Hey everyone! HAPPY FRIDAY!

I’ve got a seriously amazing giveaway to kick off the weekend….

Remember this cookbook that I got (and have been experimenting with a little this week)??

011

I talked to Sarma, founder of One Lucky Duck and co-founder Pure Food and Wine, and she has graciously offered a Fitnessista reader a signed copy of her new cookbook!!!

This cookbook is outta control amazing. The recipes are easy to follow, don’t require a ton of obscure ingredients or fancy schmancy equipment and demonstrate that raw food doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful and delicious. It also includes a boatload of information on nutrition and the raw lifestyle, yet reads like an email from a good friend. I read the book in it’s entirety within 2 days.

It’s also a feast for the eyes with stunning photos…

Recipes for juices….

013

Salads, soups, snacks and impressive entrees….

014

Cocktails and desserts….

015

Are ya sold yet??? 😀

Here’s how you can get 2 chances to win this beautiful cookbook:

  1. Leave a comment stating why you’d like to win this cookbook and/or what you’d like to make first if you win
  2. Link back to this post on your blog and send me an email (fitnessista at gmail dot com) with the link to your post. If you don’t have a blog, no worries, just send me an email and I’ll get your extra entry in

I’ll post the winner at 8am EST on Monday, July 13th

***************EDITED TO SAY: This giveaway has ended as of 7/13/09 0800.

See ya after lunch and work 😉

xoxo,

G

I would love to win this cookbook for MANY reasons. First I live in Las Vegas, the desert after having moved from California and I miss fresh produce!! It’s harder to find "the healthy" lifestyle that I had there. Also 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a condition that requires me to eat only whole fruits and vegetables, no dairy, etc and I have been stuck for the last few months trying to figure out what to make that TASTES good!! The very first thing I am going to make is Vanilla Chia Pudding – I have look at your pictures of it everyday (Yes I am like a kid in a candy store) and can't wait to try it!! Thank you so much to BOTH of you!! You girls Rock!!

  10. Mindy on July 10, 2009 at 11:11 am

I've been eating raw until dinner for several weeks now, and have never felt better. However, I have been making the same salad over and over again.

This cookbook will allow me to branch out from my standard salad into much more exotic fare. Plus, it will likely provide me with some recipes for my new spiralizer!

  11. Jen on July 10, 2009 at 11:12 am

Nice! I would probably try one of the juices or smoothies first! thanks!

  12. Peabody on July 10, 2009 at 11:13 am

I would love to win this cookbook. I have really tried to shift to breakfast and lunch being raw and would love some recipes to help me do so.

  13. Meg on July 10, 2009 at 11:15 am

Wow, that cookbook looks awesome. I'm like so many other people, I have no idea how to work raw foods into my diet other than simple fruits and veggies!

I Reeeeeeeeeally want to win this cookbook, I want to being eaten more raw foods and I know that having this cookbook will really get me started and motive me to eat raw!

  15. Julie on July 10, 2009 at 11:18 am

As a raw food newbie, I've put this book in my amazon cart more than once after seeing your reviews, but I'm hesitant to take the plunge and purchase it. This giveaway would be muy perfect-o for me:)!

  16. Annie on July 10, 2009 at 11:20 am

I'd love to win this book so I could give it to my sister for her 30th birthday this year. She's been experimenting with vegetarian, vegan, and raw food for the past few years, and I admire her so much for doing it. She does it for herself, but more so for the animals and earth she loves.

If I were to win this cookbook, I think I'd pick out a special meal and make it for my sister, and then present the book along with the meal. I know she'd love it!

  17. tonjatoi@hotmail.com on July 10, 2009 at 11:20 am

Gina – has anyone told you how much you rock today? Like several other commenters here, reading your blog has really inspired me to make a conscious effort to eat more natural and raw foods. You make everything look so yummy and fun!

If I win I'm all over an entree my family will will never know is raw and healthy.

  18. Melissa G on July 10, 2009 at 11:23 am

I would love to win this book! I just recently bought a juicer and don't know what fruits and veggies go well together. I've just been stuck in a carrot/apple/beet rut, which is good, but I think I could benefit from all the juice recipes in the cookbook! I really hope I win!

I would love to win this cookbook. I just found your site and can't wait to try your workouts. I wish you lived at RAF Lakenheath so I could hire you to be my trainer. I am on my way to losing 40 pounds and you are inspiring me.
I am also a military spouse. I have made it through 18 years so if you ever need any tips in that area, let me know.
    Hugs

Great giveaway!! I am a new raw food convert and need Sarma's help with meal ideas. On top of that I just made reservations at pure food and wine!! She is such an inspiration for her creativity when it comes to foods that most deem inedible or bland. Fingers crossed that I get to try all her amazing recipes in the comfort of my own home! Thanks Fitnessista.

I've been following so many blogs that have posted so many delicious looking raw meals but do not have the actual recipe to follow. As Gena posted on her blog, I too have IBS and would love to slowly incorporate raw meals into my diet to see if will ease my symptoms. Winning this book would be a great starting point in educating myself more on raw meals.

I have been wanting this cookbook ever since it first appeared on your blog! It's on my Amazon list, but free would be even better!!!

  36. Emma on July 10, 2009 at 11:47 am

Hi! I would love to win this cookbook for a bunch of reasons. One, in the last month, I have begun reading several "Food Blogs," including yours, the Nutritionista, Shedding It and Getting It, and Carrots 'N' Cake; pre-blog days, I was starving myself and working my butt off at the gym to try to lose weight. Now, I'm eating well, exercising healthily, and paying attention to what my body needs. Surprisingly (to me), I'm still losing weight, but very slowly; and my body is changing, getting more toned, and I just feel better.

That all being said, in my new healthy lifestyle, I'm learning the benefits of eating "clean" and real foods, and I'm pretty sure this cookbook would be an amazing addition to my kitchen and food repertoire.

I'm not going to lie – I'm most curious about the raw desserts (especially after trying the banana froyo – Amazing!). But, I've also been dying to try some juice recipes and some new salads.

You're awesome! Keep up the good work (and the great blog)!

  37. Melissa on July 10, 2009 at 11:51 am

  44. Katerina on July 10, 2009 at 12:09 pm

What a great giveaway! I recently picked up a juicer at a garage sale for $10 so I would probably make juices first.

  45. jean on July 10, 2009 at 12:09 pm

This would be a great way to do more than just stick my big toe in the water of eating raw. I have food allergies (processed corn – as in HFCS), so I need to explore this raw food concept more. Thanks for the giveaway, and for sharing your enthusiasm for eating raw! Not sure what the first thing is that I would fix – maybe a juice? Breakfast is hard for me (on the go).

  46. Petite Noonie on July 10, 2009 at 12:12 pm

I would love to win this cookbook because while I don't want to be a raw foodist, I definitely want to incorporate more raw foods into my diet.
