Friday Faves

Hi friends! How are you? Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week. It rained all day yesterday which was such a wonderful Tucson treat. It felt cozy and wintery, which was magnified by all of our Christmas decorations. Can we just keep the house decorated all year?

Holiday decoration of snowman on dining room table with two cranberry centerpieces and a sign that says Merry

Holiday decorations on an entertainment center, including vintage Santa figurines and an illuminated garland

End table with bronze and gold holiday decorations, gold Christmas trees and candles

And have an enormous piney tree in our living room all year, too?

Ok, cool.

(Christmas doormat is here!)

We also got Caro this Christmas sweater from Petco and to our total shock and surprise, she loves wearing it. I think it’s like a thunder shirt for her; she’s seemed so calm and snuggly since we put it on. I guess she likes wearing sweaters! Bella would instantly turn into a statue whenever we tried to dress her up for holidays.

Blast from the past Bella Clause photo:

(I miss her so much it hurts. I still put my hoodie or sweater at the base of the bed each night before going to sleep because she loved to snuggle up in it. I can’t stop myself from doing it yet.)

What are you up to this weekend? I’m hoping to take the crew to Christmas lights at the Botanical Gardens, record some videos for ya’ll, finish plans for Month 2 for personal training clients, and wrap gifts while watching Christmas Vacation.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

Fitness + good eats:

Peloton bike bootcamp. I finally tried the bike bootcamp this week and was BLOWN AWAY. I loved it so much! I took a 45-minute workout with Jess Sims (one of my fave strength trainers from the platform) and I thought the circuits were really challenging and effective, plus I could work harder on the bike intervals since we weren’t on the bike very long. It was a solid mix of strength and cardio – can’t wait to try another one!

Sunbasket’s kimchi fried rice! The Pilot made this while I was on a Beautycounter call and it was amaaaazing. The leftovers the following day were perfect for lunch, too.

This giant salad I enjoyed a couple of days this week: spring mix, beets, Primal Kitchen dressing, brown rice, and sautéed sprouted tofu.

Can’t wait to try this lentil dish.

Dance and sculpt workout you can do at home.

Check out these Paleo peppermint brownies as a festive treat!

Can’t wait to make some of this holiday spice sangria.

Online fitness classes! I’ve been hosting some free online fitness classes (we did barre last week and HIIT + Strength this week!). If you want the details for the next one, make sure you’re subscribed to my newsletter list here.

Read, watch, listen:

Schitt’s Creek. OMGGGGGG. I knew people were obsessed with this series but wasn’t intrigued by it at all or motivated to start watching it. The Pilot came home from a trip and was like, “I started watching this show and I think you’ll really like it.” After episode 1, I was hooked. It’s hilarious and quirky, the banter is sarcastic and witty, and it’s pretty much everything I love about a show. David is my favorite. Just watch it; you’ll love it.

Check out this week’s podcast episode here with Tina from Carrots ’n’ Cake!

What smells do you love? Books, red wine, Christmas candles and… paint top my list.

Some funny memes from lately:

Fashion + beauty:

Finally got to take these new boots for a spin! I’d been waiting for rain so I could finally wear them. SO cute with jeans and a sweater. They’re on sale right now, too!

This lululemon pullover. My Beautycounter mentor surprised me with a gift card to celebrate my latest promotion (wahoo!!!) so I ordered this cute pullover and these Align leggings. I’ve worn the pullover a few times this week already! It’s super warm and I love the color.

If you’re looking for holiday gifts, check out my gift guide for her, for him, supporting small businesses, and for the kiddos. Lots of ideas in these posts if you’re shopping this weekend! I’ll share teacher gifts and stocking stuffers next week!

Heads up: Equilibria is 15% off sitewide starting today and you can layer it with my code FITNESSISTA for an extra 15% off! This is a secret treat (they’re not advertising it on the site) but if you use my code and spend $60 (after discounts) you get a jar of relief crew ($58) FREE. This is an incredible promo if you’ve been wanting to try CBD or stock up. Check it out here and you can read an update about my experience here.

Happy Friday, friends! What are you up to this weekend? Any fun traditions or new things you’re doing this year to still feel festive while staying safe?

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today.

    Love your tree!

I think the title “Schitt’s Creek” made me not interested in the show either, but a friend highly recommended it and I ended up binging earlier this year. Hilarious! I think it gets better every season too

100% on Schitt’s Creek! I watched the first episode a few years ago and just wasn’t into it…. started it again in quarantine and love it! It’s such a fun show to watch an episode or two of here and there when I need a pick me up but don’t want to binge. David is def. my favorite too 🙂

    • Fitnessista on December 13, 2020 at 6:30 pm

pier 1 for most (rest in peace. wah!) and the best one that lights up under the TV – it’s like 8 ft – is from costco last year.
