Everydrop Water Filter (+ a giveaway!)

[This post is sponsored from Whirlpool® Water. Of course, all opinions are my own. Read on for more details + a giveaway for a lucky reader to get their own EveryDrop™ Water Filter + a $100 gift card!]

I’ve gotten away from my number-focused ways. There was a time when I counted calories judiciously, knew my weight and body fat percentage, and recorded various numbers in a notebook… or let them run wild in my brain. I haven’t weighed myself for months (and prefer to go by how my clothes fit) and no longer keep track of all the little details. The only thing I track now is something that has a huge impact on my skin, energy levels and metabolism: water intake. I have a big Nalgene bottle (32 oz.) and make sure I fill it at least three times throughout the day. (You need 96 oz. of water a day to live– more if you’re active!) Everydrop 1 of 1 4

I always have my water bottle with me, and pack one up for Livi too since she loves to drink water all day. Even when I travel, I’ll put an empty large water bottle in my backpack and fill it once I get through security. It’s better than buying plastic bottles, and this way, I have a water bottle for my trip. Here’s the thing, though: when I travel, the water kind of sketches me out. I’m always hearing about different things that can be found in the water system -ok, and I was traumatized when I read an article about some things that were found in Tucson- so I always figure: the more filtration, the better. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when Whirlpool Water offered to send me an EveryDrop Water Filter to try out. It was much smaller than I imagined, Everydrop 1 of 1 and came in a cute travel case. Everydrop 1 of 1 2 I quickly assembled it, and couldn’t wait to try it out: Everydrop 1 of 1 3 Something that surprised me was how quickly the water came out! It would be so easy to use this between a public water fountain and my bottle. Everydrop 1 of 1 5 In reality, I don’t see myself carrying it around with us all the time -I have too much to lug around as is -but it is definitely something I’ll use while traveling. If you’d like to win your own + a $100 Visa gift card, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post with techniques you use to drink more water. I have a few in this post, but my all-time favorite is to infuse it with fresh fruit and herbs.  You can get up to two entries by completing any of the methods below!

I have lots of water bottle around the house so if I misplace one of my favorites it is easy to grab another before heading out the door.

  2. Katie on November 5, 2013 at 10:33 am

When I eat, I take a swig of water after EVERY BITE. At first I had to be really conscious about doing it but now it’s just a habit. Not only does it help me up my water intake, but I also fill up quicker so that I don’t eat as much!

  3. Jacquelyn @justjacq on November 5, 2013 at 10:33 am

I always have a water bottle with me and fill it up wherever I go. I also have a cup at work with a straw and a lid and I just sit here all day at my desk sipping form it. Something about drinking from a fancy plastic cup with lid and straw makes drinking water more fun.

  4. Jennifer on November 5, 2013 at 10:33 am

I love adding lemon slices to my water! Just plain water is boring, so I like to spruce it up with natural flavors!

  5. CarolynB on November 5, 2013 at 10:33 am

I fill my Camelbak (32 oz) with ice and water and I don’t know why but I love drinking ice water when it is colder I love drinking water and will drink more.

  6. Lindsay B on November 5, 2013 at 10:34 am

I carry a Klean Kanteen with me and if I switch the standard loop cap out for the sport cap, I always drink more water. For some reason, the act of unscrewing the cap seems to be too much work 🙂

  7. Lindsey on November 5, 2013 at 10:34 am

Having a water bottle with me constantly helps remind me but I drink a lot more when the water is in a bottle with a straw!

  8. jean on November 5, 2013 at 10:35 am

I need this to make me drink more water.!!!!

  9. Sara on November 5, 2013 at 10:36 am

When I want a “fancy water” I use fresh mint leaves, mango slices and chia seeds 🙂 So yummy with the added benefit of chia seeds! Just on a day to day I fill up my water bottle with ice cold water with lots of fresh squeezed lemon and a splash of apple cider vinegar…my husband thinks I’m crazy!

  10. Shay on November 5, 2013 at 10:36 am

I bring big pitcher of water out at every meal, I find that the easier it is to fill your cup up…the more likely EVERYONE is to do it!

  11. Trina on November 5, 2013 at 10:36 am

I buy lots of colorful water bottles that I keep on my desk (and use) at work. The colors and style catch my eye, and remind me to drink water throughout the day.

  12. Amy on November 5, 2013 at 10:36 am

A big old water bottle on my desk at all times. I try to fill up and finish one bottle before work (two if I ran in the morning) and two after lunch. I tell myself I have to drink 3 times as much water as coffee. 🙂

  13. Jaime Owens on November 5, 2013 at 10:37 am

Love this! I also have a huge camelbak bottle (32oz) and fill it up with water when i eat breakfast, with lunch, and when i leave work, and any other time I notice it’s empty between those times. That way, I know I’ll get at least 90-ish ounces throughout the day.

I also make carbonated water at home with dinner with my sodastream, and can drink a whole bottle of that on my own!

  14. Jordan on November 5, 2013 at 10:39 am

I drink an 8oz glass as soon as I wake up, then tick off on my 18oz cup at work how many glasses I’ve had throughout the day. I take my 32oz Camelbak with my to the gym, then have water with every meal as well. Typically, I get around 140oz of water each day. Cutting out everything else but green tea has made it much easier to get plenty of water in!

  15. Shantel on November 5, 2013 at 10:39 am

I have a big red jug that I have on my desk all day. I will periodically add ice to it just to make it interested. I love water, so drinking it is never a problem for me. 🙂

  17. Stephanie on November 5, 2013 at 10:41 am

I like to add lemon slices or other berries. While at work during the day, I try to continuously fill up my travel mug with either ice water or hot green tea!

  18. Larissa on November 5, 2013 at 10:44 am

I always have a bottle with me at work and try to fill it ever other client, I work with kiddos. I love to put lemon and mint in my water or a tea bag and just let it sit there. I live in San Diego and sometimes wonder what is in my water when I’m out running and need to fill up at a drinking fountain- I don’t think about it too much or I wouldn’t refill my bottle enough ha!

  19. Michelle Audisio on November 5, 2013 at 10:45 am

I bring a huge glass cup to work (32oz) and fill it up 3 times. Even though my coworkers make fun, I’m the one with the clearest skin!

  20. Shannon on November 5, 2013 at 10:47 am

This probably sounds funny, but I bring a plastic cup with a lid and a straw to work with me. I find that I drink way more when I do so out of a straw – it goes down easier I guess!

  21. Laura on November 5, 2013 at 10:49 am

My best way to drink more water is to just have my water bottle with me in plain sight. When it’s out of my view, I forget about it!! I really need to be better with this.

  22. Ali on November 5, 2013 at 10:51 am

I chug a bunch of water in the morning, so I start off my day already having drank 24 or more ounces.

  23. KellyK on November 5, 2013 at 10:53 am

I have a water pitcher on my counter that I put fresh mint in. yum! And at work, I bought a special blue pottery glass that is my water-only glass. It makes drinking water feel special, and something I want to do.

  24. jenny l. on November 5, 2013 at 10:54 am

I use a liter water bottle and fill it a few times a day to keep track. And I make sure I drink a couple of cups as soon as I wake up!

  25. melissa on November 5, 2013 at 10:55 am

I never leave home without my water bottle! Plus I love to add lemon or orange slices to freshen it up a bit!

  26. Carolyn M on November 5, 2013 at 10:55 am

I work in an office and it’s usually freezing in here. So to warm up (and hydrate!) I drink hot water all day long. People think I have a serious tea addiction because I’m always using the hot water tap, but I’m actually just drinking hot water.

  27. Robin on November 5, 2013 at 10:55 am

I like putting ice and lemon in my water bottle so it has a kind of “spa” vibe when I drink it. I also try and make challenges with myself- such as finishing an entire bottle before lunch, another before dinner, etc.

  28. Katie on November 5, 2013 at 10:56 am

I keep a University of Georgia cup at work and try to fill it at least 3 times during the day. I also add a tsp of apple cider vinegar to my first glass when I get to work.

  29. KatieP on November 5, 2013 at 10:56 am

I’m from Texas. The land of sweet tea. It’s totally my weakness and I could drink it all day everyday. I could easily give up coffee for sweet tea. So I always order water or prepare a glass of water at meals and then I can have a tea when I’m done. I would love this filter thing for work! I hate using plastic water bottles (let’s save the earth yo!) and sometimes the tap water tastes funky.

  30. Karen Rinker on November 5, 2013 at 10:57 am

I don’t remember to drink enough water, that’s why I need to win this.

  31. terri d. on November 5, 2013 at 10:57 am

I always keep my 32 oz Nalgene with me…the biggest thing that helps is having cold, filtered water available throughout the day. It’s such a bummer when I’m out and run out of water…that water filter looks awesome!

  32. Laura on November 5, 2013 at 10:57 am

I have 2 big water bottles that I always keep full and with me!

  33. Chrissy on November 5, 2013 at 10:58 am

Drinking a glass of water right when I wake up is the best way for me to get my day started right!

  34. Alicia on November 5, 2013 at 10:58 am

it’s so simple, but I just always keep my bottle with me.

  35. Michelle on November 5, 2013 at 10:58 am

We keep a pitcher of water in the fridge and add lemon or orange sometimes!

  36. elizabeth on November 5, 2013 at 11:01 am

I just try to refill my tervis tumber 4x a day. 2x before lunch and 2x after. I know if I do this I am getting enough H20.

  37. Shanna on November 5, 2013 at 11:01 am

I keep multiple water bottles around my house and office so I never have an excuse not to drink more! I also like to flavor my water with lemon and lime juice and use my Sodastream to make carbonated water which is oh so delicious.

  38. Miranda on November 5, 2013 at 11:02 am

I love adding lemon or mint to my water, it makes it feel like such a treat!

  39. Amanda on November 5, 2013 at 11:08 am

This is a super handy tool to keep in my desk at work. I love adding cucumber and mint to my water for a splash of flavor!

  40. Kristen on November 5, 2013 at 11:09 am

I keep a 24oz water bottle with me at all times and try to fill it up 3x/day at work and once in the evening.

  41. Caitlin on November 5, 2013 at 11:14 am

I carry my nalgene everywhere! I love plain water or water with lemon

  42. Becca on November 5, 2013 at 11:16 am
  43. Emily on November 5, 2013 at 11:16 am

I carry a water bottle all the time, but I also set alarms on my phone throughout the day to remind me to drink some water just in case I get to busy and forget.

  44. Samantha on November 5, 2013 at 11:17 am

My technique for drinking more water is to keep a 32 oz water bottle at my desk. I know that I have to finish 2 before I leave work. When Im home I finish another.

It works well because if its approaching lunch and I havent finished one I start to drink more!

  45. Kimberly on November 5, 2013 at 11:19 am

I make sure I always have ice in my water! The colder the better helps me drink it all day long

  46. Diane on November 5, 2013 at 11:20 am

I use water throughout the day – in my smoothies, infused with cucumbers and mint, and just plain water in my water bottle!

  47. Sheila on November 5, 2013 at 11:20 am

I use an app called Waterlogged. Everytime I drink a bottle or glass of water I log it! Then I can see how much more water I need to drink to meet my goal 🙂

  48. Ellie on November 5, 2013 at 11:26 am

I usually pack a water bottle for work and make myself drink it before I go home.

  49. Naomi on November 5, 2013 at 11:27 am

I use a water bottle with a straw! I seem to drink so much more water when I use a straw. I also love adding lemon slices to switch it up 🙂

  50. tara on November 5, 2013 at 11:27 am

I carry a trusty Nalgene with me to work! Now that it’s cooler, I make myself drink 2 bottles of water along with 2 cups of herbal tea through the work day. I pee a ton but I know it is so good for me!
