Everydrop Water Filter (+ a giveaway!)

[This post is sponsored from Whirlpool® Water. Of course, all opinions are my own. Read on for more details + a giveaway for a lucky reader to get their own EveryDrop™ Water Filter + a $100 gift card!]

I’ve gotten away from my number-focused ways. There was a time when I counted calories judiciously, knew my weight and body fat percentage, and recorded various numbers in a notebook… or let them run wild in my brain. I haven’t weighed myself for months (and prefer to go by how my clothes fit) and no longer keep track of all the little details. The only thing I track now is something that has a huge impact on my skin, energy levels and metabolism: water intake. I have a big Nalgene bottle (32 oz.) and make sure I fill it at least three times throughout the day. (You need 96 oz. of water a day to live– more if you’re active!) Everydrop 1 of 1 4

I always have my water bottle with me, and pack one up for Livi too since she loves to drink water all day. Even when I travel, I’ll put an empty large water bottle in my backpack and fill it once I get through security. It’s better than buying plastic bottles, and this way, I have a water bottle for my trip. Here’s the thing, though: when I travel, the water kind of sketches me out. I’m always hearing about different things that can be found in the water system -ok, and I was traumatized when I read an article about some things that were found in Tucson- so I always figure: the more filtration, the better. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when Whirlpool Water offered to send me an EveryDrop Water Filter to try out. It was much smaller than I imagined, Everydrop 1 of 1 and came in a cute travel case. Everydrop 1 of 1 2 I quickly assembled it, and couldn’t wait to try it out: Everydrop 1 of 1 3 Something that surprised me was how quickly the water came out! It would be so easy to use this between a public water fountain and my bottle. Everydrop 1 of 1 5 In reality, I don’t see myself carrying it around with us all the time -I have too much to lug around as is -but it is definitely something I’ll use while traveling. If you’d like to win your own + a $100 Visa gift card, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post with techniques you use to drink more water. I have a few in this post, but my all-time favorite is to infuse it with fresh fruit and herbs.  You can get up to two entries by completing any of the methods below!

This would come in handy on camping trips.

I would be careful about using this for camping. I cannot find any claims for how well it filters out microbes like giardia. It would be great to learn specifications on the filter. Does it truly filter out bacteria and parasites? Viruses? Is it solely activated charcoal to get out the bad flavors? That would be fine for making filtered water from a faucet in a modern US cite, but not for filtering stream water or water in a third-world country.

      Whirlpool, any specifications on filtration?

My trick is to always have a water bottle nearby – I bring two 32-ounce ones to work every day!!

  4. Wild Orchid on November 14, 2013 at 4:19 pm

I would use it when I go to work.

Thanks for the chance to win!

I drink lots and lots of water daily. I always keep bottled water in the car and at work. I even have a bit water cup at home and have water with my lunch.

Drink lots of bottled water due to my city water tasting gross. Would love to see if EveryDrop would help. Pur filter didn’t work very well, maybe this one will filter more out.

The right water bottle makes a big difference! Whether it’s the look or function.

I always keep a water bottle with me (on my coffee table, in my car, in my purse) to remind me to drink more water!

I try to keep water close to where I am so I can drink all through the day.

  14. Kerry on November 18, 2013 at 7:23 pm

I’ve found that if I drink out of a glass with a straw, I drink a lot more water.

  15. Wanda McHenry on November 20, 2013 at 12:53 am

I have no problems when it comes to water, I like the good old fashioned glass of water and I drink plenty of it throughout the day. I don’t like it flavored, bubbly or whatever else!

I stopped by soda and lugging it around with me in the car. Now I grab two water bottles, leave one in the car and put one in my purse everywhere I go to avoid buyinga soda, etc.

  18. Amy A on November 21, 2013 at 1:57 pm

I try to take a break at least once an hr or so to take a drink of water and I also try to have a clear bottle so that I can see how much water I have left.

  19. Jean on November 21, 2013 at 4:33 pm

We have awesome filtered water at my work, and I keep a SodaStream in my office to make my own seltzer. I find I drink waaay more water if it’s bubbly.

  21. LAMusing on November 21, 2013 at 4:38 pm

Actually I don’t drink nearly enough water – maybe this handy portable filter would help 🙂

  22. Norma on November 21, 2013 at 4:40 pm

I already drink a lot of water, but I’d use it in the bathroom so I don’t need to go all the way to the kitchen in the middle of the night for pure water.

I keep bottles of my filtered water on my desk and it’s so easy to take sips all day long. I love good tasting water, even without infusions of flavor.
