Favorite things giveaway: Swopper

Hi friends! How’s the morning going? Hope you’re having a great day so far.

I am so, so excited for today’s giveaway. I use this every day, and am actually using it while writing this post: my Swopper chair!!

Swopper 1 of 1

(There are furniture moving disk thingies —scientific term— attached on the bottom to protect the floors.)

Not only is this chair extremely sleek and comfy, but it has hidden benefits. The beauty of this chair is that it allows for natural spinal movement: up and down, forward and back, and from side to side. If you’ll notice, in most desk chairs, you’re stuck in a stationary position. This can decrease circulation (as you’re not moving any muscles while you sit) and from that, decrease oxygen to the brain which can make us sleepy and not perform to optimum levels. The beauty of the Swopper chair is that it allows gentle movement in all planes, increases circulation, increases energy, and promotes improved posture. This is a huge one for me because I have horrible posture. When I’m in this chair, I feel comfortable, but am less likely to slouch.

We’ve just started to transition this little hallway nook into my office area, and the Swopper chair is my favorite piece.

I would love this chair! I struggled with poor posture most of my life and developed tendonitis in my hands from all the typing during my college days, and probably due to my poor posture as well. It looks so slim and compact too:)

Ohhh….would LOVE this guy! I’ve been hunting for an alternative to my desk chair and yoga ball that I alternate between – the chair is uncomfortable and the ball is too low. This guy would be perfect!

I recently read an article in the NYT about passwords. One idea really stuck with me, changing your password into a reminder/goal. I.e. “situpstraight” “drinkmorewater”. A password about sitting up straight combined with this chair could do wonders for the posture!

I’m always looking for ways to make my 9 to 5 desk job more healthy. This chair would be a great addition to my cubicle work home!

  10. Eric on December 11, 2014 at 5:18 pm

This chair would be great to improve my posture! I’m always slouching in my desk chair these days unfortunately.

  15. kayla on December 11, 2014 at 6:21 pm

I’ve been spending far too many hours sitting these days and could definitely use a chair that keeps me from slouching all the time!

  16. Liza on December 11, 2014 at 6:39 pm

I love that I have created a great stand-sit desk in my office. I use a few reams of paper to raise my monitor, and I place boxes under my keyboard and mouse. The swopper would be fun to sit on when I’m tired of standing during the day.

I would love to win this chair for my home office because my boyfriend works from our home and his back always hurts because he does not have good posture. This would give him the relief he needs 🙂

  23. Stephanie D on December 11, 2014 at 7:59 pm

I don’t sit at a desk much but I do play piano and I bet my back and shoulders would get less sore sitting on this!

  24. Caitlin on December 11, 2014 at 8:10 pm

Part of my job is being the Ergonomics SME for a large corporation, so I know a lot about chairs, working postures, etc. That being said, though, I have bad posture….and, we cannot allow chairs like this at work for different reasons. BUT….I would love to try it out at home to see what it is like 🙂

  25. Ali on December 11, 2014 at 8:13 pm

I love this chair! We live in a small, 2 bedroom apartment and having a normal desk chair barely leaves room to walk around the room, this would be perfect!!!!

  26. Lindsay on December 11, 2014 at 8:18 pm

Well I recently started working full time in an office and my neck and low back has gotten so bad that I am now seeing a chiropractor multiple time a week because my pain gets to bad.

  27. Lindsey on December 11, 2014 at 8:31 pm

I would love this chair to give to my husband for his office. He has back pain and I’m certain it’s related to his desk chair at work!

We just moved to a new place where I have more of a kitchen “workstation” rather than an actual desk. I really like it so far except I’ve had the hardest time finding a chair that works in the space. This would be perfect!

  35. Elena on December 12, 2014 at 4:07 am

I would love to win this chair- for both me and my husband. He’s working for his exam as a dentist, so he’s in need for a good posture and me, well I like this chair!!

  36. Melanie on December 12, 2014 at 5:32 am

I have a terrible desk chair that gives me back pain every day, so this chair would be amazing!

  37. Holly on December 12, 2014 at 6:03 am

I sit at a desk all day and would love to have this chair to help with posture and my back!!

  38. Heather C on December 12, 2014 at 7:42 am

I adore my coworkers and we desperately need those chairs – wonder if I can convince my boss that $700 is nothing, haha

  39. lindsey on December 12, 2014 at 7:47 am

since i started working full-time, my neck and back are killing me because i slouch at a desk for 9 hours a day. this would be a serious life-changer!

  40. Meghan on December 12, 2014 at 8:16 am

I would LOVE to try this chair! I spend lonnngggg hours at my desk for work and though I know my posture is terrible, it’s so hard to work on it. Game-changer!

  45. sarah on December 12, 2014 at 2:54 pm
