Raw-mazing Giveaway

Hey everyone! Hope you’ve had a great day so far <3 Thank you for all of your advice regarding whether I should give running another chance. I’m still thinking it out and want to talk it over with the pilot… so we shall see 😉

So… Bikram is HOT.

Bikram-Choudhury_7950 (Source)

Not so much Bikram himself –my apologies if you find him seksi, he’s just not my type- but the yoga oven torture chamber. I LOVE the heat and it usually feels amazing, but this morning the air was thick, uncomfortably hot and took a lot of deep breathing to get through the 90 minutes. It was a very, very challenging class.

When it was over, I took my schweaty self to Whole Paycheck and sipped a carrot, apple, beet, ginger juice

and also got hot bar for breakfast.

hot bar

Plantains, squash and zucchini, shrimp salad, Babylonian Treasure salad, and my beloved vegan miso slaw.

I came back to my aunt’s casa, said my “see ya later”s and got on the road back to Valdizzy.

I’m about to pick up Viesa from the kennel and head to the base gym, but before I go…

a GIVEAWAY from Ani Phyo!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ani while I was at 105degrees– not only is she totally gorgeous, but she’s also kind and personable.

ani phyo

This giveaway is extra exciting because I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this cookbook since last year.

Ani’s Raw Food Essentials: Recipes and Techniques for Mastering the Art of Live Food

arfe2

I LOVE Ani’s Phyo’s recipes. They’re simple and many don’t require fancy gadgets, like dehydrators, spiralizers, mandonlines, etc.

Also, they’re DELICIOUS 😀

This cookbook includes 250 recipes and is a perfect uncookbook for beginning chefs and masters of the kitchen.

Recipes include:

  • Broccoli-Cheddar Quiche
  • Brazil Nut Banana Pancakes
  • Pad Thai with Kelp Noodles
  • Coconut Cake with Nutella Hazelnut Sauce
  • Black Olive and Pesto Pizza

So how can this 250 recipe cookbook be yours?

Leave a comment telling me who your favorite chef is.

The lucky winner will be chosen randomly tomorrow night (6/15) at midnight.

Ready… set… go!

xoxo,

Gina

I like Emeril for entertainment, Nigella Lawson for how amazing everything looks, and all the chefs on Iron Chef since they are completely amazing.

  2. CaSaundra on June 15, 2010 at 8:39 am

Looks like you had a good little getaway!! My favorite chef would probably be Giada for sure!

  3. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on June 15, 2010 at 8:39 am

My favourite chef is Matteo Paonessa at a restaurant called Blacktree in my town. His French fusion dishes are unbelievable!

  4. Mo on June 15, 2010 at 8:49 am

My favorite chef is Jamie Oliver – I love how he runs to his garden and brings everything back to his outdoor table for prep/cooking. And any chef that’ll dress up like a big pea pod to entice kids to eat healthy is number one in my book.

I love David Keller because he really considers cooking with natural, sustainable foods. Also, he is a genius and it is my life goal to make it to his restaurant in Cali, French Laundry, before I die. For practical purposes, I love Bobby Flay because he also focuses on using fresh, in-season, sustainable ingredients in his cooking! My husband and I have never made a meal out of his cookbook, Grill It!, that we didn’t absolutely love.

Gina I have a question for you! What would you consider the top foods for healthy, glowing skin like yours? Lately, being a girl once a month is taking a toll on my face and I am just getting frustrated! Your juice-kick seemed to help you, but I don’t have a juicer! Any suggestions?

    • Fitnessista on June 15, 2010 at 11:53 am

lots of fresh food should help 🙂 fruits, salad, veggies and smoothies. laying off the dairy always helps with my skin, too

  37. Lynn B on June 15, 2010 at 10:08 am

If I have to watch a chef on tv it would have to be Ellie Krieger. She makes a lot of simple but HEALTHY foods… She makes me feel like I can actually cook! 🙂
