5 Things to Do This Friday

Hi friends 😀 Happy weekend! Hope your morning is treating you well. Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my last post <3

So what are you up to this weekend?

If you’re not sure where the night will take you,

here are 5 fit, fun, foodie, fab, feel-good ways to take your Friday:

1. Fit: After work today, meet up with a workout buddy and try a new fitness class. Rock climbing, pole dancing, kettlebells, Dance Trance (!), hot yoga, Zumba and spin are all great options.

Already worked out this morning? Take a walk after dinner 🙂

2. Fun: movie night! Something about going to the movies on a Friday night feels sooooooo good. I still kinda want to the see the Justin Beiber movie. Any takers? Haha.

3. Foodie: try a new recipe for dinner, or plan a legendary weekend meal.

tamales

Here are some recipes that are on my radar:

Butternut squash mac n’ cheese

Cedar plank smoked salmon

Crispy shrimp tacos

Coconut lemon bars

Or, just make a legendary dessert… like a pizookie 😀

dance trance workshop 129

3. Fab: LOTS of online shopping deals this weekend!

Express spring sale

30% off sale + free shipping at J Crew

Free shipping on Nordstrom shoes

Free shipping deals at Saks and Banana

Coupon codes at VS (Spring11)

I’m still trying to convince the Pilot that I NEED this tote:

It’s reversible, so it’s really like two purses 😉

Feel-good: Book a massage, manicure/pedicure or facial. It will give you a spring treat to look forward to, and I promise you won’t regret it.

Try a slow and restorative yoga class (like Yin Yoga)

Or, you can always just take a lovely nap.

I just munched a bowl of b-fast cookie dough cereal:

and am going to take Bell for a walk before work.

See ya later today, lovelies <3

xoxo

Gina

Sending love and prayers to my friends in Japan today <3

  7. Rhiannon on March 11, 2011 at 11:02 am

It is my experience that when something is on sale, or reversible, you are cheating yourself to not buy it!

  8. LisaG on March 11, 2011 at 11:08 am

I think my daughter and I will go see the Beiber tonight. She’s been dying to see it. Then kids have 4 soccer games tomorrow and the Azalea Festival; beautiful here this time of year as you know.

Loved the Bieber movie! I wasn’t a big fan before taking my 13 year old daughter to see it but now I’ve seen it 4 times! He is very talented. Cute story. But watch out for the Bieber fever that might set in…haha.

  14. Katie @ Nourishing Flourishing on March 11, 2011 at 11:32 am

LOL — that’s at LEAST the second time you’ve mentioned your Bieber-Fever desire to see that movie 😉 hehehe! Have a lovely Friday!

I love your list today! I’ll be spending my weekend in the Big Apple…super excited! Have a great day!

  19. Lindsay @ Summit Sandwiches on March 11, 2011 at 12:05 pm

I love your list of ways to jazz up your Friday. For some strange reason, I love to dress up a bit on Fridays. My coworkers laugh (with me) at my rejection of the usual casual Friday attire, but I always feel like my Friday is going to be a great day if I put a little extra effort into my appearance. Feeling great on the outside generally translates to feeling great on the inside too! It’s a great way to kick off the weekend!

  20. Mama Pea on March 11, 2011 at 12:06 pm

I’ll go see the Biebs movie with you 🙂

  21. Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn on March 11, 2011 at 12:14 pm

What on EARTH is a pizookie?! It looks so yummy delicious!

  22. Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table on March 11, 2011 at 12:18 pm

  23. Namaste Gurl on March 11, 2011 at 12:42 pm

Good to know there’s sales and free shipping at a lot of the stores I like– thanks for the update 🙂
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  24. Kelly on March 11, 2011 at 12:42 pm

Great ideas! And why don’t more purse companies make reversable bags? That’s such a neat idea! 🙂

  25. Heather on March 11, 2011 at 12:46 pm

Bahaha… I saw the J Bieb movie last night (after insisting I would never do it), and actually LOVED it. I also have no shame in admitting that! Go see it!!! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on March 11, 2011 at 2:12 pm

  26. Talia on March 11, 2011 at 12:54 pm

For my feel-good friday I went to the gym with my best friend and ran 3miles 🙂 Then out for breakfast (fruit for me). My best friend is donating one of her kidney to her 2 year old son in two weeks and I just love that time with her. She’s amazing!

  29. Megan @ Healthy Hoggin' on March 11, 2011 at 1:24 pm

Love all the ideas! The weather is so nice today, I’m definitely going for a run after work! Friday night movies are the BEST, too! No movie for me tonight, but I am having a nice dinner out with my family. 😀

Love that purse, too! I wish I didn’t know it existed, because now I want it…

    That pizookie looks amaze 🙂

  37. Mo on March 11, 2011 at 2:51 pm

I can’t help but be a little jealous of your weather – conducive to outdoor activities. Here in Wisconsin, you can really tell the winter and lack of sunshine is taking its toll on people – tempers are a little shorter than normal. So, I clean up the house, daydream about my garden for when the time comes and take my 14 year old puppy outside to play in the snow. Come on Spring! Take care and have a wonderful weekend – by the way, ordered the Sunwarrior Protein Powder for the first time – I can’t wait to try it!

  38. Tina on March 11, 2011 at 2:55 pm

A massage is exactly what I need right now!! And maybe some Justin Bieber in 3D too 😉

  39. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on March 11, 2011 at 3:04 pm

    What a great post, Gina!

I love the workout suggestions in the first item. And the relaxing feel-good things like a massage 🙂

And great coupon codes/shopping ideas…I actually got a few of those in my inbox, too 🙂 Makes me want to indulge in some retail therapy! haha!

    Enjoy your Friday, sweetie! 🙂

  40. Diana (Soap & Chocolate) on March 11, 2011 at 3:28 pm

Reader’s request: Pizzekfastcookie!!! Why not enjoy the best of both worlds, eh? 😉 Perhaps a la mode con un poquito de banana soft serve?

    Damelo.

    Happy weekend!

    • Fitnessista on March 11, 2011 at 5:42 pm

      youre a genius 🙂

  41. Sable @ SquatLikeALady on March 11, 2011 at 3:32 pm

I think those five things should be a part of every day!!! 🙂

However today I am going to be a couch potato and wrap myself up in blankets and heating pads because I just got slammed with the infection from hell. 🙁 However I will take that as a sign that spring is coming!!

    • Sable @ SquatLikeALady on March 11, 2011 at 3:32 pm

Umm how many times can I use “however” in one comment? Sheesh. I’m going to go take a nap now 😉

  42. Jess on March 11, 2011 at 3:32 pm

  44. Jennifer on March 11, 2011 at 4:24 pm

We’re definitely doing the movie thang at home tonight. First day of spring break for schools and go figure, we get a blizzard in ND with roads closing left and right. Oh well, I didn’t want to go anywhere anyways since I didn’t have to teach today. ;)Enjoy your weekend!!

  45. Gosia on March 11, 2011 at 4:29 pm
