Begin the legendary wait

Hi friends! How are you? Hope you’ve had a great day so far <3 Thank you SO much for your awesome comments and stories on this morning’s post. Also, I’m so happy to hear you’re liking the Monday workout!! Thanks for always being awesome.. you do it so well 😉

This morning, we took Bella for a 30-minute walk around the park and then came back for b-fast.

me and bell2

I rolled with a goat cheese and veggie omelet + half a banana

omelet

(It’s amazing how little things, like mustard and chives, can take a meal from “meh” to “yeahhhhhhh”)

More eats:

larabar

(my all-time fave)

+ sushiiiiiii 😀

I haven’t had *real* sushi ever since I got the $1 roll in Valdosta and had scary fish nightmares and was sick all night. Note to everyone: NEVER get the $1 roll. Ever.

Today, I was ready to take it easy with some of my faves:

House salad

salad

Squid salad

salad (2)

Salmon sashimi

sashimi

The lunch bunch 🙂

The Pilot and Trev

Kyle and Meg

kyle and meg

Domination:

When we got home, I jotted down some grocery and meal ideas for this week:

ieas

and then met with our REALTOR!!!

I’ve been itching to give you guys an update on what’s going on with our house, but we’ve had no new info. The good news is that the sellers accepted our offer!!! The blah news is that the house is bank-owned (which is why we’re getting a SICK deal on it), so we have to play the waiting game until the bank decides if they want to accept or counter our offer.

view

(The view from our *hopefully future* master bedroom balcony)

We’re totally happy waiting because we’re in love with the house and also have a back-up if for any reason it falls through. Also, my lease at the little townhouse doesn’t end until June and we aren’t technically stationed here until mid Summer. (The Pilot has to go back to Valdosta for about a month, and I’ll prob go back with him for half of it)

So there are the deets! We’re cautiously optimistic that it will all work out and of course, I’ll post some info when the bank makes their decision.

I’m off to dance my little heart out 🙂

See ya in the morning!

xoxo

Yay for sushi! I love it! So glad it came back to your life! I love the squid salads too! I have a hard time debating between squid and seaweed when I get sushi!

LOVE the view from your possible house * fingers crossed* Im so excited for you guys!!

    • Fitnessista on April 4, 2011 at 10:09 pm

i have the same dilemma- today i wrote “seaweed” then crossed it off for squid. sometimes i get both 😉

  7. courtney @ cupcakedynamite on April 4, 2011 at 10:03 pm

In college my roommate used to eat sushi from 7-11 (a convenience store, are 7-11’s national?! hehe) and after I tried ONE bite I wouldn’t have sushi for YEARS. You should add that to your list. “Never eat the $1 roll and never eat the roll from the convenience store.” These are life lessons right here. 😉

    • Fitnessista on April 4, 2011 at 10:09 pm

hahah just stored that valuable advice in my brain forever, thank you

  15. Sara K on April 4, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Good luck with the house!!! Ahhh I’ve also had a shady $1 sushi experience…ugh should have known it’s sketchy to pay that little for raw fish- but yes there is nothing like DELICIOUS good quality, fresh sushi and sashimi 🙂

  16. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on April 4, 2011 at 10:40 pm

So happy that the seller accepted your offer, and yes, now it’s in the bank’s hands. Sometimes the banks will get back to you in a few days. Or a few weeks. Or a month++. I feel your pain. Been there. Once they DO accept it, or counter, then the ball really starts rolling and you guys get to do inspections, financing, etc but yeah, soooo exciting for you!!! Love the blue sky pic!

and your sushi perils..I remember that post like it was yesterday. I’m sure you do too! ha! But glad that you are back on the sushi train and loved it! Great pics w/ your friends, too!

  17. Jen on April 4, 2011 at 10:45 pm

That sashimi looks AMAZING!!!!! especially for a desert 🙂

    • Fitnessista on April 5, 2011 at 12:52 am

nope, but carefree is beautiful 🙂

  25. Melissa @ Delectable Living on April 5, 2011 at 12:01 am

Good luck with the house! I also love blueberry Larabars– my Whole Foods didn’t used to stock them and once they started I literally screamed “yesss!” in the aisle. I got some pretty awkward stare downs, but now I’m happy with my blueberry bars.

  26. Namaste Gurl on April 5, 2011 at 12:17 am

What a purtty location you live in- i’m quite jealous you live in a dessert 🙂
Hoping everything works out with the new casa 🙂 xx

  27. Amy on April 5, 2011 at 12:24 am

So, it sounds like the house is a short sale and not a bank-owned one if you’re waiting for a response now from the bank. I hope it works out – short sales can can be tricky since the bank is (hopefully!) accepting less than what the owners owe on the house. My husband and I are also looking for our first home right now, super exciting! 🙂

  28. mitzi @ my nikon eats food on April 5, 2011 at 12:25 am

crossing my fingers for the new home!! and now, i want some salmon sashimi…DROOL!!!

  29. Allison @ Food For Healing on April 5, 2011 at 12:39 am

I want that squid salad, it looks soo good. I also want that view.

Really really hope you get the house! Fingers are crossed for you!

  31. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on April 5, 2011 at 6:50 am

Yayyyy for the house!! Fingers crossed for you!

Just read the running post, and it seriously couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I can’t run as much as I used to because of my knee, and even though it kind of pisses me off, I’ve realized that if my body doesn’t like it, why push something that isn’t meant to be?! There are so many things that my body LOVES to do- I should focus on those instead of the one thing it can’t 🙂

  32. Katherine: Unemployed on April 5, 2011 at 6:52 am

things I didn’t know about the pilot: looking forward to that situation (why is it such a human trait to be curious about others so). I would love a how-to post on eating sushi! I don’t know any of the manners for pieces other than california-roll sizes. Sometimes the rolls are so big or the sushi pieces are large; are you supposed to eat them in one bite? is it okay to not? (this is when I retreat to my miso soup)

  33. Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn on April 5, 2011 at 6:56 am

House-buying is so so exciting!! I’m leaving for school in the fall, and yet my fam is looking at a new house…down the street? Haha I can’t wait to hear more!

  34. Stephanie on April 5, 2011 at 6:56 am

Argh…I HATE waiting. The view from your balcony is absolutely breathtaking. I can see why you’d want to live there. I’m thinking that breakfast will soon be a long drawn-out affair sitting out there! 🙂

  35. Heather (Heather's Dish) on April 5, 2011 at 7:37 am

the waiting game sucks but it flies by! you guys will have so much to do…buying a house is another full-time job!

Good luck with the house stuff — hopefully it all works out!

  37. Faith @ lovelyascharged on April 5, 2011 at 8:11 am

We actually have a legit $1 roll at our sushi place…granted it’s called the Recession Roll and it’s just rice + seaweed…but still its a great filler between the $10 ones!

  38. Nicole @ Fresh & Fit on April 5, 2011 at 8:21 am

That view is stunning! I hope everything works out for you!

Yikes a $1 sushi roll? That sounds mega sketchy! But at least your sushi lunch yesterday looks good (and hopefully bacteria-free ;))!

My fingers are crosed about the house situation!

    Love the view! GOOD LUCK!
