Coffee date chat
Having a coffee date chat with some of my best blog friends.
Hi! Howโs the morning going? I hope youโre having a great one so far. Itโs been a little while since weโve had a coffee or juice chat around here, so letโs grab a favorite beverage and catch up a bit today. Iโd probably ask you to join me at Dedicated, because itโs my favorite local bakery right now. Everything is gluten-free and their coffee drinks are amazing!
If we were having coffee right nowโฆ.
Iโd want to hear whatโs going on with YOU. How are the human and/or fur children? Howโs life? What do you have going on right now?
Weโd probably talk about spring fever and summer plans. Iโm SO READY for school (and homework!) to be over for the kids. Iโm ready for late-night swims, slow mornings, and enjoying more time together. As far as summer travel goes, weโre headed to Hawaii this summer (canโt wait!!!) and I have multiple price alerts set for Spain. If the airline prices drop a little, weโre IN.
Iโd want to know where youโve been shopping lately. I feel like everything has been a little blah so far this season, but so far, Iโm really loving Abercrombie (surprisingly!), Amazon finds (like this dress and this set), and Farm Rio. Iโm still doing the RTR Unlimited subscription and itโs a nice way to keep things fresh without buying all the things lol.
Iโd tell you about my garden. When I had all of my eye issues last spring, I let everything die. I didnโt want to be outside in the soil and wind since my eyes were so irritated, so my garden became survival of the fittest. Somehow, zucchinis grew the size of my forearm, one gigantic beet survived, and our rose bushes made it! Theyโre all blooming now and smell amazing. The Pilot built a new garden bed, we planted some new things for spring, and Iโm excited to have a garden again.
I’d ask you what workouts you’ve been into lately. I’m still loving Sculpt Society, F45, barre, hiking, and hot yoga.
Iโd probably chat with you about military life. The Pilot will be retired this winter and I canโt even believe it. I shared more in this vulnerable Instagram post, but Iโm not going to be sad when itโs over. So much of military life is based on anxiety and worry, and waiting. Waiting for the next assignment, waiting for deployment to be over, waiting until things calm down (<โ this never happens lol). I had to learn to be happy in the moment and to stop waiting for things, which positively affected my outlook on military life, and life in general. When he retires, Iโll be sad because I know heโll be sad and miss it. Itโs a huge part of his identity. Iโm so proud of him and everything heโs accomplished, but looking forward to the next chapter.
Iโd want to know what youโre excited about right now, and also share some future plans with you. Iโve been hard at work behind the scenes here on the blog, and also on an EquiLife mentorship. Iโll share some more details in the next couple of weeks, but itโs been an incredible opportunity.
So tell me, friends:
– Whatโs going on in your life? What are you excited about right now? Do you have a garden? Any summer plans?
xoxo
Gina
We are going to Hawaii at the end of July! I am so excited. We are also going to get our garden planted in the next couple of weeks. A few of our herbs came back which is amazing, and I can’t wait to buy the rest of our plants! My husband is definitely the plant whisperer in our house, but I like looking at it and pretending I helped, haha.
yay I’m excited for you! which island are you visiting?? we’ll be in Oahu
and I love that lol!
We are going to Maui! We haven’t been since right before the fires, so we’ve been reading up on how to best support people while visiting (tipping well, being insanely respectful, not asking locals about it, etc…).
Oahu will be amaaaazing (not that you can go wrong on any island)! I can already taste the Mai Tais, haha.
Also, I love these posts! They reminds me of the blog days of yore! I totally get why people have changed their blogging styles over the years, but I still miss it.
Hi Gina-
I live in Tucson as well! Wondering if you have any resources or how you learned what veggies/herbs do well in this climate/ when to plant/ amount of sun vs shade etc. Iโd love to start a garden but worried everything will just get fried in the sun!
Thanks so much.
I always just google it depending on when I’m planting! I’ll google “best things to plant in Tucson is April” and then usually go with most of that list. we put ours on irrigation and that’s made a huge difference with keeping everything alive. otherwise, we go out of town and it all dies
Hi Gina,
I love these posts and I love that you still take the time to connect with us OG blog followers<3 Iโm also so ready for summer, slow mornings, and soaking up time with the kiddos. I canโt wait to hear about Hawaii and Iโm excited for you for the Pilotโs next chapter. P.S. I loved the vulnerable IG post!
yes, I can’t wait!
thank you so much and thank you for being here for so long! xo
Hi Gina! Weโre going on our first ever cruiseโa 3 night Disney cruise to the Bahamas! Any first time cruising advice? Weโre not doing any excursions since itโs so short and weโre new to it all I have a 5 yo and my daughter turns 8 on the cruise:) One silly question: do I need a purse on the ship?
Hi! Do you have an Instagram?? If you send me a DM Iโll send you a voice message with tons of tips! Youโll have the best time! You donโt need a purse- Iโd just bring a small clutch for dinners
