Favorite things giveaway: barre3

Today’s giveaway is extra special because EVERYONE is already getting a sweet gift from barre3: 15 days of free unlimited online classes!! To redeem yours, click this link and enter the code “barre3fitnessista”

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of barre workouts. I love all of the various types, teach weekly barre classes, and also seek out new and beloved studios when I travel. My good friend Kate owns the Tucson barre3 studio (go say hello! She is the sweetest ever, and then she’ll make your legs cry) and I love take classes when I get the opportunity. Barre3 is unlike traditional barre classes. Many of the exercises are similar, but there is a mind-body element to Barre3 (a yoga, Pilates and barre lovechild), and they have a holistic approach to health and wellness. barre3 doesn’t end when you walk out the door; I feel that they truly support and encourage their clients with overall health, balance and wellbeing. In addition to the classes, they provide support for mamas with their Play Lounge (Liv loves it!), and also offer healthy recipes, tips and advice through their website.

I would LOVE to try Barre3 workouts because I like the barre style but also need a little more yoga mind/body in my life. I will activate my free trial next week when I know I will have time to do some of the workouts. Thanks! 🙂

I stay balanced during the holidays by not beating myself up. I work two jobs (and one is very active – waitressing) so sometimes I just can’t get in a workout. I do as much as I can and try to eat as healthy as possible!

Omg I cannot WAIT to try one of these workouts tonight!! Probably one of the core ones since I’ll be running and doing a spin class as well.

  13. Jenny on December 3, 2014 at 9:01 am

Fresh air! With the cold temps and it getting dark before I’m home its so easy to just do indoor workouts, indoor errands and tasks, and play fetch with the dog int he hallway. But when I make sure to get outside regularly in the evenings to walk the dog helps to clear some of the stress.

i stay balanced during the holidays by planning my workouts in advance and finding local studios by my home to try out while I’m traveling. Over Thanksgiving, this was the perfect approach! I was able to fit in an OTF class, yoga, barre, and a race! All while away from home 🙂

  16. april on December 3, 2014 at 9:03 am

i try to drink lots of water and eat veggies at every meal 🙂

I stay on track by sticking to morning workouts. It’s painful, but I commit to 3 6am pilates classes a week, and cardio on the other mornings. After work, it never happens — especially around the holidays with all the fun parties, happy hours, shopping, etc.

  22. Betsy on December 3, 2014 at 9:11 am

I find balance by scheduling yoga once a week. It clears my mind and everything settles I to place!

I plan to take time for myself to go to yoga classes to stay balanced!

  27. Beth on December 3, 2014 at 9:15 am

Yoga helps me stay sane all year but especially during the holidays. I try to practice 2-3 times a week.

  28. Stefanie on December 3, 2014 at 9:16 am

I stay balanced by playing outside with my son, especially in the snow!

i stick to regular workouts all through the holidays, even try to remember mindful eating and portion control.

  33. Beth on December 3, 2014 at 9:21 am

I was planning on doing pilates today but instead I’ll do a barre workout! I can’t wait to try it for the first time. I use to take ballet lessons and I love pilates and yoga so I don’t know what took me so long to give barre3 a try! The first workout I’m going to try is barre3 anywhere since I don’t have a ball.

  34. Michelle on December 3, 2014 at 9:21 am

One thing that helps me stay balanced this time of year is drinking lots of water. With all of the sugar, alcohol, and late nights, I really need to hydrate more than ever! I make sure to carry a water bottle with me everywhere I go. Making sure I am drinking tons of water is at the top of my to-do list this time of year.

  35. Katie on December 3, 2014 at 9:22 am

I stay balanced during the holidays by saying no to certain things and not feeling guilty about it. I’ve learned I enjoy the things I say yes to even more when I don’t say yes to everything. It’s all about prioritizing.

  36. Michelle on December 3, 2014 at 9:22 am

I signed up for the free trial. Thanks so much! I’m going to try the barre3 Anywhere workout first because there are no props.

  37. Greta on December 3, 2014 at 9:23 am

Making time for yoga makes me feel balanced. It gets my blood flowing and helps my mind go on a mini “vacation” from the extra demanding to do list I always seem to have this time of year.

  38. Megan on December 3, 2014 at 9:23 am

Meditating and just taking some time to breathe every day helps me stay grounded

  39. Greta on December 3, 2014 at 9:23 am

    I think I’ll try “barre3 rejuvinate” first.

  40. Alexis on December 3, 2014 at 9:24 am

My biggest struggle with balance is making sure I don’t spend all my time at the office. It sounds weird, but I’ve found better balance during the holiday season when I make sure I am at work by 8 and I’m out the door by 5 (emergencies/fire drills aside). It forces me to maximize my time at the office, and ensures that I have time to run errands, meet up with friends, walk my dog, spend time with my husband, and of course, Christmas shop 🙂 Once I start letting work slip until 5:30 or 6:30, it’s a slippery slope and I run out of time for everything.

Thank you for the barre3 giveaway – I’ve been meaning to try a barre class for so long, and this is the perfect way to get started.

  41. ashley on December 3, 2014 at 9:24 am

I stay balanced by tallying up my food and acitivties on my fitness pal 🙂

I am not a fan of the chaos that erupts during the holiday season…it seems like the world erupts into a cluster-you-know-what, and it makes me avoid shopping, driving, etc. whenever I can. It’s sad. So I just keep the peace in my own home–warm and cozy decorations, nostalgic holiday movies, and reminiscing as we decorate our tree with sentimental ornaments collected throughout our lives.

    And wine. Of course. 🙂

  44. Cayla on December 3, 2014 at 9:24 am

I stay balanced by not stressing too much about indulging or missing a workout. I definitely work to stay as healthy as possible during the holidays but if I have an extra cookie or two, who’s counting? No one! 🙂 I can’t wait to try the barre workouts, I love all the ones you post so these should be great too.

  45. Amber Schumann on December 3, 2014 at 9:25 am

I’m interested in trying out the 7 Day Body Blast! Going to give it a go this evening! 🙂

Something that helps me stay balanced is meal prep! I continue to eat and prep the same way I have all year, that way even if I splurge a little too much at too many holiday parties and events, I still have good overall nutrition the rest of the week. 🙂

    oh & Yoga!

  49. melissa on December 3, 2014 at 9:30 am

I’m really excited for the 30 min workouts – the Rejuvenate one looks great! I can do these while catching up on a TV show!

  50. Cara's Healthy Cravings on December 3, 2014 at 9:31 am

I find balance over the holiday season by just sticking with my normal routine. Lots of good sleep exercise, whole foods, which leaves lots of room for delicious treats.
