Friday Faves
Hi hi! How are you? What are you up to this holly jolly weekend? We have an Elf party with friends – all the kids are wearing pajamas and watching Elf – a birthday party, I teach barre and train a few clients, and making tamales at my mom’s house. In my brain, it’s January already, but I’m trying to enjoy the last few weeks of this year as much as possible. I’d love to hear what you have going on!
Friday Faves 12.10
Obligatory yearly tree pic! This one is a GIANT – a 15-ft beauty.
Soooooooo when I first saw this tree, I told the Pilot that it was the one. I then proceeded to wrap my arms around a few branches in a joyful embrace, but my bubble was quickly burst when I learned the price of said (disposable) tree. We walked around for a little while and found a couple of 10 ft ones we liked just as much, and then one of the employees came back over to us and said, “We’ll give you a deal on the huge one.”
Sold to the lady in the Sakara sweatshirt with the ballerina and astronaut lol.
We had to get the tree delivered since it wouldn’t fit on our SUV. It took four guys, including the Pilot, to hoist the tree. There were needles everyone and it takes up half of our living room. It’s perfection and we’re living it up in pure Griswold fashion. While I can’t say this will be an every year thing, it’s AWESOME to have this year. I should have taken a video of the Pilot and myself attaching the star using a 16 ft ladder, an 8 ft ladder, a Swiffer, and a broom.
Worth it and the house smells amazing.
Another random adventure: one of the Pilot’s work Christmas parties. It was late 1800s Western theme, so lots of fancy dresses, fake mustaches, and cowboys….
and wigs?
Ok the Pilot was the only one in a wig. His costume inspiration was the thespian from Tombstone. It was definitely a hit!!
Some more faves from the week and around the web:
Good eats:
Peppermint chocolate amazeballs
Crunchy almond butter truffles (LOVE these as a unique addition to holiday cookie platters)
EPIC list of Christmas cookie recipes
Slow cooker holiday mulled wine
Fashion + beauty:
Dede’s Instagram. I love every single outfit she posts and definitely recommend checking out her profile if you’re looking for style inspiration!
Bombas slippers! I ordered a pair a couple of years ago and always look forward to wearing them around. They look like ridiculous elf socks but it doesn’t matter when your feet are this warm and cozy.
Beautycounter holiday flash sale! 30% off select gift sets. If you’ve been waiting to get some clean beauty gifts, or want to treat yourself, I would definitely do it now. Once these sets are gone, they’re gone.
If you’re holiday shopping, my gift guides are here!

Beautiful tree! I love how your daughter just casually wears an astronaut costume to the Christmas tree farm 🙂 Kids are the best!
she wore it all weekend! i was just like live your life. 🙂 the best part is that everyone was so cute about it, asking her which planet she was visited, what she thinks about earth, how long has she been an astronaut, etc. the best ever
There are so many things I love about this post! That tree is EPIC! And the story surrounding it is even better. P in her astronaut costume is my absolute fave!!!
