Everydrop Water Filter (+ a giveaway!)

[This post is sponsored from Whirlpool® Water. Of course, all opinions are my own. Read on for more details + a giveaway for a lucky reader to get their own EveryDrop™ Water Filter + a $100 gift card!]

I’ve gotten away from my number-focused ways. There was a time when I counted calories judiciously, knew my weight and body fat percentage, and recorded various numbers in a notebook… or let them run wild in my brain. I haven’t weighed myself for months (and prefer to go by how my clothes fit) and no longer keep track of all the little details. The only thing I track now is something that has a huge impact on my skin, energy levels and metabolism: water intake. I have a big Nalgene bottle (32 oz.) and make sure I fill it at least three times throughout the day. (You need 96 oz. of water a day to live– more if you’re active!) Everydrop 1 of 1 4

I always have my water bottle with me, and pack one up for Livi too since she loves to drink water all day. Even when I travel, I’ll put an empty large water bottle in my backpack and fill it once I get through security. It’s better than buying plastic bottles, and this way, I have a water bottle for my trip. Here’s the thing, though: when I travel, the water kind of sketches me out. I’m always hearing about different things that can be found in the water system -ok, and I was traumatized when I read an article about some things that were found in Tucson- so I always figure: the more filtration, the better. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when Whirlpool Water offered to send me an EveryDrop Water Filter to try out. It was much smaller than I imagined, Everydrop 1 of 1 and came in a cute travel case. Everydrop 1 of 1 2 I quickly assembled it, and couldn’t wait to try it out: Everydrop 1 of 1 3 Something that surprised me was how quickly the water came out! It would be so easy to use this between a public water fountain and my bottle. Everydrop 1 of 1 5 In reality, I don’t see myself carrying it around with us all the time -I have too much to lug around as is -but it is definitely something I’ll use while traveling. If you’d like to win your own + a $100 Visa gift card, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post with techniques you use to drink more water. I have a few in this post, but my all-time favorite is to infuse it with fresh fruit and herbs.  You can get up to two entries by completing any of the methods below!

It sounds totally unappetizing, but I have an electric kettle at work and I just drink mugs of warm water all day! Sometimes I’ll actually make a cup of tea, but my office is so FREEZING that the hot water keeps me cozy 🙂

  2. Natalie on November 6, 2013 at 12:43 pm

I like to add some lemon or cucumber to my water so that it makes me WANT to drink more!

  3. Jenn on November 6, 2013 at 12:54 pm

Avoiding a “dehydration headache” is all the motivation I need. I only like drink water, tea, and milk naturally so it’s easier for me than for others I suppose.

  4. Danielle F. on November 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm

I make sure that I have a water bottle with me at all times and often drink flavored water which I either purchase as is or I use Crystal Light to flavor the water. I also crave fizz in my drinks so I stock up on flavored Seltzer when it goes on sale and drink that often instead of plain ole water.

  5. Nicole Fleece on November 6, 2013 at 1:20 pm

I use a straw to drink water. I swear I drink so much more when I use a straw! I also keep a cup full on my desk or with me while I am doing chores around the house. Two cups before each meal and during each meal! My fiancee thinks I should be just floating away!

  6. Sandy on November 6, 2013 at 1:49 pm

I only drink water, tea and the occasional matcha latte!

  7. Kelly on November 6, 2013 at 2:05 pm

Ice cold water in a refillable bottle. I normally chug the bottle and refill every time I go to the bathroom.

  8. Cate on November 6, 2013 at 2:10 pm

I chill my water in the freezer to get it super cold. Keeping it in an insulated container helps to keep it nice and chilly. That’s the way I love to drink it, especially during or after a sweaty workout.

  9. Shelby R. on November 6, 2013 at 2:18 pm

Always having a water bottle right next to me on my desk at work motivates me to drink more water!

  10. Karen H on November 6, 2013 at 2:38 pm

I’m pretty good about staying hydrated, but when I was pregnant and still running I tried to really stay on top of things. At work I set a task reminder on my computer so I would get alerts to re-fill my water bottle.

  11. Christina on November 6, 2013 at 3:15 pm

I carry a 24 oz water bottle around with me everywhere, even from room to room. The more I see it, the more I sip on it & I refill it as soon as it’s empty. It really helps me hit my 1 gallon per day goal!

  12. Sarah on November 6, 2013 at 3:21 pm

I love my pink glass water bottle!

  13. Nicole on November 6, 2013 at 3:39 pm

I find if I use a cup with a straw I tend to drink more water.

  14. Rachael on November 6, 2013 at 3:42 pm

The easiest way that I’ve found to increase my water consumption is just to make it more accessible to myself! making sure I always have clean water bottles and keep them filled. 🙂

    thanks for the chance!!

  15. Camee on November 6, 2013 at 3:49 pm

I love to drink water with lots of ice in it!

  16. Claire on November 6, 2013 at 4:46 pm

A fresh lemon slice always makes water taste better in my opinion. 🙂

  17. Sam on November 6, 2013 at 5:06 pm

This would be the perfect water companion! I dislike how expensive bottled water is but sometimes tap just doesn’t cut it 🙂

  18. Jo on November 6, 2013 at 5:07 pm

In the winter, when my office is freezing, I drink cup after cup of herbal tea – it’s not a diuretic like actual tea leaves, and it warms me up! In the summer I never go anywhere without a water bottle.

  19. Bonnie on November 6, 2013 at 5:25 pm

I keep my total daily water minimum in a pretty pitcher in the fridge. Sometimes I’ll add cucumber slices, a few berries, or lemon/lime slices to make it look extra enticing. I also sometimes drink it out of a pretty wine glass. Making drinking water feel special helps me to get those 8 glasses a day!

  20. Norma S. Clark on November 6, 2013 at 5:42 pm

I’m an accountant and sit at a desk ALL. DAY. LONG. and crunch numbers. Something that helps me stay on top of my water intake AND get up and move throughout the day is setting a reminder to pop up on my computer every hour that says “check your water tumbler!” and “get up and do something!” Even if it’s a trip around the building or walking to fill up my water tumbler from the water fountain, every little bit helps and I end up getting at least 80 oz a day!

  21. Christine on November 6, 2013 at 5:49 pm

Having a water bottle in every bag helps.

  22. Rani on November 6, 2013 at 5:49 pm

i only drink water–no pop no coffee no juice, so id love to have the best water out there!

  23. Tressie on November 6, 2013 at 6:28 pm

    I carry a water bottle everywhere I go and I hate the headaches I get if I haven’t drank enough-good motivation…

  24. Gwen O on November 6, 2013 at 6:38 pm

I don’t actually use any techniques, is just my habit to chug water all day long, my sister and mom are the same way. If I don’t have a glass or bottle of water available I am not a happy camper.

  25. Jessica on November 6, 2013 at 6:50 pm

A little lemon in my water always make it more appetizing! I also like to pick up new water bottles every now and then, I always drink more if I’m excited about a new bottle 🙂

  26. Amanda on November 6, 2013 at 6:55 pm

I work for Starbucks and always carry around a venti cup (24 oz) full of water everywhere I go to track my water intake. I’ll throw in a couple lemon slices sometimes for the extra taste and health benefits!

  27. DD on November 6, 2013 at 6:57 pm

sparkling water makes it more exciting, this is prob my favorite way to drink water

  28. Kristi on November 6, 2013 at 8:26 pm

I am a classroom teacher and the fact that I only have a 30 minutes a day of a break is crucial to when it comes to drinking my required amount of water a day:) The past two weeks I have made it a point to drink more water, and to make it easier I have added fresh blueberries and strawberries to my drinking water! It has made it so much more enjoyable to drink, and the students are fighting over who I send down to the cafeteria to refill my drinking container with ice as a “special job.” I have felt more energetic which in turn makes me a better teacher!

  29. stacey on November 6, 2013 at 8:28 pm

I do pretty good at drinking water at work but on my days off I hardly get any.

  30. Robin on November 6, 2013 at 8:40 pm

Fortunately, I love water. I always have water with me in and, in fact, feel naked without it!!

  31. Jen on November 6, 2013 at 8:58 pm

I have a cute water bottle that I take with me everywhere. If I think I’m slipping in my water consumption, I’ll set a goal for a few days, like at least 80oz daily. I also drink a lot of herbal tea when it’s cold outside and cold water doesn’t sound as appealing.

  32. Jane on November 6, 2013 at 10:09 pm

I drink from a camelback water bottle that has a fun straw! It also makes it easier to drink water while working out because you don’t have to deal with a cap!

  33. Missy on November 6, 2013 at 10:12 pm

I switch up my water bottles every now and then. I seem to get bored carrying around the same water bottle all of the time so switching it up or treating myself to buy a cute new water bottle encourages me to drink up! I always have a glass poured when I’m at home. I hate wasting dishes so will drink it (instead of dumping it) before putting the glass in the dishwasher.

  34. Gage L on November 6, 2013 at 10:25 pm

From the office to the field id use it all day!

  35. Sara on November 6, 2013 at 10:46 pm

I started drinking a lot more water when I was pregnant but have fallen off that wagon ever since. I can usually do better about drinking water when I have a big bottle around at all times…

  36. Jessica on November 6, 2013 at 10:59 pm

I’ve been really bad about hydration lately, but we recently recieved an infusion pitcher as a wedding gift, so I’m hoping that will help!

  37. Lizzie on November 7, 2013 at 7:33 am

I use freezing cold water to keep me alert and awake during meetings, so I definitely drink a lot of it then!!

  38. Priya on November 7, 2013 at 10:04 am

I try to take a 16 oz water bottle around wherever I go. I also try to have a glass of water whenever I have coffee.

  39. Danielle Volandt on November 7, 2013 at 11:37 am

I carry an “easy access” water bottle around with my. If it’s going to be a busy day with questionable access to clean water, I bring my bottle with a built-in filter.

  40. Irina on November 7, 2013 at 1:04 pm

This is great! I travel a lot and am always iffy about the water in different locations.

  41. Janice on November 7, 2013 at 1:53 pm

I make sure I refill my water cup at my desk at least twice by the end of the day. Having a smaller cup means I have an excuse to get up and go to the office kitchen, keeping my body a little more active. This is a great device, I would definitely use it when I’m on the run.

  42. Eva on November 7, 2013 at 3:26 pm

To drink more water, I’ve started carbonating it with a sodastream — basically for every cup of still water I drink, I get to drink a cup of sparkling water — my water consumption is off the charts!

  43. Eva on November 7, 2013 at 3:28 pm
  44. Crystal A. on November 7, 2013 at 3:35 pm

I drink more water when it is flavored with fruits or herbs. I also love really super cold water…I tend to drink more of it the colder it is.

  45. Sorayya on November 7, 2013 at 3:38 pm

I totally need this for my living space!

  46. GAhome2mom on November 7, 2013 at 3:40 pm

We are a homeschool family and this would be a wonderful tool to teach for science. And, we all need to drink more water. It should taste good and be healthy to drink.

    Happy Holidays,

I do a few things to drink more water. I have a 32oz mug at work and one at home that are filled at all times with water. I will drink iced or hot tea, but otherwise it’s all water. I will put a bit of lemon in the mug at home for flavor and health benefits.

I also try to drink a glass of water as soon as I wake up as I know we become dehydrated during the night.

  50. Kim N. on November 7, 2013 at 5:01 pm

I like to put fresh mint in my water. When I drink it I feel refreshed and that the mint gives me natural energy to power through my day.
