Favorite things giveaway: barre3

Today’s giveaway is extra special because EVERYONE is already getting a sweet gift from barre3: 15 days of free unlimited online classes!! To redeem yours, click this link and enter the code “barre3fitnessista”

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of barre workouts. I love all of the various types, teach weekly barre classes, and also seek out new and beloved studios when I travel. My good friend Kate owns the Tucson barre3 studio (go say hello! She is the sweetest ever, and then she’ll make your legs cry) and I love take classes when I get the opportunity. Barre3 is unlike traditional barre classes. Many of the exercises are similar, but there is a mind-body element to Barre3 (a yoga, Pilates and barre lovechild), and they have a holistic approach to health and wellness. barre3 doesn’t end when you walk out the door; I feel that they truly support and encourage their clients with overall health, balance and wellbeing. In addition to the classes, they provide support for mamas with their Play Lounge (Liv loves it!), and also offer healthy recipes, tips and advice through their website.

To stay balanced during the holidays I try to focus more on workouts than I do with eating. I let myself indulge in all the delicious holiday appetizers and drinks for a couple of weeks and just try to maintain a regular workout schedule. Sometimes this can be hard too with traveling and parties so I try to get in a little bit of exercise whenever I can! Overall staying active and enjoying the food and family time makes me feel balanced and happy during the holidays!

  5. Karina on December 3, 2014 at 10:22 am

During the holidays, I make sure to get my workout in early before family/friend time starts! What a great giveaway, thanks, Gina! Love barre workouts!

My biggest part of trying to stay balanced is to keep up with my WODs for the week and make sure I eat a good breakfast/lunch/dinner, depending on when the holiday event may be.

During the holidays, I usually travel back home. I find it’s harder to eat healthy when you’re staying with someone else. In order to keep some balance, I will offer to cook dinner, pack a water bottle, and make sure to bring along some fruit to eat throughout the day.

My favorite way to stay balanced over the holidays is to look at fitness classes offered in the places I am traveling to beforehand, so I can schedule them before I even get there. It helps keep my accountable because I don’t want to waste the money I paid to hold my spot, and I don’t have to worry about finding a studio once I am in the midst of family time!
