We get together with my extended family and spend all day making (and testing) our favourite Christmas cookies. This year it is next Sunday, I can’t wait!

My favorite holiday tradition is the big dinner we have on Christmas Eve with my aunts, uncles and cousins. We have been doing this for about 25 years now, and it is just as exciting now as it was when I was little. Family time <3

Fave holiday tradition is probably putting up the tree and decorating while listening to Christmas music and having the first cup of eggnog of the season.

My favorite Christmas tradition would have to be going to our church’s Christmas Eve candlelight service. It’s a great reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, and I always love singing some of my favorite Christmas carols!

Christmas eve party with the whole family!

  8. Alyssa on December 8, 2014 at 8:19 am

My favorite holiday tradition would have to be the big Christmas Eve party at my Grandma’s house. Everyone gets together (12 cousins + aunts and uncles, and usually some friends) and we do gifts, dinner, and read the Christmas story. The best part is always taking the annual family photo – getting 25 people to sit still is always hilarious!

  9. Alyssa on December 8, 2014 at 8:19 am

Also, pre-ordered your book! Can’t wait!

One of my favorite Christmas morning traditions is to get up and go for a run – the route dictated by the holiday lights on. We usually go early – really early – before anyone else is up and the streets/roads are clear. It’s a peaceful start to the holiday morning – I love holiday lights…and when we get back, everyone is just starting to stir so we can shower and then enjoy some hot apple cider or coffee ๐Ÿ™‚

I love decorating our house and picking out the tree…seeing all the decorations makes me so happy ๐Ÿ™‚

Favorite tradition is drinking hot apple cider while looking for the best Christmas tree for our family. We just did this yesterday and it was so much more fun than in the past, getting to do it with my toddler daughter and her baby sisters. Can’t wait to keep doing this as they all get older.

My favorite holiday tradition is when my family and I go on a beach BBQ on Christmas Day to Boca Grande, just a few minutes from my parent’s house in Florida. It’s an unusual and fun way to spend the day after opening presents.

My favorite holiday tradition is how myself and all my siblings still sleep together in one room on Christmas Eve at our parents house. We are all pretty old now but we still bring in air mattresses and sleeping bags and wake up together on Christmas morning :).

  22. Katie on December 8, 2014 at 8:39 am

My absolute favourite thing about the holidays is my family all coming together! My sister comes home for a couple of weeks and its the best thing in the world. As long as we are together that is all that matters. It really is the most magical time of year. ๐Ÿ™‚ As far as traditions go, its all about good food in my family! We make something called “Christmas Morning Wife Saver” (lol) every single year. Its an egg casserole that you prep the night before and just pop in the oven on Christmas morning ( so easy). Its incredibly warm and delicious and just hold such amazing memories from my childhood. Wishing you a holiday full of fun, family, and good food! <3
