Infamous Egg Puff

Hey guys! IT’S FRIDAY!!! Wahoooooo! πŸ˜€

This is a quickie since I’ve got a few appointments before I pack up and we hit the road to Orlando, but I thought I’d post a little video for ya’ll.

This video is how to make an egg puff. It’s super easy, but sometimes it’s more helpful to see how something’s done rather than just reading about it.

Hope you enjoy πŸ˜€

See ya on the road!
xoxo,

Gina

I’ve always been sooo afraid to make my eggs in the micro! You make them look so good, though! πŸ™‚ I will try…and maybe add some cheese.

  2. Sarah @ THE FOODIE DIARIES on March 5, 2010 at 9:04 am

I’ve had SO many microwave egg-plosions bc I never check. I think my microwave will always have egg splatter in there no matter how hard I scrub. Btw, you’re stunning and need a food network show asap. Just sayin.

  3. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on March 5, 2010 at 9:09 am

Yay for this video! I’ve always wondered how to make them, so I’m glad for the how-to! Have a great road trip πŸ™‚

Thanks for the instructional video πŸ™‚ I tried making an egg white puff the other day but it stuck to the bowl πŸ™ I’ll try some non-stick spray. No more frying pans to wash! Woohoo!

  7. Nikki on March 5, 2010 at 9:27 am

Hi Gina! Are there any water infused drinks you’d suggest (low/no calorie)? I’m looking for something w/o sugar substitutes (i.e. no crystal lite). Thanks =)

  8. Nikki on March 5, 2010 at 9:28 am

    PS good luck!!

  9. Ange on March 5, 2010 at 9:30 am

  10. Ellen on March 5, 2010 at 9:32 am

Thanks for the tutorial! I can’t believe making eggs is that easy. I’m definitely going to try this. Besides being quick, it’s one less pan I have to clean!

You’re so cute, your video made me smile. My mom used to always make us egg puffs in the microwave while growing up– easier, faster, and less dishes!

  17. Lauren @ Eater not a runner on March 5, 2010 at 9:54 am

I’ve always wanted to use the micro for eggs but never knew how, thanks!

  21. Catherine on March 5, 2010 at 10:17 am

I make these all the time ever since I worked in a Bagel shop and saw how much easier it was to make fluffy egg white sammies on bagels. Good luck with the race chica!

  22. Lisa on March 5, 2010 at 10:21 am

I love your egg puffs; especially w/ your recommended Herdez salsa on top. Good luck on the race and have fun.

  25. Amara on March 5, 2010 at 10:27 am

Gina –where did you get that oil spritzer? I that was as great a tutorial as the egg puff, how to use that and how well it worked. I had one before, but it kept getting clogged.

    • Fitnessista on March 5, 2010 at 11:10 am

      hey amara,
it’s from williams sonoma- about $20? it works wonderfully.

  26. Angie on March 5, 2010 at 10:30 am

After being vegan for over a year, eggs were very welcome back in my life πŸ™‚ I was always so terrified of microwaving them, and now they’re one of my go-to proteins. So fast and delicious! Not scary at all πŸ™‚

  27. Abbey on March 5, 2010 at 10:33 am

I have never seen or heard of this before! Do you put your own oil in it?? I need one it looks so handy. Also- good look on the run!!! Hope you’re feeling ready. I am rooting for you! Gina, gina, gina!

    • Fitnessista on March 5, 2010 at 11:08 am

you have the most annoying voice ever. like omigod?!!! it’s a shame too because you seem like such a nice person. unfortunately, your speaking voice makes you sound stupid πŸ™

    • Fitnessista on March 5, 2010 at 11:16 am

      ok…
i think you’d know from reading my blog that i am definitely not stupid
your comment doesn’t make you seem like a nice person…

      • Fitnessista on March 5, 2010 at 11:21 am

PS i can tell from the ip address who actually wrote this comment

        • brittney on March 5, 2010 at 12:49 pm

Haha, gotta love IP tracking. The haters are usually too dim to know how the back end of blogs work. πŸ™‚

    • Ami on March 5, 2010 at 11:38 am

Your comment makes you sound stupid!

    • Shelly on March 5, 2010 at 12:04 pm

    • Angela (Oh She Glows) on March 5, 2010 at 12:29 pm

I actually love your voice. It’s very nice and you don’t yell or talk too fast. Perfect in my opinion.

PS! I loved watching the video! and I 2nd the request for the Bfast cookie video! I tried it once and it was a disaster lol I think watching it it may be easier haha =)

Thanks for the video! You have the cutest voice, don’t listen to that rude comment above. You should pitch yourself to the food network as a raw chef, I think you’d be great! πŸ˜€

    • Fitnessista on March 5, 2010 at 12:04 pm

i would love that! i definitely think they need a vegetarian chef on the show πŸ™‚

Thanks for the video! I have never microwaved an egg before, I guess it I do it the long way!!! Now I can make/have eggs a lot more often, since its so quick πŸ™‚

  41. Abbey on March 5, 2010 at 11:33 am

LOL & WTF @ bori–wow. just wow. what planet did you come from? it’s probably best if you just crawl back under that rock you’ve probably been living under for the past 10 years and try to think of something productive to do, rather than dropping 12 year-old insults on a successful food blogger’s page.

    ps- GTFO.

  42. debbie on March 5, 2010 at 11:35 am

Hi Gina! I LOVE your blog! It’s an everyday inspiration to eat healthy, workout, and try new things for me. I’d been wondering how to make the egg pugg, so thanks for the video! I don’t know why rude people even bother to comment…

Also, don’t worry about the “Bori’s” of the world. It’s too bad there are people who feel good about putting others down. Your blog is such a success and you should be so proud of yourself for it. Keep up the good work girl!
