use at home, but when I’m at the gym, guess where my phone is? In a locker. When I go to the gym, I have a small amount of time to get in and get out, and I like to do it without the distraction of a phone. If I have it, I’m much more tempted to check my email, see what people are saying on Twitter, aka waste time.

Gymboss timer to the rescue:

Gymboss

It’s extremely user-friendly, and has a few sound settings. My favorite is to clip it on my shirt and set it on vibrate, so it doesn’t distract other gym-goers. I’ve also used it while teaching classes, especially since the resort is cell phone free and it looks more professional to use an actual timer. It’s one of my favorite workout tools, especially because it’s so inexpensive, and it makes a perfect stocking stuffer for a fitness-loving friend. They recently released some cool new colors, too!

Gymboss2

My friends at Gymboss kindly offered five interval timers– one each to five lucky winners. It’s a great little workout buddy 😉

Here’s how to enter:

    Spinning!

  3. Corinne on December 7, 2013 at 9:39 am

I’ve been a dancer my whole life so that’s definitely my favorite cardio – running is probably a close second though. Both of them totally help me get out of my head 😉

  4. Tess on December 7, 2013 at 9:42 am

Gymboss rocks! Tabata is SO much easier with it as well as interval training. Love it.

    Running & HIIT!

  9. Jen B on December 7, 2013 at 9:48 am

I was only a runner for years. I started falling in love with HIIT training after trying Insanity. Now I love making up my own HIIT workouts, or trying ones I find on Pinterest or blogs, like yours!

  10. Mariah on December 7, 2013 at 9:49 am

    Swimming!

  11. jen on December 7, 2013 at 9:50 am

    marathon training!

  12. Stephanie on December 7, 2013 at 9:54 am

My favorite cardio is a good ‘ole run. I’ve been missing it sorely since I’ve been injured most of the year, but I’m finally on the mend and starting to (very slowly!) incorporate it back into my routine.

I love the idea of this timer! I have been looking for something to aid me through HIIT and the fact that it can just vibrate instead of making a noise or having to stare at it is awesome. I will probably put this on the Christmas list this year in the (likely) event that I don’t win. Thanks for posting this!

I love spinning but want to do more HIIT training with weights

  14. Shira on December 7, 2013 at 9:56 am

I love HIIT! It’s hard for me to do steady state on machines these days, I get so bored, HIIT makes things fast and fun!

  15. Melissa Caulfield on December 7, 2013 at 10:08 am

I am just getting into HIIT for weight loss so this would be such a blessing!

  16. Rachel on December 7, 2013 at 10:13 am

I love running, but this would definitely help with my interval training!!

  17. Megan on December 7, 2013 at 10:13 am

I love spinning but I often take breaks from the class due to arthritis in my foot. The Gym Boss looks like such an amazing tool to use in the gym, at home or in my hotel room on a work trip!

  18. Mary Russell on December 7, 2013 at 10:14 am

Use a phone app, but I’ve seen this on body rock. Would love to have one!

  19. Amanda Bee on December 7, 2013 at 10:14 am

I still love just running outdoors – a timer would be great for outdoor HIIT.

  20. Cate on December 7, 2013 at 10:15 am

I am recuperating from an injury, so the elliptical is my go-to machine right now. I have even added some HIIT intervals to my elliptical workouts to try to get myself back in form. Fast and furious HIIT workouts are great!

  21. Kate on December 7, 2013 at 10:17 am

I love zumba if I can make it to a class with my crazy work hours!

  22. Alison W on December 7, 2013 at 10:18 am

I love running, but I don’t always have tons of time, so I like to throw some HIIT in there with a Run/walk! I usually estimate my time on/off- one of these timers would be awesome!

  28. Jocelyn Isaacs Erb on December 7, 2013 at 10:42 am
