Confessions

1. I haven’t been posting my 5th meal of the day lately, because they’ve all been weird.

dont ask

(don’t ask)

2. 99.9% of my clothes are in the POD, and somehow this still managed to happen:

clothes

What was I supposed to wear in the meantime, right?

lulu

3. I’ve gone through two boxes of Tulsi Sweet Rose tea in the past two weeks. Amazon has another pack on the way 🙂

4. Bella is getting a haircut today. Everytime I take her to the groomer, I get SO nervous. I just love her so much.

The family also has a fit when Bella gets a haircut- everyone likes her hair fluffy and sassy better, but she’s looking a little homeless.

5. I’ve been reading Paris Wife on the Kindle for over a month.

book

Usually I finish a book within a few days, a week max, but this one is sucking out my soul. I have to finish it because I read pretty much every book Jenna recommends, and she’s always right on with the reading tips 🙂

Your turn – I’d love to hear something random 🙂

See ya later today <3

hmmm…here’s a good one: for some reason, every time I go to the grocery store I think I am out of relish. I have 6 jars of relish in my cupboard. :/

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:39 am

      haha!

    • Erin on May 12, 2011 at 10:42 am

I do the same thing with beans – every time I go to the store I buy at least one can each of black, garbanzo, kidney and white beans. Meanwhile my pantry is stacked to the ceiling with cans of beans. Better to have too many than to run out, right? 🙂

      • Beth on May 12, 2011 at 10:54 am

At last count I had 44 cans of WIC beans :p I’m working it down now tho 😉

      • Kerry on May 12, 2011 at 5:00 pm

Hilarious! I just got the U.S. Postal Service’s bag to donate food on May 14th. Figured it could be a good place to “share” all that relish (or beans, in your case!).

  2. Natalie @ Will Jog For Food on May 12, 2011 at 9:39 am

hehe…I never post my weird meals either!

Confession – I “organize” by hiding all my stuff in junk drawers! I’m bad, hahaha 😉

    • Kelly @ Laughter, Strength, and Food on May 12, 2011 at 9:45 am

That’s the best way to ‘organize’! I do it all the time!

      • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:45 am

+ no one will ever know

        • Niki on May 12, 2011 at 5:25 pm

Until company accidentally opens one looking for your cutlery drawer 😛

  3. Leanne (Bride to Mrs.) on May 12, 2011 at 9:39 am

    Hmmm something random….

Because I had a cut on my ring finger on my right hand, I have all my other nails painted a nude color other than that one! The finger with a cut on it has purple polish. It’s very random but half of it is covered with a bandaid! At least once a day, someone strikes up a conversation with me about how I have one purple painted nail! But I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to fix it!

Have an awesome day Gina 🙂

  4. Heather @ Side of Sneakers on May 12, 2011 at 9:40 am

I’v eaten breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast at least 3 times this week.

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:41 am

hahah i like how you roll 🙂 breakfast for dinner is always good

  5. Val @ Balancing Val on May 12, 2011 at 9:41 am

RANDOM: I’ve decided to make peace with food . . . again!

  6. Angela on May 12, 2011 at 9:42 am

    Something random:

When I need to relax, I take a bath and eat dinner at the same time. Not gonna lie, it’s amazing. (But I only do it when the husband isn’t home, because I have to separate my food into like four bowls to fully relax, and it just looks weird to have four bowls around the tub while I’m taking a bath… haha)

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:44 am

      that is amazing

  7. Morgan on May 12, 2011 at 9:42 am

Sometimes when I eat something ‘ugly’ I don’t post it due to fear of making others disgusted 🙂

Or when I eat the same thing days on end, I think to myself, “Yeah the wraps were cute the first 8 posts…but 9 posts would cross the line.”

Confession Time! I cannot meal plan to save my life. When I do plan for a few days, I never follow-thru.

  8. jodie on May 12, 2011 at 9:43 am

this is not random but I really enjoy your fashion posts. I really need to go clothes shopping. I think I have more workout clothes, socks, sports bras and sneakers than ” actual” clothes. Seeing your fashion posts reminds me I really need to go shopping.

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:43 am

i’m always happy to enable a good shopping trip 🙂 glad you’re enjoying the posts!

  9. Steph @ A Life Without Ice Cream on May 12, 2011 at 9:44 am

    1) Love the increased fashion that’s been going on with The Fitnessista lately!
    2) I wanted to ask you about Sun Warrior. I’ve been on the search for a good vegan protein (I have a dairy allergy so all things whey are out). I’ve tried vega here in Canada but its pretty chalky… I want something that’s either going to add some good flavour or add nothing but not chalky frothy… ick. I want to give Sun Warrior a try because I’ve read about it a lot on your blogy but wanted to see what you think in terms of texture first. I’ll have to order it online but don’t want to be stuck with a whole lotta protein powder I’m not a fan of.

Also, would you recommend a flavour? I’m tempted to go chocolate but thought it might not be as versatile for my fruit and soy smooties.

    Thanks for your insights!!!

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:45 am

it’s SO much smoother than the vega. i love the vanilla flavor and have heard great things about the natural, but i always roll w vanilla. if you want to make it chocolate, just add some cacao powder to your smoothie

  10. Krystina (Organically Me) on May 12, 2011 at 9:44 am

Tuna for a snack, huh? 😛

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:44 am

an entire can + the crunchy bits left in my bag of raw crackers
      cat food. haha

      • Orla on May 13, 2011 at 5:07 am

I ate an entire tin of tuna last week. Out of the tin. While standing up. Partner was away and I was too lazy to dirty a plate. It was delish!

  11. Holly @ The Runny Egg on May 12, 2011 at 9:45 am

When a book takes me that long to read I just try to power through and finish it. I don’t like not finishing a book, but I hate when it takes so long. Happened to me with The Lovely Bones. I kept putting it down because it was so sad but I just had to finish it.

  12. Jackie @ Baking Charms on May 12, 2011 at 9:47 am

Confessions.. hmmm how about I had to stop buying almond butter because the entire jar barely lasted 3 days 😉

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 9:49 am

      totally have done that before

  13. Kelly @ Laughter, Strength, and Food on May 12, 2011 at 9:47 am

New randomness in my life…I just went from full time to part time at my job, and while I’m so relieved and I feel so liberated, I’m silently stressing out about not having a full time job even though I know we’ll be fine! It’s such a good/bad feeling!

  14. s on May 12, 2011 at 9:48 am

random things: i enjoy tornado warnings. and that mustard looks like cheez whiz.

  15. Claire @ Un Bello Aperitivo on May 12, 2011 at 9:56 am

My random comment: I got sunburned yesterday just on the tops of my arms, so now it looks like I have some sort of weird skin disease. Oh well, haha. Another random thought: I’m excited to tie-dye today!

  16. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on May 12, 2011 at 9:59 am

Hehe great confessions! Here’s one for me: I have gone through 2 bags of Nature’s Path Kamut Puffs since Saturday. I like to mix it with agave nectar (for stickiness) and cinnamon (because I love it), shake it up to coat it, and oh my……. I could eat it by the bucketful!! Other confession: Yesterday, I really didn’t feel like teaching my 6pm spin class… until I got about 2 tracks in, then I was on fire!

  17. Katie on May 12, 2011 at 10:00 am

It’s taken me a year to read “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. I keep starting and stopping and finding something different to read. I heard it starts off pretty boring then gets good, but I’m finding it hard to sit through the first 30 pages. Ugh.

    • Joelle on May 12, 2011 at 10:07 am

Me too!!!! I think the most I read was 60 pages and then I quit. When I pick it up again I have to start over again because I don’t remember all the weird characters and their names.

      • Chelles on May 12, 2011 at 11:38 am

Confession: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has taken me almost a month to finish for the same reason and because I watched the movie first. Word of advice, don’t watch the movie until you’re done with the book! 2nd Confession: I read this blog (and a few others) only during work even though my interest usage is monitored!

        • Katie on May 12, 2011 at 1:41 pm

I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I’m so intrigued on why people love it so much… maybe one day. 🙂

          • Niki on May 12, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Don’t give up on it! The first 100 pages are awful but then it gets sooooo good, you will not be able to put it down!! Then you will read all 3 in a matter of weeks 😛

        • Fitnessista on May 13, 2011 at 1:10 am

          i wont tell 😉

  18. Carrie on May 12, 2011 at 10:01 am

Confession: I did amazeballs wrong. I had my almond butter and everything in the processor when I realized I was out of protein powder, so I substitued it with… brown sugar! LoL. They have now gone from healthy snack to flat out dessert, but they’re damn good, lol, wonder why….

  19. Chelsea on May 12, 2011 at 10:05 am

Random: I am out of Almond Butter so I would rather skip breakfast then eat it with out it!

  20. Britney on May 12, 2011 at 10:06 am

My roommate is reading The Paris Wife for her book club – they keep pushing the date back because no one can get around to finishing it! (It’s a casual club with some of her coworkers – hence the date changing.)

  21. Stephanie @ StephSnacks on May 12, 2011 at 10:10 am

Each and every single time I order sushi, I go into it ‘knowing’ I’m going to try a new roll. And then I always order the same three or four things. Hey what can ya do? 😉

  22. Heather (heathers dish) on May 12, 2011 at 10:11 am

I have two books that I need to finish this weekend and think the Paris Wife is next!

  23. Carla on May 12, 2011 at 10:12 am

cottage cheese with peanut butter, protein powder and some cinnamon. its a great after dinner snack. your Bella is so adorably cute! Have a great day.

  27. Len on May 12, 2011 at 10:22 am

I can never have my toe and nail polish match. If I paint my toes a dark color, the nails have to be painted light and vice versa. I dont know why I do this but I do! I know most people like to match their toe and nail colors… not moi!

  28. Tina on May 12, 2011 at 10:23 am

I got an email yesterday about my summer internship opportunity being canceled. Not sure how I’m going to find anything else that pays on short notice! EEK!

  29. Samantha on May 12, 2011 at 10:25 am

I haven’t worked out in 5 days (eek) and cannot shake this head cold!

  30. Jessica on May 12, 2011 at 10:26 am

I have officially started the magazine purge before the hubs comes home from deployment. It is his biggest pet peeve to have stacks of them all over the house and they have literally taken over while he has been gone! Oops 😉

  31. P!nky on May 12, 2011 at 10:32 am

I have a jar of almond butter at my place, my work and my boyfriend’s place so I am never out!
I will impulse buy ANYTHING because it’s pink.

  32. Mallory on May 12, 2011 at 10:44 am

Something random: As I read this post (at work…. im a horrible employee! lol) I’m drinking tea for the first time in my life! Also, I made 24 dozen banana walnut muffins last night and brought them into work for every as they just dont have enough healthy snacks around here! They all call me the Martha Stewart of Admiral (where I work) as I’m always bringing in healthy treats (like Amazeballs!) to share!

  33. Allison @ Food For Healing on May 12, 2011 at 10:44 am

i think Bella is super cute with a fresh hair cut! she is still sassy, can’t take that away from her with a little less hair 😛 lol

Random fact – you and I still need to catch up soon. 🙂

  35. Chelsea M on May 12, 2011 at 10:48 am

Your closet looks just like mine. I recently donated 3 garbage bags full of clothes I don’t wear anymore and my closet is still bursting! I think we just need to fill the space 😉

  36. Maggie on May 12, 2011 at 10:50 am

It took me forever to get through the Paris Wife, too. I just felt like all Hadley did was complain (and a lot of it was valid). I had just expected it would be more fun in Paris in the 1920s and not about how difficult her life was.

My confession is that I just started watching Friday Night Lights Sunday night and I’ve already watched 10 episodes despite working all day and having plans in the evening 2 out of 3 nights so far this week. Oh and I totally get all middle-school-level excited about the potential romance between the quarterback and the coach’s daughter.

  37. Rachel @ The Perseverance Diaries on May 12, 2011 at 10:57 am

I love random meals, and that one posted above looks pretty awesome!

something random…I miss my dog back home in Florida so much that I googled pictures of Puggles and got teary eyed. Random and slightly pathetic…hehe.

  38. Kilee on May 12, 2011 at 11:09 am

Haha, love the random facts 🙂 Random fact: I always wait til the exact last minute that I can to get ready in the morning. I now have 7 minutes left til I HAVE to leave the house. Have a great day!

    • Fitnessista on May 12, 2011 at 11:11 am

  41. Kelly on May 12, 2011 at 11:46 am

I’ve bought more clothes in the past two months than I have in the past three years + a pricey wallet…and I had a pretty fabulous dream about eating a chocolate cupcake last night 🙂

  42. Kaila @ healthy helper! on May 12, 2011 at 11:49 am

The more clothes the merrier right? My family is the same way with my pooch…they like her long a scraggly but I think she just looks so cute with a short puppy cut! Speaking of which she is due for a bath and cut! She’s looking pretty homeless too! 🙂

  43. Michelle on May 12, 2011 at 11:56 am

I just finished a book about stripping (Candy Girl, by Diablo Cody – highly recommend it) and it took me 3 days. The previous book was young adult and it took 3 weeks. Hmmm…what’s that say about me?

  44. Maria on May 12, 2011 at 12:21 pm

I just took my yorkiepoo to get a haircut, per his father’s request. I love his shaggy hair, but my fiance likes it short. He looks like a little military gentleman now 🙂 And I too have been reading the Paris Wife on my Nook for over a month…My goal is to finish by the end of May. I’m not sure why it’s taking me so long to get through it either.

Random: I stayed up all night last night reading a new book, and I convinced myself there was something in my closet waiting for me if I turned out the light so I had to wait until the sun came up for it to be safe. These actions have led me to believe that there was in fact crack in the two iced coffees I had at Books-A-Million yesterday.
