Everydrop Water Filter (+ a giveaway!)

[This post is sponsored from Whirlpool® Water. Of course, all opinions are my own. Read on for more details + a giveaway for a lucky reader to get their own EveryDrop™ Water Filter + a $100 gift card!]

I’ve gotten away from my number-focused ways. There was a time when I counted calories judiciously, knew my weight and body fat percentage, and recorded various numbers in a notebook… or let them run wild in my brain. I haven’t weighed myself for months (and prefer to go by how my clothes fit) and no longer keep track of all the little details. The only thing I track now is something that has a huge impact on my skin, energy levels and metabolism: water intake. I have a big Nalgene bottle (32 oz.) and make sure I fill it at least three times throughout the day. (You need 96 oz. of water a day to live– more if you’re active!) Everydrop 1 of 1 4

I always have my water bottle with me, and pack one up for Livi too since she loves to drink water all day. Even when I travel, I’ll put an empty large water bottle in my backpack and fill it once I get through security. It’s better than buying plastic bottles, and this way, I have a water bottle for my trip. Here’s the thing, though: when I travel, the water kind of sketches me out. I’m always hearing about different things that can be found in the water system -ok, and I was traumatized when I read an article about some things that were found in Tucson- so I always figure: the more filtration, the better. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when Whirlpool Water offered to send me an EveryDrop Water Filter to try out. It was much smaller than I imagined, Everydrop 1 of 1 and came in a cute travel case. Everydrop 1 of 1 2 I quickly assembled it, and couldn’t wait to try it out: Everydrop 1 of 1 3 Something that surprised me was how quickly the water came out! It would be so easy to use this between a public water fountain and my bottle. Everydrop 1 of 1 5 In reality, I don’t see myself carrying it around with us all the time -I have too much to lug around as is -but it is definitely something I’ll use while traveling. If you’d like to win your own + a $100 Visa gift card, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post with techniques you use to drink more water. I have a few in this post, but my all-time favorite is to infuse it with fresh fruit and herbs.  You can get up to two entries by completing any of the methods below!

I have realized that cold water is the key for me. When we got a new fridge, I made sure it has a water dispenser. I am also lucky that here at work, we have water coolers around the building. Every time I get up, I fill up the cup or mug that I have on my desk.

I use a Drink water app on my phone. It alerts me to drink water 🙂 I try to drink lemon sparkling water to replace the soda.

I keep my water bottle on my desk right in front of me, so I always see it. Plus I bring it to all my meetings too.

  5. Melanie on November 5, 2013 at 2:11 pm

I try to mix in flavored carbonated water like LaCroix when it get tired of drinking still water. Or mix in lemon juice and stevia to make lemonade.

  6. Brienne on November 5, 2013 at 2:12 pm

I make sure my water bottle is always full before I head off to class or work and do my best to refill it constantly throughout the day!

  7. Ana on November 5, 2013 at 2:14 pm

My trick is having a water bottle always with me, and I do mean ALWAYS!! It goes with me wherever I go, always by my side. It became such a habit that I may forget other things but I never forget my water! I use a reusable bottle, but in case I run out of water or something I always keep a pack of water bottles in my car trunk as well. I am never, NEVER without water with me, I love water!

I put tea bags in my water bottle to make a delicious weak tea. yum!

  9. Amanda on November 5, 2013 at 2:26 pm

I keep a 40oz water bottle on my desk at work, and another one is always going at home. It helps a ton!

  10. Tasha on November 5, 2013 at 2:27 pm

I drink water by constantly having a bottle, 1L or greater on me.

  11. Susan Christy on November 5, 2013 at 2:28 pm

I started taking water to work, because the water in my office building tastes terrible, and I wouldn’t drink any water all day long.

  12. Kelsey on November 5, 2013 at 2:30 pm

I have my Nalgene water bottle with me essentially at all times. A lot of times when I think I am hungry, I am really just thirsty so I try to drink a full 32 oz before my meal.

  13. Elena on November 5, 2013 at 2:31 pm

I have a water bottle on my desk and in the car so I can drink anytime I want

  14. Courtney on November 5, 2013 at 2:33 pm

I drink more water by starting out my day with a big glass! It sets the day up and I tend to keep the hydration going. 🙂

  15. Sara on November 5, 2013 at 2:33 pm

I always have a glass of water with me. I like adding slices of lemon or lime to the water, it gives it such a fresh flavor.

  16. Crysta on November 5, 2013 at 2:34 pm

    Nothing earth shattering here:

Keep a cup/water bottle in plain sight all the time to remind you to drink or refill
I try to drink a glass of water before I eat and another one during my meal
If I feel hungry, I drink first.

My skins looks and feels great when I drink lots of water and that’s great motivation!

  17. Holly on November 5, 2013 at 2:40 pm

Finding teas (like pumpkin spice!) that I enjoy help me get in more water throughout the day.

  18. Alicia @ Treble Tart on November 5, 2013 at 2:41 pm

Wow, this filter look so snazzy! I would love to try it out! I basically drink water all day long, so having a handy filter is always convenient. 🙂

  19. CRYSTAL on November 5, 2013 at 2:42 pm

I like to flavor my water when I get tired of drinking it plain. I will squirt drops of crystal light in it.

  20. Alison W on November 5, 2013 at 2:44 pm

I love water with lemon or cucumbers!

  21. Jessica To on November 5, 2013 at 2:47 pm

I try to drink water while I’m at my desk at work instead of heading for the sodas in the fridge!

  22. Stephanie on November 5, 2013 at 2:49 pm

Sliced lemon is the key for me.. and lots of ice.

  23. Amy T on November 5, 2013 at 2:53 pm

I need to drink more water.

  24. Liz on November 5, 2013 at 2:53 pm

I have a bottle at work and refill it every hour or so, plus at least two huge glasses per meal. I’m thirsty all the time so it’s pretty easy for me to remember to drink enough water.

  25. Michelle on November 5, 2013 at 2:56 pm

I was literally just talking about needing to drink more water! I have a 32 oz bottle that I have been trying to fill up at least 3 times per day. It would be nice to have the filter to use with it!

  26. Britt on November 5, 2013 at 2:57 pm

I set deadlines for myself by 20 oz increments. So 20 oz before I leave to work, another 20 by 10 am, etc. We also add either fresh lime juice or apple cidar vinegar drinks to flavor it a little. YUM!

  27. Melissa C. on November 5, 2013 at 2:57 pm

I prefer to drink my water room temperature…always having water with me is a constant reminder to hydrate and try to get a gallon of water..when the gallon is gone..IM DONE! I do know I feel a huge difference when I get all of my water in for the day!

  28. Kelly on November 5, 2013 at 3:03 pm

Lemons!! Love them in my water!

  29. Ann on November 5, 2013 at 3:08 pm

In the winter I’m much more likely to drink hot tea, so I’ve started drinking hot water with lemon all day. It warms me up, and keeps the water coming!

  30. Lindsey on November 5, 2013 at 3:14 pm

I have a water bottle that I carry around everywhere. I try to drink one full bottle before my daughter goes down for a nap, one during, and one after. I am really easily grossed out by water from other sources than my kitchen sink (even from the bathroom sink grosses me out). So carrying around my own water where I know where it’s source is helps me drink more.

  31. Andrea on November 5, 2013 at 3:26 pm

Drink a glass before meals and first thing in the morning.

  32. Summer on November 5, 2013 at 3:27 pm

I use a plastic 24oz cup with a straw because I drink more through a straw! I try to fill it up at least 3 times a day (maybe I should increase to 4).

  33. Lisa on November 5, 2013 at 3:31 pm

I have an enormous water bottle that holds 64 ounces. I know if I drink all that then im good for the day.

  34. Kelly F. on November 5, 2013 at 3:32 pm

I use the MyFitnessPal app on my phone to keep track of my water intake. It’s something I’m trying to be more aware of and consume more water daily!

  35. Laura on November 5, 2013 at 3:33 pm

I have a 32 oz bottle that I always carry and I make sure I drink it all before lunch, again before I leave work and then by bed time. I also keep it with me when I sleep because I always wake up in the middle of the night and need water.

  36. Mallory on November 5, 2013 at 3:34 pm

I am obsessed with my camelbak eddy (or bite & suck, as my kids call it). It makes drinking water hands-free, and I like that I’m not just sipping, I’m chewing too. I know that must sound so weird. My goal is to drink three of them through out the day. If I have to drink water in a glass, it’s just not the same. Camelbak bite & suck all the way 🙂 I do miss my bobble though. I liked how that was filtered in the bottle.

  37. Kathryn on November 5, 2013 at 3:34 pm

I try to keep a water bottle around me at all times, and find that helps me to drink enough throughout the day without thought.

  38. Alex on November 5, 2013 at 3:37 pm

I drink so much more water if I am drinking out of a straw!

  39. Leah O on November 5, 2013 at 3:39 pm

We just moved to Colorado from Washington State and I’m pregnant so I have found that I need a ton of water throughout the day! I have a huge 50 oz water bottle that I try to have 2 of during the day plus I try to get in some of my favorite combo of Whole foods brand citrus blend sparkling water + recharge. Its so hard to get enough though!

  40. Lisa on November 5, 2013 at 3:40 pm

During the month of October, I tracked my water intake by making a chart and carrying it around with me to keep myself on track. I carry a 24oz bottle w/ me everywhere so that I can refill it wherever I am. I find that I actually drink room temperature water the best, so I don’t worry about my ice melting 🙂

  41. Kristi on November 5, 2013 at 3:44 pm

A straw! I always buy water bottles with straws because I will drink at least 2x more. Clearly, I’m too lazy to bring the bottle all the way up to my mouth.

  42. Lauren @ Focused To Be Fit on November 5, 2013 at 3:45 pm

I keep a tumbler cup with a straw at my desk. For some reason, I drink more when I have a straw. I make sure to guzzle it down often!

  43. Marissa on November 5, 2013 at 3:47 pm

I like to use an app called ‘waterlogged’ which sends me helpful reminders during the day. Also, I care a refillable water bottle with me, so I can constantly refill it during my workday. I try to make sure to have one glass first thing in the morning & one last thing at night. All of these thing combined have worked really well for me. 🙂

  44. Kristin on November 5, 2013 at 3:53 pm

I also try to give myself a goal of how many times I will fill up my water bottle in a day. I also make sure I constantly have water with me whether it be in a glass while studying or reading or in my water bottle at school. I still have some work to do on this though!

  45. Christina C on November 5, 2013 at 3:54 pm

I carry my water bottle constantly but don’t have to try too hard because I love water!

  46. Eliza on November 5, 2013 at 3:59 pm

I carry a 32 Oz. Mason Jar around with me at work. I feel much better drinking out of glass versus plastic.. it makes me drink more too!

  47. Kimberly on November 5, 2013 at 4:04 pm

I have a cup on my desk at work that I fill up all the time. At home i take a bottle with me to bed and in the morning I make sure to drink what is left over in the bottle first thing when I wake up. I also drink lots of tea to help with the intake.

  48. Ilana on November 5, 2013 at 4:08 pm

    I’m all about lemon water!

  49. Linda on November 5, 2013 at 4:15 pm

I drink a big glass of water as soon as I get up and with my breakfast. I track my water in an app and try to drink water whenever I walk by y glass.
