Annual survey + Favorite Things Giveaway

Hi friends! As we put the cherry on top of the 2020 dumpster fire and say ADIOS to this year, I wanted to take a minute to say thank you.

I donโ€™t take this blog or the work Iโ€™m able to do for granted, ever. Every single day Iโ€™m excited to connect with all of you in this space which first began when the Pilot told me to โ€œstop shopping online so much and find a hobby that doesnโ€™t cost anything.โ€ <โ€” lol. The blog has grown and changed so much over the years, and whether youโ€™re an OG blog reader (thank you!!!) or a new friend (hi! welcome!!), I hope you know how much I appreciate you hanging out with me over here.

Every click, comment, follow, like, product purchase, and pageview directly helps our family and I am sending you so much love and gratitude.

How about a little giveaway?

I am a kindergarten teacher. When we had to go remote last year it was really hard. However, the relationships I formed with parents were strong and I felt appreciated.

I absolutely loved having my husband home more this year- and our girls loved it too!

Actually being home to enjoy the Christmas season and our decorations this year instead of being gone for 11-12 hours a day was so amazing. I donโ€™t think I ever want to be full time in an office again!

This year my husband and I bought our dream house! It was all very serendipitous and with everything we don’t take for granted that we were able to do this.

By far the best and happiest moment of 2020 was delivering my 3rd daughter in February… the world may have shutdown just weeks after she was born, but my world opened up with this sweet girl and I have been able to learn to let go of so much of the โ€œsmall stuffโ€

My happiest 2020 memories were hiking with my 17 year old who will be off to college next year. These memories are much better than the time I would have spent if most of our time together had been limited to dropping off and picking up from school. Thatโ€™s one benefit of this crazy year!

Even though 2020 has been pretty dark, there are also some truly incredible things that happened this year. My father, who was originally diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer, went for a routine petscan and it came back clear. Miracle of miracles!

I loved being a long-term substitute kindergarten teacher for my friend who was out for maternity leave. I took over from the beginning of January through the end of the school year and went through all of the distance learning with my team and the class it made it a very special and memorable time! It was hard, but I’m so grateful for that opportunity.

The happiest memories of this year are always of my son. No matter whatโ€™s going on, heโ€™s always the biggest ray of sunshine. He makes people smile when they need it, gives little gifts to his teachers to show appreciation, and make them feel special, shows the bullies how to be friends. For me, when migraines or cancer have me down he tells me what a great mom I am and gives me a hug and kiss. Heโ€™s the bright and shiny in a world without enough of it.
