Grocery Cardio

Heyyyy 😀 How are you? Hope you’re having an amazing day so far. Thank you so much for your kind words and home buying tips! Like I said, ya’ll always have fabulous advice.

I’m going to go ahead and start off by saying that Hot Tub Time Machine was not my fave movie.

image

In all fairness, I gave it about 10 minutes before I called it quits and decided to tackle my inbox and take a nap.

The Pilot LOVES it. We definitely have different tastes in movies 😉

This morning, I was really excited to check out a new-to-me cardio sculpt and tone class. When I got to the studio, the parking lot was blocked off for the street fair (which starts tomorrow!) and I couldn’t find a parking spot for the life of me :/

So instead, I ended up at this one place:

whole paycheck

Whole Paycheck is totally cardio- my heart rate was up the whole time 😉 Heh heh.

I grabbed some macaroon-making supplies + stuff we were out of:

groceries

Chicken (the Pilot requested *this* stuffed chicken), fancy goat cheese (Bucheron is the good stuff) and a new-to-me breakfast grain: brown rice farina

groceries (2)

The stats were fairly similar to oats, so I thought it would be fun to give it a whirl for today’s b-fast.

stats

I cooked the brown rice cereal on medium heat, with water, almond milk, sea salt and some organic frozen strawberries

texture

(The texture was similar to steel-cut oats or cream of wheat)

Enjoyed with cinnamon, a crumbled amazeball

bfast (2)

and tea 🙂

bfast

We’re off to meet with the realtor and have the dadoo check out the place. He builds custom homes, so if there’s something wrong with it, he’ll find it 😀 We just feel comfortable having him go through it before we continue the contract, negotiation, inspection, etc shebang. While we’re there I’ll also take more pics to post.

After that, gym time and dinner at a friend’s house!

See ya later today <3

xoxo

Gina

Something to think:

All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.

TOTALLY agree with on the movie. I like cheesy funny movies but it was just STUPID. I turned it off as well, but at the 25 minute mark 🙂

I’m the same way with my dad 🙂 He works on cars so I can never doing anything auto-related without his input (wanted or not…!) Good luck today with the house!

Thank you for saving me the trouble of watching that movie. I knew it looked lame. I do love John Cusack though, but I need to recognize that I like 1980s John Cusack — not the current one!

  10. jenna on March 31, 2011 at 1:39 pm

I totally agree about Hot Tub Time Machine! I was not a fan and fell asleep about 15 minutes in, however, my husband loved it! Must be a “boy” movie!

  13. Amara@GirlinaWhirl on March 31, 2011 at 1:45 pm

Thanks for your quote! I just read his biography and loved it. This was “Lawrence of Arabia” and if anyone knows about dreaming with eyes wide open it’s him. He was amazing. I hope hope hope the house comes through! My fingers are crossed!

  14. Kristina @ spabettie on March 31, 2011 at 1:46 pm

I don’t know if I even made it TEN minutes … we kept the movie on, but both of us had our laptops out and we were talking / working the whole time. 😉

yes to Whole Foods workout – you can zip around the aisles fast!! 😀

  15. Nicole @ Fresh & Fit on March 31, 2011 at 1:52 pm

Good luck with the house! I actually liked Hot Tub Time mechine. I think its because I love 80 music. It is also one of the better movies I have been forced to watch. StepBrother, Grownups, Talledega Nights,Semi-Pro, you get the picture…

  16. Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life on March 31, 2011 at 1:53 pm

That movie didn’t really interest me either…looked a little corny!
I’ve been enjoying creamy buckwheat for breakfast lately as a substitute for oats, and it ROCKS! 🙂

  20. J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) on March 31, 2011 at 2:20 pm

My heart rate goes up at Whole Paycheck, too! LOL So excting!! 😀 Wish we had one closer. 🙁

  21. Katie @ Nourishing Flourishing on March 31, 2011 at 2:26 pm

I’ve been thinking about trying some of these different gf breakfast porridge/hot cereals. Wondering how this one compares to the quinoa flakes…hmm. Best of luck with the house! 🙂

  22. Flo (Coconut Chronicles) on March 31, 2011 at 2:26 pm

Bahaha. My heart rate totally always raises by like 50% when in WF, too 🙂

  28. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on March 31, 2011 at 3:01 pm

That’s so cool that you can get your dad’s expert opinion on the casa before going any further with it all.

WFs stash…nice! I remember the days when I used to shop there. Not anymore so it’s fun to see your finds.

Farina! A great grain and yes, sort of like a cream of wheat texture/taste to me, too.

I am so excited for your guys with your house!! Can’t wait to hear about how it all unfolds 🙂

  29. courtney @ cupcakedynamite on March 31, 2011 at 3:04 pm

  31. Linda on March 31, 2011 at 3:16 pm

I loved Hot Tub Time Machine (and I’m a girl)! I was totally convinced it would be awful, but my DH made me watch it and it turned out great. Maybe you need to get past those first 10 minutes?

  32. Carolyn @ Lovin' Losing on March 31, 2011 at 3:28 pm

Too bad you didn’t give the movie more time. It was hilarious! But, you definitely have to be an 80’s baby to like it.

  33. Chelsa on March 31, 2011 at 3:32 pm

    I love the quote

  34. Elyse on March 31, 2011 at 3:35 pm

Just a heads up they sell Bob’s Red Mill at Target and it might be cheaper than at Whole Paycheck (: They sell Bob’s Red Mill in 2 places (that I know of at Target)…
    1. down the cereal aisle.
    2. down the baking aisle.

^ I’m all about being frugal and saving a few bucks so sorry if I sound like a dork!

I can not wait to see your house pictures. You are getting me all excited for when the boyfriend and I finally get married and buy our own place!!!

  35. Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries on March 31, 2011 at 3:49 pm

I hate when my workout plans fall through! But Whole Foods is ALWAYS a good back-up plan 🙂

  36. Emily on March 31, 2011 at 3:52 pm

I just did the same cardio routine! Mine included a five-block walk home with two heavy bags in my arms, so I’m calling it an arms workout too 🙂

  37. RhodeyGirl on March 31, 2011 at 4:01 pm

I’m so excited about the house! From the one pic you posted it looks beautiful. I love it and I hope you get it!

  40. Sheena on March 31, 2011 at 4:26 pm

If you and Señor Piloto like goat cheese, you must try Cypress Grove goat cheese…I buy it at whole foods. The “Purple Haze” flavor is TO.DIE.FOR !!!

  41. Dana Marie on March 31, 2011 at 4:47 pm

what kind of amazeballs are you makin these days since you’re off AB for lent? That chicken stuffed sounds good.

  43. Stacy @ LoveDiscoveryGratitude on March 31, 2011 at 4:49 pm

Yeah yesterday was my grocery day, too! fuuuuun. 😉

I like that quote you posted. I definitely see myself as a dreamer and a do-er. My boyfriends tells me I’m one of the most passionate person he has met- when i truly want something I go for it! 🙂

I had today’s quote in my ‘quote book’ as a 13 year old. I always really loved it.

  45. MMiller on March 31, 2011 at 5:37 pm

Great idea to have your dad check out the house first!! Can’t wait to see more pics! And I agree with you about the movie! But I sat and watched the whole thing!

  46. Sable @ SquatLikeALady on March 31, 2011 at 5:54 pm

The blogworld is full of amazing quotes today! Thank you!

I HATED that movie. I loved most of the actors in it in other things so I stuck out the whole thing waiting for it to get better…it never did =( Such a disappointment.

  47. lindsay on March 31, 2011 at 5:55 pm

walking around the store is cardio, right? hehe. I bet the pilot is happy to be home and with your home cooked meals. I always love doing that when my hubs comes home. Whatever he wants!

  48. Lindsey on March 31, 2011 at 6:18 pm

Hi! I just wanted to say, I did the exact same thing when me and my boyfriend tried to watch that movie. I zoned out and did other things because I thought it was awful while he watched the whole thing and thought it was okay. lol

I think it’s funny how you have a Wicked mug! I love Wicked and saw it for the first time live about a year and a half ago. I also saw Phantom of the Opera and I got a mug when I saw it! haha It’s my favorite mug 🙂

Thank you for all the wonderful posts!

    • Fitnessista on March 31, 2011 at 6:37 pm

thank YOU for hanging out with me 🙂

  49. Leslie on March 31, 2011 at 7:36 pm

I don’t know why, but I love when bloggies show their grocery loot. 🙂 I love Whole Paycheck too, although I can’t go that often because it takes my whole paycheck!!! 😉

  50. Annie on March 31, 2011 at 7:37 pm

I thought Hot Tub Time Machine was hysterical! The boy and I were surprised at how funny it was. It did take a few minutes to get to the good stuff, though.
