Sweet Friday Giveaway

Hi friends! How are you?

bella

[The Bella ball says “Happy Friday]

It’s another lovely, cool day over here. It’s very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.

I’m a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I can’t find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighbor’s mailbox.

I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:

and couldn’t help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.

Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think they’re destined for macaroon glory.

So how about a little giveaway?

roons (2)

Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.

For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.

roon

I’ll pick a random winner tonight at midnight and announce in my am post. The winner will receive a batch of macaroons in a flavor of their choice (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon, almond butter chocolate, Meyer lemon lavender).

Just to make things a little more fun, I’ll also add in a $50 Sephora gift card to celebrate all of the new fall colors and shimmer collections that are out.

Hope this makes your Friday a little sweeter!

See ya later today with a Family post <3

xoxo

Gina

My favorite workout is definitely running–I am going to have to find a new Fall favorite for October though. Doctor said no running, spinning, or lower body weights for a month! I have a feeling my bike and I will become good friends! 🙂

  2. Kelly on October 7, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Hi!! I love to take my workout outside at the basketball courts in my neighborhood. I use the length of the court for various walking lunges, lateral movements, etc. It alot of fun!

  3. Lauren on October 7, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Definitely running! It’s the perfect temps, and the changing leaves are so beautiful.

  4. Carsen on October 7, 2011 at 8:31 pm

Hot yoga is absolutely my favorite winter workout. 🙂

  5. Maddie on October 7, 2011 at 8:31 pm

although i do hot yoga year-round, i especially love it in the winter because my body just melts into my mat after a brisk walk from the car in the cooler temps!

  6. Natasha on October 7, 2011 at 8:34 pm

Honestly, I am not sure since this is my first winter working out. I know more outdoor walking will be involved with my son. I am hoping to convince the Zumba class instructor to go outside on a couple of the days.

  7. Emily C. on October 7, 2011 at 8:35 pm

I run year-round, but fall is the only time that I really LOVE it!

  8. Jessica on October 7, 2011 at 8:36 pm

Running is my favorite fall workout, while hot yoga in the winter is amazing 😉

  9. Rebecca on October 7, 2011 at 8:37 pm

after my 1st (!!) marathon on nov. 6th i’m taking a much needed rest from running and committing myself to a strength training program for a few months, most likely chalene extreme!

  10. misschels on October 7, 2011 at 8:37 pm

As the temps cool down I take my running to the streets. I have been on a treadmill most of the summer round these parts here in Texas because the humidity is super intense. I also do more Bikrahm yoga, it feels better to practice yoga in a hot room when the temps are cold outside, makes me look forward to something!

  11. Lauren on October 7, 2011 at 8:37 pm

I am going to first answer this with my LEAST favorite winter workout which is shoveling. Oh, how I loath any kind of outdoor winter activity but shoveling snow is the bane of my existence. I don’t care how many calories it burns, LoL.

Okay my favorite workout in the winter is Spin. I love that it has the same effects and outcome as running but I don’t have to freeze my buns off.

  12. Samantha C on October 7, 2011 at 8:38 pm

Running the BMX trail at my local park! Killer cardio and my butt is sore for days.

  13. Alicia on October 7, 2011 at 8:39 pm

I’ve never won a giveaway or anything really so THIS IS IT! Um my workouts… well I’ve been dealing with an injury for almost 2 years but I’m trying to stay positive even though I can’t workout like I’d like, I can still walk and see all the beautiful fall leaves. 🙂 So WALKING!

  14. Jen on October 7, 2011 at 8:42 pm

I love running in the fall! Not to cold, no to hot, just right.

  15. jen on October 7, 2011 at 8:45 pm

i started grad school this fall and things are super busy, so it’s been a challenge to find time to work out. but im making it work with quick runs outside and HIIT. and i even tried zumba with some new friends!

  16. Kristen W on October 7, 2011 at 8:46 pm

My favorite work out is just walking outside and looking at all of the beautiful leaves that have changed. Seriously an amazing sight!

  17. Hannah on October 7, 2011 at 8:49 pm

I really want to try hot yoga but nothing really near to me that’s easy access. Running for me!

  18. Emily Brown on October 7, 2011 at 8:49 pm

  22. Kyra on October 7, 2011 at 8:55 pm

I like jogging in the morning, followed by a steaming hot shower!

  23. Montanna Dunmore on October 7, 2011 at 8:56 pm

I would have to say tabatas on the treadmill…I don’t have a lot of time in the fall and winter as I am a teacher and they get me feeling like I had a great workout in a short amount of time… which is always a plus! 🙂

  24. Emily on October 7, 2011 at 8:58 pm

macaroons AND sephora?! 🙂 my favorite fall workout would be hiking on mild days when the leaves are changing

  25. Lili on October 7, 2011 at 9:02 pm

I live in the Pacific Nortrhwest, which means its been cold here for weeks, plus it rains so much! I’ve actually brought my workouts back indoors – hello again to the elliptical and treadmilll!

  26. Lindsey on October 7, 2011 at 9:03 pm

My favorite fall/winter workout is intervals on the treadmill or a hot bikram yoga class!

  27. Alexis on October 7, 2011 at 9:04 pm

My favorite fall workout is a track workout at the high-school track. Talk about HIIT Training! Sprints, bleachers, jog, lunges, more bleacher runs. Plus I bring a medicine ball and exercise bands to make every muscle happy. I love it…and my kids love coming to join in or cheer me on.

  28. Lisa Bailey on October 7, 2011 at 9:04 pm

Favorite fall winter workouts biking and hot yoga!

  29. Hannah on October 7, 2011 at 9:04 pm

I LOVE FALL!! I like to do running during the fall because it’s not too hot, but you aren’t freezing your buns off either

  30. Kelly on October 7, 2011 at 9:05 pm

Normally each Fall I would be training for the half marathon I do with my family in Niagara Falls. However, this summer I got hit by a car and I am nursing a knee injury. So no half marathon for me. 🙁 I am slowly getting back into the swing of things and my favorite workout is when my spin instructor moves class outside. Fresh fall air, beautiful scenery all the while sweating your booty off.

  31. Randi on October 7, 2011 at 9:05 pm

Love some Bikram yoga in the colder months. It warms my heart and soul!

  32. Stephanie on October 7, 2011 at 9:05 pm

I live in Portland, Oregon and hot yoga makes me feel so much better living amongst months of miserable cold rain! Love it!

  33. Katie on October 7, 2011 at 9:06 pm

Last fall, it was running, but this year it’s flag football and Turbofire. Our football games are at 9:30 at night, and it’s FREEZING in Seattle then, but once the game gets going, I totally forget about the temparture 🙂

  34. Helen on October 7, 2011 at 9:07 pm

I live in NH, so it gets cold here! I prefer to keep my workouts outside though, so I do lots of snow shoeing and cross country skiing, then warming up in a hot tub of course!

  35. Kristie on October 7, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Bikram yoga! Love being warm. Also walks outside with my dog, since those are mandatory.

  36. Marguerite Miller on October 7, 2011 at 9:12 pm

For me it would be walking and hiking! So glad the terrible heat finally broke in FL! Now I can finally get out for walks! And will go camping soon so we can do a little hiking! Just talked to my Dr today about getting back some energy!

Love the variety of Cloth Diapers now! When my kids were in diapers, you had one choice of cloth or disposable! I generally used the disposable, but I did have some cloth ones for backup! I could have rolled with all cloth if i had had these options!

  37. Kalynn on October 7, 2011 at 9:12 pm

My favorite fall/winter workout is the same as my favorite spring/summer workout: RUNNING! It’s just easier and a lot more enjoyable outside once the temperature finally drops out of the 90s/100s here in Texas! Thanks for offering another awesome ‘roon giveaway!!

  38. Christina on October 7, 2011 at 9:13 pm

I love to run in the morning when it is cool outside. I love fall mornings.

  39. Lauren on October 7, 2011 at 9:14 pm

I spend a lot of my weekends in Vermont so I try to take in the beautiful fall foliage by taking walks up and down the local hills.

My favorite fall workout is Pure Barre! It’s inside & I wear all my favorite lululemon pants to the class! 🙂

  42. Natalie on October 7, 2011 at 9:18 pm

Hot yoga and spin! I def workout more in the cold months since there isn’t much else to do when it’s 5 degrees and a foot of snow!

  43. Staci on October 7, 2011 at 9:19 pm

Running and hiking are my faves! in all weather!

I love to do P90X during the winter! I love that I can do it inside, and it’s still a killer workout. Although, I do sometimes enjoy going for a run outside in the crisp temperatures!

  49. sarah on October 7, 2011 at 9:23 pm
