Sweet Friday Giveaway

Hi friends! How are you?

bella

[The Bella ball says “Happy Friday]

It’s another lovely, cool day over here. It’s very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.

I’m a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I can’t find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighbor’s mailbox.

I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:

and couldn’t help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.

Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think they’re destined for macaroon glory.

So how about a little giveaway?

roons (2)

Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.

For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.

roon

I’ll pick a random winner tonight at midnight and announce in my am post. The winner will receive a batch of macaroons in a flavor of their choice (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon, almond butter chocolate, Meyer lemon lavender).

Just to make things a little more fun, I’ll also add in a $50 Sephora gift card to celebrate all of the new fall colors and shimmer collections that are out.

Hope this makes your Friday a little sweeter!

See ya later today with a Family post <3

xoxo

Gina

    Hi Gina!

My favorite fall workout is running outside! It’s my favorite time of year to run.

  3. Leslie on October 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm

Hot Yoga. Definitely. I just love going from the cold outside into the nice warm room and getting all stretchy. 🙂

  4. Tess on October 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm

I love trail running in the fall, because the paths are no longer overgrown, the bugs are gone, and the changing leaves are GORGEOUS! I’m also a fan of hot yoga in the winter. 🙂

  5. Brooke on October 7, 2011 at 7:41 pm

My favorite fall workout is hot yoga because there is nothing like stepping outside after sweating like that and feeling the cool air!

  6. Mackenzie on October 7, 2011 at 7:41 pm

I am on the rowing team at my school, so my favorite fall workouts are definitely being out on the water whenever the weather permits, but I also love erging when we’re indoors for the winter!

  7. Renee on October 7, 2011 at 7:41 pm

I love walking outside in the fall. So glad the awful humidity is gone.

  8. Geralyn on October 7, 2011 at 7:42 pm

My weather is similar to Tucson so wintertime just means that it isn’t too hot to run outside. I can’t wait!

  9. Sam on October 7, 2011 at 7:42 pm

    yoga on the patio

  10. Lauren on October 7, 2011 at 7:42 pm

Fall is my absolute favorite season to run in!

  11. lay-j on October 7, 2011 at 7:44 pm

My fav fall workout is running outside. After the long, sweltering, hot summers in Oklahoma, I start feeling like a hamster on a wheel on the treadmill.

  12. Sigi on October 7, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Definitely long walks around the city (NYC)!

  13. Haley on October 7, 2011 at 7:47 pm

I love hikes in the fall when the leaves have changed 🙂

  14. Mer on October 7, 2011 at 7:51 pm

I LOVE running with my dog outside this time of year — not too hot or cold for her and it’s a perfect outdoor exercise to keep me motivated and her in shape! I also use it as an opportunity to run to the gym (a 3 mile round trip) to do weights, etc, and run home. Beats a treadmill any day!

  15. Libby on October 7, 2011 at 7:52 pm

I love taking my workouts outside because of how crisp the air feels. When I’m warm inside from running or biking, the cold air feels great on my skin.

  16. Chole Franklin on October 7, 2011 at 7:52 pm

I love doing mini “bootcamps” with my friends on our soccer field at school (college junior) after long days in the classroom! There are five of us and we each rotate every other Wednesday!

  17. Rachael on October 7, 2011 at 7:53 pm

I love going to walks at lunch in the fall – it is the perfect weather.

  18. Steph on October 7, 2011 at 7:53 pm

Come Fall, I start riding my bike outside more often!

  19. Kristen on October 7, 2011 at 7:53 pm

Finally being able to run outside and not on the boring treadmill because of the heat.

  20. Dayna on October 7, 2011 at 7:55 pm

It’s definitely starting to get colder here (Washington State), so in addition to my gym workouts, I bought some sessions at the local hot yoga studio to help keep me warm and loose!
    🙂

  21. Meredith on October 7, 2011 at 7:57 pm

i love a good long run outside – the crisp fall air always helps me pick up the pace!

  22. Barb on October 7, 2011 at 7:58 pm

I LOVE doing circuits outside! I love to run the block then do push ups in front of my house..then run to the mailbox and do lunges..ect. Neighbors think I’m crazy, but I LOVE the cool weather to get outside! I also love taking a nice long morning walk with a hot cocoa.

  23. Sarah on October 7, 2011 at 7:59 pm

Anything that I can do to get my sweat on! I get cold pretty easily, so when the weather cools down I can’t wait to kick my butt as a way to warm up!

  24. Shaya (Eye Girl Eats) on October 7, 2011 at 8:00 pm

My new favorite fall workouts are actually outdoor runs– it’s finally the right temperature here in Southern California!!! Back in Seattle though my favorite workout would have been lifting a mug of tea to my mouth, on the couch, wearing a Snuggie 😉

  25. ashley on October 7, 2011 at 8:01 pm

My favorite fall workout is a simple walk around our neighborhood with the hubs and our dog Bella! It’s nothing too exciting but is something I look forward to everyday!

  26. christa on October 7, 2011 at 8:05 pm

I dont know if I have a specific favorite, but anything outside is simply awesome at this time. The colors and the breeze with the sun is magical. Actually, its the calm before the {snow} storm, here in Chicago.
    Awesome giveaway!

  27. Sally on October 7, 2011 at 8:06 pm

I love to run/speed walk 🙂 outside when the weather gets nice. I just moved to Pittsburgh from Houston and am loving the nice weather! it’s particularly beautiful this weekend 🙂 have a nice one!

  28. kristi on October 7, 2011 at 8:09 pm

Jogging to and around the zoo with the kids… with lots of stops to check out the animals! The zoo isn’t crowded and it’s the best time of year to go to the zoo because it’s not too hot or too cold, so the animals are very active!

  29. Melissa on October 7, 2011 at 8:12 pm

I’d love to win some of those roons! I’m running my first full marathon in Chicago Sunday, but once the weather cools off I’ll be going to lots of classes at the gym and spending some time in the weight room. I like to do a lot less running in the winter – I’m afraid of falling on the ice, and I can’t stand the treadmill.

  30. Alexa on October 7, 2011 at 8:12 pm

Hey Gina! My favorite fall workout is simply walking outside with my dog Harley, I love the crisp air in the evening and the beautiful colors of the trees. 🙂

  31. Brittany on October 7, 2011 at 8:13 pm

My favorite is to RUN outside while it is cool!!!

  32. Coleen on October 7, 2011 at 8:14 pm

I am loving this cool weather because I also live somewhere where it gets really hot in the summer. My favorite workout of choice is playing tennis so I just enjoying not sweating buckets while I play in fall/winter(and I can usually play longer). The hubby and I will also start heading to the coast and the cities where we will walk for hours checking everything out.

  33. sarah (sarah learns) on October 7, 2011 at 8:14 pm

I don’t really like running outside during the summer, but as soon as the temperatures drop and fall hits, I love getting outside for good runs! sometimes w/ our dog. 🙂 he likes fall running too!

  34. Lesley on October 7, 2011 at 8:14 pm

I live in Florida, so Fall/Winter is racing season! I try to save up and do one half marathon each year. I like to go to the pool in the summer!

    Thanks Gina!

  35. jodie on October 7, 2011 at 8:16 pm

i definitely run outside more as well as take walks and play tennis and I also change up my Pilates routine by heating the room, (Hot Pilates). It makes a huge difference. Thanks again for another opportunity to win your macaroons.

  36. Amber on October 7, 2011 at 8:18 pm

Rollerblading to get in shape for nordic ski season! So much nicer when it’s not insanely hot out.

  37. Lauren @ Fun, Fit and Fabulous! on October 7, 2011 at 8:18 pm

I love running in the fall!!! 🙂

  38. Alexis on October 7, 2011 at 8:18 pm

Fall is my favorite season, so I’m taking advantage of it by running outdoors as much as I can … tomorrow morning I’m actually doing a 5K called the “Running of the Bulldogs,” where we race a bunch of bulldogs to the finish line (the college sponsoring it has a bulldog as the mascot)! I’m pretty stoked to say the least 🙂 I’ve already stocked up on warmer clothes to compensate for when the temperature drops even farther!

  39. Alana on October 7, 2011 at 8:19 pm

There is nothing better than running in New England as the weather starts to cool down! The leaves start changing color, the 60 degree temps are perfect, and it’s just beautiful!

  40. Jan on October 7, 2011 at 8:19 pm

Favorite fall workout for Austin, TX is running outside in less than 95 degree heat! Running feels so much easier when the temps are cooler.

  41. Amna on October 7, 2011 at 8:19 pm

I love workout dvd’s in the winter!

  42. LisaMarie on October 7, 2011 at 8:19 pm

I love running outside in the Fall. So refreshing 🙂

  43. Ruby on October 7, 2011 at 8:20 pm

Taking some (free!) classes at my school’s rec center.

  44. Jillian @ ladolcevitavegan.wordpress.com on October 7, 2011 at 8:21 pm

My favorite outdoor activity is running, without a doubt, especially in the fall! But in terms of indoor activities, definately zumba! I guess zumba would be my favourite of the two!

  45. Mai on October 7, 2011 at 8:24 pm

Since I live in Texas, I love to take advantage of the cooler fall weather to run outside.

  46. B on October 7, 2011 at 8:26 pm

Fav fall/winter workout…?? No question about it, skiing!!

  47. Runnin4fun on October 7, 2011 at 8:26 pm

Running! Fall is the perfect time to run! Actually,I love to run outside in all seasons. But fall is especially nice.

  48. Reena on October 7, 2011 at 8:26 pm

TurboFire! Seattle is too rainy in the fall to workout outside. And Chalene’s energy is motivating when it starts to get dark earlier.

  49. Caitlin on October 7, 2011 at 8:27 pm

exercise dvds in my basement gym!

  50. Beth on October 7, 2011 at 8:28 pm

I have to say that I am personally a huge fan of long distance running when it get’s nice and crisp outside. I also like going on little nature hikes. Fall is definitely the best time of year to do some nice hill drills with running and work on your running posture. Nothing like under armor season to get my blood going.
    Hope that helps! 🙂
