I live abroad and haven’t been able to get home to my family for a few years, so I’ve made new Christmas traditions – one is visiting a children’s home and helping throw a holiday party for them. My favorite Chilean Christmas tradition is how Santa visits – just before midnight, parents take their kids outside to play or walk around; at midnight, everyone goes back inside and Santa has visited! Since pretty much everyone celebrates the same way, you can hear excited cheers and shouts all over the neighborhood.

My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve. My entire family, sisters and husbands, and kiddos and my aunt and uncle all go to my parents house and have a huge Italian feast and play poker and watch Christmas movies. Then everyone sleeps over and we have one big Christmas morning together. I look forward to it all year

Every year my husband and I go to Bronners (the largest Christmas Store :)) in Frankenmuth, MI, and we pick out a yearly ornament for us that they personalize, and one for one of my dearest friend’s family who lives half a country away. Even though we never get to see them around the holidays, it makes me feel a little closer to them.

I know this sounds super weird but my husband and I live in an area where we get lots of snow and we are always traveling around the Christmas season to see friends and family. Well, we are always stopping throughout our drive for people who have gotten stuck to see if they are ok and we will help them out if they need it. There’s something about getting to talk to people and help them out that I always love….people are always so appreciative and I like proving that there are good people still out in the world today!
