Everydrop Water Filter (+ a giveaway!)

[This post is sponsored from Whirlpool® Water. Of course, all opinions are my own. Read on for more details + a giveaway for a lucky reader to get their own EveryDrop™ Water Filter + a $100 gift card!]

I’ve gotten away from my number-focused ways. There was a time when I counted calories judiciously, knew my weight and body fat percentage, and recorded various numbers in a notebook… or let them run wild in my brain. I haven’t weighed myself for months (and prefer to go by how my clothes fit) and no longer keep track of all the little details. The only thing I track now is something that has a huge impact on my skin, energy levels and metabolism: water intake. I have a big Nalgene bottle (32 oz.) and make sure I fill it at least three times throughout the day. (You need 96 oz. of water a day to live– more if you’re active!) Everydrop 1 of 1 4

I always have my water bottle with me, and pack one up for Livi too since she loves to drink water all day. Even when I travel, I’ll put an empty large water bottle in my backpack and fill it once I get through security. It’s better than buying plastic bottles, and this way, I have a water bottle for my trip. Here’s the thing, though: when I travel, the water kind of sketches me out. I’m always hearing about different things that can be found in the water system -ok, and I was traumatized when I read an article about some things that were found in Tucson- so I always figure: the more filtration, the better. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when Whirlpool Water offered to send me an EveryDrop Water Filter to try out. It was much smaller than I imagined, Everydrop 1 of 1 and came in a cute travel case. Everydrop 1 of 1 2 I quickly assembled it, and couldn’t wait to try it out: Everydrop 1 of 1 3 Something that surprised me was how quickly the water came out! It would be so easy to use this between a public water fountain and my bottle. Everydrop 1 of 1 5 In reality, I don’t see myself carrying it around with us all the time -I have too much to lug around as is -but it is definitely something I’ll use while traveling. If you’d like to win your own + a $100 Visa gift card, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post with techniques you use to drink more water. I have a few in this post, but my all-time favorite is to infuse it with fresh fruit and herbs.  You can get up to two entries by completing any of the methods below!

In the summer I grow a lot of mint! Then everyday I have fresh mint water and it is to die for! I make sure to always have water on me so I’m not tempted to drink sugary drinks! A tip for the day is to grow extra mint and then freeze it and use it in the winter! It’s cheap and fresh!

I keep a gallon jug at my desk and tell myself I have to drink the whole thing before I leave for the day. Makes a huge difference for me!

In order to drink more water, I’ve started filling up two water bottles everyday to keep at my desk! I try to refill both of them every couple of hours.

  5. Erica Rose on November 6, 2013 at 12:02 am

I add lime slices, and if I’m feeling sassy, some cucumber and mint, too. I also have gotten kinda obsessed with drinking loose-leaf tea. I stay SO hydrated now, and trying new teas has made it fun.

  6. Katie on November 6, 2013 at 12:08 am

When I start to feel hungary at work, I drink a glass of water first.

  7. Heather on November 6, 2013 at 12:17 am

i always carry my camelbak waterbottle with me! especially love it when i travel so i don’t have to buy $4 waterbottles in the airport… more and more airports are starting to have a filling dispenser in the water fountains which i love!

  8. Tammy on November 6, 2013 at 12:45 am

I have a big plastic Starbucks insulated cup with a straw. I always fill it up with ice first, so that when the water would normally be gone, the ice has melted. I end up drinking more this way since I’m drinking the water, and then the melted ice as well.

  9. Megan on November 6, 2013 at 12:50 am

I drink at least 2-3 32oz. camelbaks of water a day. I’m motivated by knowing how much better I feel when I drink water. I’ve found that my body just craves lots of water after having this habit for quite a few years, which makes it easier of course 🙂 If water really doesn’t sound good then I listen to my body and have something else like a hot tea or even a sparkling water.

  10. Jillian on November 6, 2013 at 12:55 am

I love adding slices of lemon to help me drink more H20!

  11. Kimberly Michele on November 6, 2013 at 1:03 am

I add fruit or herbs he night before to infuse it, and always take a lemonwater and regular water bottle with me when I go out and drink both, then another in the morning at night!:)

  12. Sam on November 6, 2013 at 1:11 am

I fill up a gallon jug of water every day and then refill my water bottle from it through out the day. I usually have no issue drinking it all!

  13. Emily on November 6, 2013 at 1:17 am

In addition to keeping a water bottle with me throughout the day, I drink a full glass of water first thing when I get up in the morning and choose water over other drinks when we eat out.

  14. Carrie on November 6, 2013 at 1:34 am

I like adding frozen berries. At first they are like ice cubes, keeping the water cold, but then as they melt they add their flavor the water. I live in Tucson too, so carrying around a water bottle is like second nature to me.

  15. Ryan on November 6, 2013 at 2:21 am

Sometimes lemon gets me to drink my water, other times I have to resort to products like Mio. Haha.

  16. Amye on November 6, 2013 at 4:35 am

I add fresh fruit or lemons to help me drink more water.

  17. Darien on November 6, 2013 at 5:12 am

I love cucumber in my ice water, but don’t do it all the time. Really, I find that of I just have a bottle I like with me, I’m more likely to chug water. Besides that, I can be in a bad habit of drinking hardly any!

  18. Vicki mc on November 6, 2013 at 5:30 am

I have water drinking competitions with my friend across the hall.i drink way more water those days.

  19. Sarah on November 6, 2013 at 5:44 am

I love putting in fresh fruit or some mint to jazz things up a bit. I also keep a water bottle at my desk so I can keep track of how many times I fill it up throughout the day.

  20. Urban Wife on November 6, 2013 at 5:58 am

I leave glasses of water or refillable water bottles around different parts of the house. Also, I always carry my insulated (I love iced water!) bottle everywhere with me.

  21. Kimberly on November 6, 2013 at 6:17 am

I absolutely looove water so it isn’t really hard for me to drink it, but somedays I reach for other beverages. To make sure I stay hydrated I have a large glass of water before my coffee when I wake up, I have a water bottle that I fill up and drink once on my way to work and once on my way home, and another large glass before bed. In addition to all the other daily water.

  22. Jessica A on November 6, 2013 at 6:52 am

If I start out my day with a big glass of water, I always end up drinking more throughout the day! I also like to leave my water bottle out of my bag, so I have to see it and carry it, making it more likely that I’ll remember to drink!

  23. Donna on November 6, 2013 at 7:15 am

I love water with lemons or limes. Just fill my wide mouth bottle with H2O and squeeze a little juice for a fresh tangy pick me up. This little gadget sounds great! Thank-you.

  24. Nicole on November 6, 2013 at 7:22 am

I usually drink ice water and love changing it up with a little lemon or lime or fruit.

  25. Ashley Bible on November 6, 2013 at 7:30 am

This would be great for filling up my water bottle at school! I’m a teacher and all of those water fountain germs ick me out!

  26. Lauren on November 6, 2013 at 7:31 am

I put Lemon or cucumber slices in my water to keep it interesting

  27. Jen on November 6, 2013 at 7:36 am

I sometimes drink a glass of water before I eat meal to prevent myself from overeating, but it’s also a great way to get part of my daily water intake!

  28. Shanna on November 6, 2013 at 7:45 am

Some things I do to increase my water intake: 1) keep water bottles at my office and at home, 2) try it with some lemon or lime juice, and 3) use my SodaStream for a little carbonated water! Bringing in some variety usually helps.

  29. Gina G on November 6, 2013 at 7:57 am

I always keep my water bottle on me and I always make sure to refill it in between classes.
    This looks awesome! 🙂

  30. Lisa Brown on November 6, 2013 at 8:08 am

I leave water everywhere I am or going to be, for long periods of time, so that it reminds me to drink more water.

I keep a camelback with me wherever I go! The little one loves it so much that I need to buy her her own. I used to have one that had a built in filter, but I lost it along the way and haven’t been able to find one at our local Target.

  33. Ashley V on November 6, 2013 at 8:27 am

My giant water bottle recently broke when I dropped it on the perfectly wrong spot, so I’m going with a slightly smaller one. I take it to work, and my goal is to have to refill it twice at work. I usually put lemon in there and haven’t really branched out to other fruits, but I’d love to give something else a try!

  34. Kate on November 6, 2013 at 8:46 am

I like to put fresh fruit and herbs in my water. I try different combinations to keep it interesting. But I make a point to have a glass of water when I get up, two before each meal and at least one in between meals and with snacks. It keeps me hydrated throughout the day but also keeps me from snacking when I mistake thirst for hunger.

  35. Faith on November 6, 2013 at 8:47 am

What a cute water filter. I love that it’s portable. Drinking more water has made a huge difference for me!

  36. Faith on November 6, 2013 at 8:50 am
  37. Melanie on November 6, 2013 at 8:54 am

My trick to drinking more water is to have mini water goals for the day. I keep my 32 oz nalgene at my desk and almost always have it finished by lunch, then fill ‘er up, finish by the end of my work day, and then have at least one more full nalgene worth of water after work. I feel naked without my water bottle with me! 🙂

  38. Shawna on November 6, 2013 at 9:23 am

For some reason I drink a lot more water when I’m at work, so I always bring a 32 oz. water bottle and make sure I refill it at least 2 times during the day.

  39. Lisa on November 6, 2013 at 9:44 am

I use my best effort to alway have a water bottle with me at all times. Now making sure I drink it is often a struggle I try my best to get to 3 refills but often I don’t reach that goal but make my self feel better thinking about the coffee and tea I also consumed even though I know its not the best source of water consumption.

  40. Katie C on November 6, 2013 at 9:45 am

I love to add lemon and mint leaves to my water! It makes it so much tastier 🙂 I also drink green tea instead of coffee- a great sneaky way to get your hydration in. Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!

  42. Heather S on November 6, 2013 at 10:06 am

I keep a large water bottle with me at all times. Having it next me me at my desk helps my drink it and refill it throughout the day!

  43. Heather S on November 6, 2013 at 10:06 am
  44. Yvonne on November 6, 2013 at 10:30 am

I add citrus to my water but I am also sketchy about public water and my office doesn’t have a clean fountain (there are just five of us here) and I could totally use on of these!

  45. Kelly S on November 6, 2013 at 10:46 am

I set markers for myself on my Nalgene to be sure I drink enough throughout the day. I typically try to refill 3 times!

  46. Monica D on November 6, 2013 at 10:54 am

I always fill my water bottle before I go bed so I can be sure to drink it first thing in the morning!

  47. Katie D. on November 6, 2013 at 10:54 am

Always having my water bottle filled and ready helps me drink more water!

  48. Baylee D on November 6, 2013 at 11:46 am

I try to fill my camelback up three times during my 12 hours shifts to keep myself hydrated and awake!

  49. a. on November 6, 2013 at 11:52 am

I like to add lemon or lime slices in my water. but usually I will just keep in mind that I need to drink close to a gallon of water a day. at the office I bring my own water bottle and make sure to be drinking and filling it up throughout the workday. I would love this Filtration system!!

  50. Jill on November 6, 2013 at 12:02 pm

Like you, I make it a goal to refill my water water at least 3x a day. I also make and drink a lot of unsweetened hot tea throughout the day.
