Newbie Roon

Hi guys! How are ya? Hope your day has been great so far <3 Thank you so much to those of you who left amazing feedback on the weights 101 post! There are a LOT of comments I want to respond to, so I’ll be sure to get back to ya tonight after yoga.

I didn’t make it to the p-a-r-k (does anyone else spell it out in front of their dogs, too?) with the puppers this morning. Hopefully I can take them tonight so that they can get out some energy 😉

I did, however, enjoy a lovely b-fast😀

cereal

B-fast cookie dough cereal with cacao nibs and butterscotch extract

Then I packed up lonchi/snacks to take to work:

lunch

-Carrot cake Larabar

-Organic GIANT plum

-salad

-hummus sandwich on kamut bread

Work today was a lot of fun. We learned about procedures and policies, I did some research, people-watched whilst eating my lunch, and met someone who speaks entirely in metaphors. I call that a good day 😀

When I got back to the casa, I had to taste test one of these beauties…

roon

A new roon flavor! Double chocolate chip 😀

When the winner of Tina’s bake sale said to surprise her with the flavor, I figured I’d tried something new 😉 They’re not totally finished yet (still REALLY gooey in the center!) but taste foodgasmic.

Well I’m off to take a Bikram class and then heading to my aunt’s book club for Sarah’s Key. I haven’t read a third of the book yet, but figured I could drink a glass of vino and chat with the ladies.

GLEE IS ON TONIGHT!!! Ahhhhhhh!! 😀

xoxo

Gina

Something to think: How we treat others is a direct reflection of how we feel about ourselves <3

Today’s workout jam: “Empire State of Mind” Glee Cast version (yes, the song is a little old, but the version will rock your face off)

I so need to try one of those! Or maybe two, or three. I heard the Glee version the other night and loved it!

  6. Jessica on September 21, 2010 at 3:50 pm

I really need to make cookie dough cereal one of these mornings. It looks so good and I always forget! I’m going to put a reminder post-it on my fridge. And your macaroons always look so good too!! What’s a girl have to do to get her hands on some of those roons? 😉

  11. Holly @ couchpotatoathlete on September 21, 2010 at 4:16 pm

Oh I wish I had won the roons in Tina’s sale. Double choc chip anything sounds awesome in my mind.

Enjoy the book club. I’ve always wanted to join one, but I like to read at my own pace, you know? But I do love to talk about books that I’ve read.

I like your “something to think about” — but sometimes I think I am so hard on myself and I don’t think I am that way towards others. But maybe I am? Ha– it really was something to think about 🙂

  12. Stefanie @thenewhealthy on September 21, 2010 at 4:18 pm

I always spell out w-a-l-k in front of my dog, or else she will get super excited and I don’t want to let her down! 😉

I don’t watch Glee, but I *LOVE* that song SO much, and the Glee version is AWESOME!

  16. Stephanie on September 21, 2010 at 4:57 pm

LOL we totally do the spell thing with our dog for “walk” and “out” too!!! recently she’s managed to figure out what it means when i spell “o-u-t” though so i need to come up with something new?!

  17. fittingbackin on September 21, 2010 at 4:58 pm

Can’t wait for Glee!!! I want to read Sarah’s Key!

  18. Mary (What's Cookin' with Mary) on September 21, 2010 at 4:59 pm

When we’re around my MIL’s dogs we all forget to spell out walk and the dogs FREAK OUT until they actually get a walk. It’s so cute, but it drives the MIL nuts.

I’m all about treat others the way you want to be treated… I also think I am the only person in So Cal that let’s another driver make a lane change when they put their blinker on… ;P Seems like more people should adopt this phil. …?

HI! I am not new to your blog but have been previously intimidated as far as comments go…..however I wanted to let you know that I am also an ACE certified Group instructor and (once I take my test) PT and LOVED your wts post! SUch good info and easy to follow for those who are starting out! Awesome! I actually referred one of my friends on a wt. loss journey over here today just for that! I also wanted to say that it might be fun living with your fam for a while because now you have taste-testers for your new and experimental recipes (sucha as the dbl choc macs)so you can take note of what will and will not be a big hit in the bakery you will inevitably have some day! Love it! Have a great evening!

So jealous of the person that won the macaroons. You don’t even have a business yet and already you have customers waiting anxiously for you opening day whenever it is!

  33. Melissa on September 21, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Gina! I have been reading your blog for a year or so now, and decided to leave my first comment 🙂 your “something to think about” hit a note with me. Just as you’re starting your new job in a new place, I just started something (kind of) new too…my final semester of college!! My mom emailed me this quote to start it off right: “If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.” –Fred Rogers. Take care of yourself in Orlando and keep making the difference that you do, every day!

    • Fitnessista on September 21, 2010 at 10:40 pm

That is so weird that your aunt’s book club just read Sarah’s Key. My mother in law’s book club just read it, too. I haven’t read it yet but she invited me to come this week and have wine and chat with her friends yesterday. So weird, right?!!?! You in Orlando, me in Mississippi….so far away, yet so close. Ha!

Hope you’re LOVING Orlando and spending some QT with your familia!

The bit about spelling park made me laugh – my animals will perk their ears up at anything that remotely sounds like the word!
