Favorite things giveaway: barre3

Today’s giveaway is extra special because EVERYONE is already getting a sweet gift from barre3: 15 days of free unlimited online classes!! To redeem yours, click this link and enter the code “barre3fitnessista”

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of barre workouts. I love all of the various types, teach weekly barre classes, and also seek out new and beloved studios when I travel. My good friend Kate owns the Tucson barre3 studio (go say hello! She is the sweetest ever, and then she’ll make your legs cry) and I love take classes when I get the opportunity. Barre3 is unlike traditional barre classes. Many of the exercises are similar, but there is a mind-body element to Barre3 (a yoga, Pilates and barre lovechild), and they have a holistic approach to health and wellness. barre3 doesn’t end when you walk out the door; I feel that they truly support and encourage their clients with overall health, balance and wellbeing. In addition to the classes, they provide support for mamas with their Play Lounge (Liv loves it!), and also offer healthy recipes, tips and advice through their website.

I try and get a little more sleep during the holidays – helps keep my immune system up!

  2. Jacquelyn @justjacq on December 3, 2014 at 12:12 pm

To stay on track over the holidays I try to remember it’s all about balance. November and December are holidays heavy on food and that’s okay. Eat, get out, and enjoy life!

planning time at the beginning of the week helps me to stay balanced- that way I at least know when I can get my workout in, and I don’t let myself skip it!

  5. Jacquelyn @justjacq on December 3, 2014 at 12:15 pm

I’m going to try cardio, strength and stability!

  6. Gina on December 3, 2014 at 12:16 pm

Meal planning and prep, and consistent workouts keep me balanced through the holidays, so on the days I go to holiday parties I feel fine about eating some holiday treats. Also, I won’t eat treats that aren’t holiday specific–like chocolate chip cookies–I can get those any time of the year! I bring a healthy(er) treat to parties so I know there’s something I can eat and feel great about.

I love to stay fit during the holidays with yoga – it keeps my body AND my mind sane. So important!

  8. Mary C on December 3, 2014 at 12:20 pm

Just had a baby….and am secretly SUPER psyched to overindulge a bit this holiday season. Will plan some great New Year’s resolutions though!

To keep me balanced and sane, I exercise-even if it is quick 15 minute walk around the block.

Getting plenty of sleep, and working out (as much as time allows) help me stay balanced 🙂

  24. Kerry on December 3, 2014 at 12:38 pm

It can be so hard for me to stay balances during the holidays. I work two jobs (one full-time in an office and one part-time in retail) so it can be hard to fit everything else in during the holiday madness. I make sure to make sleep and “me” time a priority so i don’t completely lose my mind!

  25. Carrie on December 3, 2014 at 12:38 pm

Working out definitely keeps me balanced during the holidays, and during any other busy time!

  26. Alyssa on December 3, 2014 at 12:39 pm

Just signed up for the free trial! I am so excited because this could not have come at a more perfect time for me. I am going to be traveling for work all next week and planned to do some hotel room circuits. Now, I am definitely going to try the Barre 3 Anywhere video! No props necessary and perfect for travel 🙂

  32. Michael Clare on December 3, 2014 at 12:47 pm

I stay balanced by allowing myself to enjoy holiday treats and not beating myself up for missing a workout- I just begin again everyday and forget what happened yesterday!

  36. Lizzie @ The Magic Tree on December 3, 2014 at 12:52 pm

Taking the time to do the things I love really helps me stay balanced. Baking, taking a bath, reading a book, or all of the above 🙂

  37. Ellen S on December 3, 2014 at 12:53 pm

I always try and get enough sleep each night!

  38. Emily on December 3, 2014 at 12:57 pm

Getting up to early to sneak in a little yoga or quick workout helps me stay balanced and reduce stress.

  39. Amy on December 3, 2014 at 1:01 pm

I work out at 5am most mornings…no matter how crazy the days gets, at least I exercised! A Barre3 studio just opened in my town…not sure if I can afford to take a class there, so the free online trial is perfect – I think I’ll try the Lunch Hour Body Blast first.

  40. Becca on December 3, 2014 at 1:06 pm

I’m trying Hot tea! (which I NEVER drink) and also eating right and avoiding holiday treats until at least the 20th! I usually dig right in on Dec 1 with the holiday eating. Trying to avoid not only the Holiday weight gain this year, but also the colds that come with letting my immune system get down by filling it with junk! 😀

  41. annie on December 3, 2014 at 1:08 pm

I am staying on top of my H2O intake, very important during this season!!!

  42. Monica on December 3, 2014 at 1:09 pm

My trick for staying on track is to make sure I’m bringing a healthy dish that I love. Then I know I’ll make a point to at least get a solid portion of something nutritionally dense on my plate.

  43. Monica on December 3, 2014 at 1:09 pm

I also follow you on Instagram. 🙂

  44. Lisa on December 3, 2014 at 1:13 pm
