The latest Stitch Fix

Usually when I receive a Stitch Fix (<–affiliate link) box, two things happen:

1) I dance around with the box and while singing a beloved show tune (ok, so I just get reaallllyyyy excited) and

2) I usually know right away what I’m going to keep and what I’m going to send back.

This is the first box that has left me kind of stumped! Here’s what’s in there; I’d love your help with yay-ing or nay-ing a couple of things.

(Yes, Stitch Fix is clothes shopping, which I gave up for lent. I could have canceled my shipment, not knowing where or when I’d receive another one, but I chose to keep it as something to look forward to before the move.)

Keeper: this springy mint dress. Perfect for church on Easter, or with sandals. I love the cut and style of it, too.

(with nude Steve Madden pumps)

Keeper: this light, printed Sanctuary tank

Stitch fix 1 of 1 6

Keeper: a simple, delicate gold necklace

Stitch fix 1 of 1 11

No clue: this printed shift dress. I LOVE the neckline and pattern, but the dress itself is shapeless and just looks kind of big.

This is my “halp me” face.

Stitch fix 1 of 1 7

Do I belt it? Keep it? I dunno.

Another one I’m not sure about: this bright and flowy top.

Stitch fix 1 of 1 10

I like it with my white Joe’s jeans, but I’m not sure if I love the color blocking.

What do you think?

I say NAY to both of them… if you don’t love them, why keep them. Neither has a flattering cut. They are very boxy.

    • JG on March 21, 2014 at 6:49 pm

      Agreed

  2. Tjasa on March 21, 2014 at 6:24 pm

I like the top I think you should keep it and the color block is actually fun for the summer. The dress not so much it doesn’t do much for you. I don’t really like it belted maybe better without belt but still not that faltering that you would call it a keeper. Here you go that’s my personal opinion!

  3. Kayla Tocco on March 21, 2014 at 6:28 pm

Nay to both- the shirt would be cute if it fit a little tighter, but it’s too baggy and I just don’t like the dress… (PS I’m in love with the first dress)

  4. Kaylee on March 21, 2014 at 6:28 pm

That first dress is so beautiful on you!

I actually really like the 2nd dress too if it has a belt – maybe with a roped, chunkier belt it would work? I think it looks really nice on you!

  5. Christine on March 21, 2014 at 6:30 pm

In my opinion, the top looks stunning on you. The dress is not a keeper though…too shapeless

  6. Katy on March 21, 2014 at 6:31 pm

Yes on the color block top, no to the dress–way too big for your tiny shape! Also, my rule of thumb is that if you can’t decide if you love something then you probably don’t love it that much and therefore won’t wear it that much.

  7. Alicia on March 21, 2014 at 6:31 pm

I adore that top and say KEEP IT! Heck, I would buy it from you! But the dress not so much…..

  8. Jessica C. on March 21, 2014 at 6:31 pm

I love that top. Add a long necklace or a bold collar necklace to it in a contrasting color, like pink or orange. I’m not sure on that dress either. Trust your gut!

  9. Molly on March 21, 2014 at 6:32 pm

I say yes for the top – really cute on you, no on the dress

  10. Heather on March 21, 2014 at 6:33 pm

The Easter dress is super cute but nay to the rest.

  11. Giselle@myhealthyhappyhome on March 21, 2014 at 6:37 pm

The first dress, top and necklace are cute but the second dress and top… Nah. I got my first Stitch Fix this month and love it! Can’t wait to order another!

  12. tina on March 21, 2014 at 6:38 pm

    NO to both!

  13. Heidi on March 21, 2014 at 6:39 pm

No to the dress, but I LOVE the top, so a definite yes there. It would fit nicely next to the ocean…

  14. Genny on March 21, 2014 at 6:40 pm

Keep the top, ditch the dress. The top is classic and so cute. The dress is a “meh”.

  15. Allie on March 21, 2014 at 6:42 pm

The first dress is so cute! The shift dress looks to be about a size (or two!) too big – and a bit long. I think shifts can be super cute, but that one just isn’t the right size.

  16. Taylor DuVall on March 21, 2014 at 6:43 pm

LOVE the color block top! It’s a keeper for sure!

  17. catherine c. on March 21, 2014 at 6:45 pm

I love the color block top. Nay to the shapeless dress. BUT the best advice i’ve always used with clothes especially–if you don’t love it, don’t buy it, because you won’t wear it!

  18. Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie on March 21, 2014 at 6:48 pm

You have an amazing shape and I think the dress hides it/ looks kind of frumpy. The color blocking top is adorable though, I’d keep that one.

  19. Laura B @ FitMamaLove on March 21, 2014 at 6:49 pm

I always pass on the things I’m not sure about. I’d rather save my money (or credit) for other things!

But that mint dress is amazing on you!

I’m definitely going to be asking for dresses in my next fix!

  20. Devin on March 21, 2014 at 6:51 pm

Nay for the dress. I’m mixed about the shirt. I do really like it with the white pants, but wish it was just one color.

  21. Vicki on March 21, 2014 at 6:52 pm

I’d ditch both. The dress is shapeless and sadly doesn’t belt well. The colour block top is cute, but I think it is really designed for less well endowed ladies! Those sort of tops should flow and skim and it looks too tight across your chest, which ruins the line.

  22. Becca on March 21, 2014 at 6:52 pm

I really like the blouse, but would skip the dress, as it’s not as flattering as it could be. The blouse looks nice with those jeans– I think it would have to be paired with tight jeans (like those) since it’s so loose.

I’ve done two Stitch Fixes and I loved them both. I’m super cheap about clothes but I splurged with Stitch Fix and ended up with some really nice stuff.

  23. Michelle on March 21, 2014 at 6:56 pm

The top is really cute! Definitely your color(s). Nay to the dress… too baggy!

  24. Molly on March 21, 2014 at 6:57 pm

The top looks great on you but, with your ridiculous figure, I’d send the dress back! Happy StitchFix Day!

  25. Carrie on March 21, 2014 at 6:58 pm

No on both. I mean you could totally pull them off if you really wanted to, but unlike the first two items which definitely work well on you, these just didn’t have the same effect.

  26. Theresa on March 21, 2014 at 6:58 pm

I say keep the color block tank and send the dress back! You look adorable, love the other items 🙂

  27. Claire on March 21, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Definitely keep the color block top–so flattering on you and love the colors!

  28. Lauren on March 21, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Love the color blocking and think the dress could be cute a few sizes smaller

  29. Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine on March 21, 2014 at 7:07 pm

The first min dress is beautiful! I would also keep the bright and flowy color blocked top!
But the printed dress is a nay for me :/

  30. Kristen on March 21, 2014 at 7:08 pm

No to both–they make you look much larger (and IMHO chopped up with the colorblock) than you are! My favorite on you is the mint dress. I’ve found if you have to ask…you already know the answer!

  31. Lauren on March 21, 2014 at 7:15 pm

Yes to the too! So so cute!!!! I’d say if the difference between buying the full thing with your 25% off and keeping the dress is minuscule, keep it and give it away to a reader or a friend 🙂

  32. Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries on March 21, 2014 at 7:21 pm

I’m not a huge fan of the dress. But, I do love the color block top! I think it’s fun for summer!

  33. Heahter on March 21, 2014 at 7:23 pm

The top is super cute…especially with the white jeans! Not a fan of the dress though. Send it back! 😉

  34. RachelG on March 21, 2014 at 7:23 pm

The pattern on the shift dress is beautiful (in my opinion), but the bottom half when belted is still too poofy.

  35. Rebecca on March 21, 2014 at 7:28 pm

No on both – that dress makes “the girls” disappear and that shirt just doesn’t hit you the right way. Love that first dress!!

  36. Jen on March 21, 2014 at 7:28 pm

The color block tank looks fantastic with the white jeans. I like it a little better than the printed one.

  37. Jenn on March 21, 2014 at 7:38 pm

They all look great on you! I say nay on the last two. 🙂

  38. Kendal A on March 21, 2014 at 7:48 pm

Love the first mint dress! Gorgeous dress!

I like the last top- its such a nice bright colour and with the white jeans its perfect. Nay to the second dress though.

  39. sogj on March 21, 2014 at 7:52 pm

The color and shape of the top are super flattering.

    The dress is oddly frumpy.

  40. Abby on March 21, 2014 at 7:55 pm

Yes to top, no to dress.

  41. Kristen @ Vitamin K Girl on March 21, 2014 at 8:01 pm

I say keep the color block top (I love it with those white jeans!) and nix the dress, like you said it’s just kind of shapeless and blah;) You could make it work though! I think it would look better with a thicker belt.

  42. Chrystal J on March 21, 2014 at 8:02 pm

I LOVE the color block top (and actually received something similar in my last fix and wear it all the time). I think it’s cute. 🙂 The dress seems a bit boxy…

  43. Heather on March 21, 2014 at 8:17 pm

I’d pass on both the items in question 🙂

  44. Mari on March 21, 2014 at 8:17 pm

I love the first dress! perfect for the start of spring!

  45. Meg @ A Dash of Meg on March 21, 2014 at 8:21 pm

ok so yes yes yes to the first dress. it is sooooo easter! i love it. and keep all the others you said keep cause i totally agree 😉 and i’m not loving the dress you’re unsure of but you can totally rock the colour blocked top! for sure. remember ->>>>> hott mama

  46. Taylor on March 21, 2014 at 8:23 pm

I love the first dress on you that you said you will be keeping!
The other dress however, doesn’t show off your lovely shape and even with a belt it appears it has too much material and alters the shape in an awkward way.

I like the colour block top, totally different look than everything else you have as it doesn’t look soft and sweet but more so bold and bright. Love it with your hair up too! Try it with a long necklace or a chunky short statement necklace.

  47. Maryz on March 21, 2014 at 8:26 pm

Nay…the dress looks too big. I like the color blocking but not the neckline of the blouse.

  48. Amber Schumann on March 21, 2014 at 8:27 pm

I would pass on the print dress….I’m dbfounded as well. As far as the color block top, definite keeper especially if you pair it with those jeans!!!!

I just got my latest SF this week, and it left me scratching my head as well… A little disappointing in fact. But I have hope….I’m keeping one item and immediately scheduling a “re-fix” 😉

I love that mint dress on you!! One of the focuses I mentioned in my fix was that I’m attending a wedding next month in Scottsdale…the dress they sent me wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. But like I said….gunna try again 😉

  49. Hilary on March 21, 2014 at 8:29 pm

I actually like the slightly larger/boxier proportion of the colorblock top with the white skinnies – plus the colors int it look really good with your dark hair (which, you have beautiful hair, FWIW). I agree with most of the others, though – nay on the shift dress – a shift dress should look/feel structured, and this one doesn’t do the trick.

    that dress is beautiful!
