I can’t wait to get HIIT It! – already on pre-order. ๐Ÿ™‚ One of my favorite holiday traditions is my husband and I enjoying wine from our favorite town in Italy. We spent Christmas there 7 years ago, so we buy the wine and cook up a meal on Christmas Eve. We then go for a family walk to look at all the Christmas lights in a neighborhood next to ours.

We always do an “adopt a kid” thing to buy presents for kids who need them…it is so much fun shopping and spending extra time to wrap them specially to brighten someone’s day.

  8. Alexis on December 8, 2014 at 9:31 am

My favorite tradition is to bundle up, pour a couple of travel mugs full of coffee or cocoa, top off with a shot of festive booze (Patron XO, bailey’s, kahlua, fireball, something of that nature) and walk around our neighborhood with our dog in tow and look at Christmas lights for a few hours. It’s good exercise for us and the dog, and our neighborhood gets super into lights so there’s always interesting things to look at!

My favorite holiday tradition is cutting down a real Christmas tree as a family and decorating it together (don’t worry they plant two more in its place).

I hope my husband pre-ordered HIIT for me for Christmas!! I sent him this post to have him put in his email if so. Can’t wait to get it either way!

I can’t believe all these giveaways you have going! You must feel like an elf!
Growing up, my aunt would have me and my brother over to decorate gingerbread houses she made from my (deceased) uncle’s recipe. It was special to have the recipe and stencils from my uncle (her brother) and to decorate all together while listening to Christmas music.

So many things to enjoy about the holidays that it’s hard to pick one thing! And Matt and I are working on creating OUR traditions which is really fun. Overall, I just love spending time with family, sitting around the kitchen table, laughing, drinking coffee and eating my mom’s homemade butter cookies (a many generations old recipe!)

  47. Caitlin on December 8, 2014 at 10:40 am

Christmas is always different these days with our family growing (I just got married!) and trying to navigate new transitions and seasons. BUT I just love family time, especially sitting around the table eating a good meal and being thankful for each other. I don’t need anything else!
