Friday Faves

Helloooooo. How are you? I hope you’re having a wonderful Friday. The girls are off school today and also had yesterday off for rodeo vacation. Rodeo is a big deal in Tucson – we used to go to the parade when I was younger but that’s all I’ve really experienced – and it’s definitely a Tucson thing to get two days off school for rodeo. (I was also realllllyyyyyyy tempted to pack up the fam for San Diego this morning, but we’ll be hanging out around here this weekend.)

Yesterday, I took the girls with me to Telos so I could get in a workout. (A couple of friends also brought their kids, so they colored and hung out together.) After an intense strength workout and circuit, we headed to Get Air so the girls could jump their hearts out + acai bowls at Pure Love Juice.

Today we’ll probably get into some more adventures. The girls requested rock climbing and the Pilot is back from another trip to Georgia. He had to go back and forth a couple of times for work so he was gone again all week, but thankfully the traveling is FINALLY done (for now). We can actually find a bit of a routine and also start the new sleep plan from the specialist (pray for my soul k thanks).

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my fave reads, wears, finds, and eats from the week. I love hearing about your faves, too, if you’d like to shout out something you’re lovin’ in the comments section.

Family:

– All of your amazing comments on the homecoming video here on the blog, and also on Instagram. It was so much fun to put together and I know it will be something we look back on years later.

(Yes, the Pilot stopped in Ireland on the way back! He got the CUTEST sweaters for the girls and said it was incredibly beautiful and the people were so kind and wonderful. I definitely would love to visit eventually.)

Fitness:

I tried 3 workout apps, and here’s what happened. Quite a few great reviews for Obe in the comments section. I’ll give it a whirl and report back!

My favorite functional core exercises.

10-minute glutes workout.

Latest post for WebMD with 5 exercises to jump start your fitness routine.

Good eats:

This chicken marinade is bomb.

A simple weeknight dinner recipe.

Can’t wait to try this green curry.

Fashion + beauty:

Love this striped top for spring!

I ordered P another pair of her favorite rain boots and these ones for Livi. I think it’s rained more this year in Tucson than it ever has, so they’re definitely getting a lot of wear.

How cute is this swimsuit and this one? <— I’m always on the lookout for a “mom suit” I can wear and chase my kids around the beach while still looking cute

Scoping out these flats (similar to the ones I got last summer) but not sure what color to get. Probably nude because let’s be real, I’m not that shoe-adventurous.

Read, listen, watch:

Roma.

OH, ROMA. It was just one of those movies that sticks with you, and I appreciated the slower pace that wasn’t so “in your face”; it was almost meditative. The story immediately captured me, and while some parts were difficult to watch, it really tugged at my heart and was beautifully done. I’m excited to watch the Oscars this weekend and see how some of my favorite movies from the year fare. (I loooooved the music in A Star is Born and totally think that Rami Malek needs to win for Bohemian Rhapsody. A quick google search told me he was in Twilight: Breaking Dawn and Night at the Museum and I think he’s paid his dues haha.)

Incredibly feature on Beautycounter! If you’re looking to clean up your skincare, hit me up. <3

Hope you have a happy Friday and a great weekend!

Gina! I listened to the episode with the Pilot yesterday and loved it. I can’t believe I haven’t met him yet! One day I hope hehe! Anywho, I’m SOOO wanting to watch Bohemian Rhapsody now that it’s out, so I hope we can make that happen soon, but like — movies over two hours are hard, but at least I know it will be worth it. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend together. xoxox

I have a bathing suit that’s super similar to the first one…except mine was ASOS and only $35 for the top! I absolutely love it and get some many compliments on it.
