Favorite things giveaway: barre3

Today’s giveaway is extra special because EVERYONE is already getting a sweet gift from barre3: 15 days of free unlimited online classes!! To redeem yours, click this link and enter the code “barre3fitnessista”

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of barre workouts. I love all of the various types, teach weekly barre classes, and also seek out new and beloved studios when I travel. My good friend Kate owns the Tucson barre3 studio (go say hello! She is the sweetest ever, and then she’ll make your legs cry) and I love take classes when I get the opportunity. Barre3 is unlike traditional barre classes. Many of the exercises are similar, but there is a mind-body element to Barre3 (a yoga, Pilates and barre lovechild), and they have a holistic approach to health and wellness. barre3 doesn’t end when you walk out the door; I feel that they truly support and encourage their clients with overall health, balance and wellbeing. In addition to the classes, they provide support for mamas with their Play Lounge (Liv loves it!), and also offer healthy recipes, tips and advice through their website.

Staying hydrated keeps me focused during the Holiday season! I notice when I’m dehydrated that’s when the bad food starts to seep in. <3 barre3 so much!

Definitely planning keeps me on track. The weeks (or days) where I don’t really know what I’ll be eating or what workout I’ll be fitting in always end up being a gluttonous, lazy day haha.

I just activated my trial and think I’m going to try the 7 day body blast! I figure since I have the free trial might as well make the most of it 🙂

Drinking lots of water and getting a good amount of sleep (or at least trying to!) helps me to stay balanced year round. 🙂

    Not going to work!

I’m a teacher and a homebody so just not going to work! I workout, go shopping, spend time with my family so that helps me stay balanced.

My work!! I’m a dietitian, so this time of year, I spend a LOT of time talking to my clients about how to stay on track during the holidays. I can’t help but practice what I preach. 🙂

I cut myself some slack and enjoy family time and parties, and make sure to squeeze in activity whenever possible, even if it’s parking in the back of the parking lot or taking the stairs.

During the holidays, my biggest challenges occur when I travel to my parents’ house. I stay balanced by running most days (usually with my Dad) and taking their pup for a walk (extra exercise + alone-to-clear-my-head time).

i maintain balance by staying a minimalist during the holidays. We decorate one room, not the whole house. I don’t mail out holiday cards, started using postagram to send out post cards to close friends and family that have sent us mail. I bake a few of our favorite treats, not all of them during this month. For coworkers and teachers gifts, i send a thankful note with a $1 lottery scratch off.

I stay balanced by watching my water intake. It helps me make sure I am actually hungry before I eat something, and not just thirsty.

  41. Jen on December 5, 2014 at 8:46 am

I get my workouts done first thing in the morning. Life gets busy, so I do it before anything else comes up!

  42. Karin on December 5, 2014 at 9:00 am

  47. Savanna on December 5, 2014 at 10:36 am

This year is going to be especially easy to stay on track since I’m breast feeding my son. I know whatever I eat he does too. This will help me not go overboard on the sweets!
