Peanut butter jelly dip + Bitsy’s Brainfood giveaway

This post is sponsored through my partnership with Bitsyโ€™s Brainfood + includes an amazing giveaway opportunity.

One of the things that Iโ€™ve noticed about Liv and young kiddos is that they like to feel like theyโ€™re part of the team, and not quite so different from the adults. This is why Iโ€™ll usually serve Liv what Iโ€™m eating (or she eats it out of my bowl, haha) or make her similar versions of our beloved meals. Itโ€™s a fun way to find out new favorites, and sheโ€™ll surprise me with the things she prefers. (Like the other day, she came into the kitchen and asked for a small bowl of cornichons. I was like, โ€œWhat?”) Needless to say, she was excited to see that I made a kidsโ€™-size cheese board for a recent dinner party.

I just cut up some turkey and cheese with a star cookie cutter, washed some strawberries, added a couple of string cheeses,

and made a bowl of peanut butter and jelly dip to serve with the new Bitsyโ€™s Brainfood Smart Crackers. The adults ended up going crazy for this stuff, too, and the crackers are perfectly sweet and salty.

Bitsys

Are you ready for the dip recipe? Itโ€™s seriously the easiest thing ever. (It reminds of a recipe I once read that was something like โ€œOpen a can of peas. Heat in a saucepan with butter. Eat.โ€ haha)

Combine equal parts cream cheese, peanut butter, and strawberry jam (<โ€” I used 1/3 cup of each). Heat on a medium-low until smooth and warm. Serve topped with cinnamon. Thatโ€™s it!

At least a few time during the night, the Pilot kept saying how great it was. It will definitely be a party staple from now on!

The dip paired perfectly with the new Maple Carrot Bitsyโ€™s Smart Crackers, which Liv absolutely loves. The Bitsyโ€™s Brainfood Smart Cookies are a staple in our house, so Liv was thrilled that there were new Bitsyโ€™s boxes when we went to Target.

Some more info about their new Smart Crackers:

-Each serving contains half a serving of organic veggies, and are a great source of Vitamins A, B6, B12, D and Folic Acid

-Theyโ€™re nut-free and baked in a peanut-free and tree nut-free facility

-The crackers are in fun Tangram shapes which help to teach logic, math and spatial reasoning. I appreciate any opportunities to inject learning into snack time, and the first time she tried the crackers, Liv started creating houses and rockets with the shapes.

-The Bitsyโ€™s Brainfood brand was handpicked as one of the 20 natural, organic and sustainable brands as part of Targetโ€™s Made to Matter collection. This makes it easier for consumers to find natural, organic and sustainable lines while shopping at Target. The Bitsyโ€™s cookies and crackers can be found at Target, and are 20% off through the Cartwheel app.

-Bitsyโ€™s Brainfood is one of my favorite product lines to purchase because the ingredients are fantastic, and I love the philosophy behind the brand. It was created by two moms with a mission to make healthy food fun, and they want to encourage kids to enjoy healthy options while theyโ€™re young, as these habits will stay with them as they grow. They donโ€™t hide the fact that there are fruits and veggies in their products because they want kids to know what theyโ€™re eating.

I would love to try these for my toddler! He isn’t a fan of sweet potato or carrots so I’d like to see if he’d enjoy these crackers!

I picked up a box of the carrot maple at Target after you said you liked them. I may have eaten more than my daughter. They are great with cream cheese and cinnamon too.

  7. Courtni Hughes on April 22, 2016 at 6:42 am

When I first saw the kids cheeseboard I thought it was adorable! My daughter would be equally as excited to be included in something like this for my next dinner party. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the idea!

  10. Sara G on April 22, 2016 at 6:46 am

When I was little, my favorite food was broccoli. Kind of weird, but I still love it now.

  11. Jasmine R on April 22, 2016 at 6:46 am

My girls are usually so picky with dry snacks, it’s hard to find something they both like. Our usual snacks are chopped up fruit or raisins. They always scarf it down!

  12. Chelsea Anthony on April 22, 2016 at 6:47 am

Yum! We’ll have to try those little crackers

  13. Erika on April 22, 2016 at 6:48 am

  14. Haley on April 22, 2016 at 6:53 am

Haha I was the worst as a kid… my poor parents. I lived off chicken tenders and corn on the cob.

  15. Ashley B on April 22, 2016 at 6:56 am

This dip is being made tonight! PB & J is my favorite combo.

  16. Kary F on April 22, 2016 at 6:57 am

We just tried the sweet potato crackers and they were a huge hit with my super picky son! I can’t wait to try the others. I have always loved apples and cheese as a snack, my son refuses to eat them together but he will snack on both one at a time ๐Ÿ™‚

I am not afraid to admit that my favorite snack as a kid (and as a college student) was Totino’s Pizza Rolls. I could easily kill a bag of those in one sitting. Oh, to be 17 again. But for real, if Totino’s decided to make a new organic additive free version, I’d be all over that shit.

  18. Dina on April 22, 2016 at 7:05 am

I was obsessed with the honey mustard and onion pretzel pieces. They were my favorite snack, and I remember getting myself a little bowl and taking them with me to my “hiding place” where I’d sit and read for hours.

  30. Rachel on April 22, 2016 at 7:24 am

I remember eating lots of peanut butter toast! Maybe because that has not changed at all…

  31. Cassie on April 22, 2016 at 7:25 am

I don’t remember snacking a whole lot as a kid. Pop tarts maybe.

Strawberry jelly on wonder bread…oh the 80s!

  42. Amanda on April 22, 2016 at 7:58 am

Favorite snack as a kid was Triscuit pizza – squirt of pizza sauce and piece of mozzerella cheese on top of a Triscuit, broil in toaster, and watch out for mouth burn.

  43. Amanda on April 22, 2016 at 8:00 am

One of my favorites things as a kid was nachos. I would specifically ask for “black bugs” (black olives) and “hot pickles” (jalapenos) to be on them. Even at a restaurant haha.

  44. Jody Hickmott on April 22, 2016 at 8:01 am

I’ts a tie between grandma’s chocolate chip cookie (her secret was the Nestle tollhouse recipe with more flour), oreo’s and doritos. I loved my junk food back then. Now I don’t even touch it.
