Morning greens
Hi everyone! I just want to say hi to all of the new Fitnessista readers out there ๐ Thanks so much for checking out my little bloggyโฆplease kick back and stay for a while.
Iโll even make you some green juice ๐
I drank that beauty this morning for a pick-me-up while I made the pilot breakfast and got my running gear together.
Before heading out the door, I also munched a breakfast cookie:
-1/3 cup oats
-1 small banana
-1/2 scoop Sun Warrior
-cinnamon
-water (donโt ever do this.. almond milk is so much better, but I was out)
-1 T almond butter
-1 T chia seeds
and then I went down to the base trail for an 4.65 mile run. It was so nice to wake up early and get cardio out of the wayโฆ the only snafu was that my shuffle started acting up towards the end. Iโm convinced ipizzles hate me.
To rewind (a lot), dinner last night was pretty epic.
Tilapia with thyme, garlic, lemon, sea salt and pepper, roasted asparagus with lemon and garlic and my favorite saffron brown rice with peas. To me, saffron is a necessary investment in any spice cabinet. It makes rice taste like foodgasms ๐
And a simple salad with Organicville balsamic:
Iโm off to make raw lunches for my clients (I hope they like them!), train a couple of clients and then teach yoga before going back to the other gym for one more appointment.
Oh! And order my dress for the formal Air Force dinner (Dining Out) thatโs coming up in February.
I think this one is the winner:

I lurve it.
K, Iโm off! See ya later ๐

Todayโs tip: Plan out your workout in advance. Print out cardio routines, or weight routines (like the Shape Up or Intro to Iron Pumping) or write down what you want to do on a little notecard. It makes it much easier to go through your list and accomplish your workout goals if you have a plan when you walk in the door.
Hey!! I tried my first breakfast cookie today!!!! I loved it and will def be making it again ๐
Thank you so much!!
whoo hoo!
i’m so glad you liked it ๐
Your tip is so true! I always find it easier to get through strength training routines when I write out which exercises I want to do. It also gives me motivation to continue through the whole thing instead of stopping whenever I feel like it.
I’m a new Fitnessista reader! Yay! Just wanted to say “hi” back. ๐
*wave* hiiiiiiiii! ๐

I have a question about the Winter Shape up. You write that we should aim for weights three days a week and cardio, does the circuit count as weights or is that cardio and we are supposed to be doing weights days in addition to the circuit? Thanks!
just do cardio in addition to the circuit and you’ll be golden ๐
I love that dress! The rental thing is genius…have you used the site before?
no, this will be my first time!
I love the dress (especially the back)!
Hi! I’ll definitely stay a while! Do you have a recipe for that brown rice/pea dish??? It looks fantasmic, kind of like risotto!
hey! i’m so glad you decided to stick around ๐
it was super easy, i just sauteed half an onion and added 2 cups veggie broth, brought to a boil. stirred in 1 cup sticky brown rice, and let simmer for 30 minutes. added the peas (about 1.5 cups frozen), two pinches of saffron and some garlic powder
That dress is HOT! I love the back!
