Favorite things giveaway: barre3

Today’s giveaway is extra special because EVERYONE is already getting a sweet gift from barre3: 15 days of free unlimited online classes!! To redeem yours, click this link and enter the code “barre3fitnessista”

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of barre workouts. I love all of the various types, teach weekly barre classes, and also seek out new and beloved studios when I travel. My good friend Kate owns the Tucson barre3 studio (go say hello! She is the sweetest ever, and then she’ll make your legs cry) and I love take classes when I get the opportunity. Barre3 is unlike traditional barre classes. Many of the exercises are similar, but there is a mind-body element to Barre3 (a yoga, Pilates and barre lovechild), and they have a holistic approach to health and wellness. barre3 doesn’t end when you walk out the door; I feel that they truly support and encourage their clients with overall health, balance and wellbeing. In addition to the classes, they provide support for mamas with their Play Lounge (Liv loves it!), and also offer healthy recipes, tips and advice through their website.

For me to stay on top of things, I have to prioritize my time-deciding what’s most important and be sure to fit that in. Because holiday season is busy busy, it’s easy to put my exercises on the back burner, but I know it’s important to me and just overall makes me feel better so I make sure it fits into my schedule, even if it means saying no once or twice to another social event. But family always comes first:)

  24. Lindsey Giles on December 3, 2014 at 4:49 pm

To stay balanced during the holidays I try to focus on something simple and not overwhelming like drinking enough water. I’ve found if I’m doing one healthy habit it extends to other areas of health.

  25. Yvette on December 3, 2014 at 4:53 pm

I save my vacation time for the last two weeks of the year. It gives me breathing room to prep for the holidays, endure the holiday family marathon, and regroup before going back to work refreshed for the new year. It’s a favorite tradition.

  26. Katie O on December 3, 2014 at 4:59 pm

During the holiday season, a little quiet time to read a book or make lists helps me stay sane!

  27. Yvette on December 3, 2014 at 5:01 pm

I follow you already on Instagram but somehow didn’t see your planksgiving until today! And I think the Barre anywhere class looks like a good place to start — thanks for the trial!

  28. Katie O on December 3, 2014 at 5:02 pm

I will SO be trying the post-baby bounce back first! I’m trying to decide between glutes and core and the full body one. My booty needs a real lift!

Exercise! As much as I hate getting outta bed when my alarm goes off at 4:45 I know how amazing I feel after and how much more perspective I have.

  31. Rachel on December 3, 2014 at 5:06 pm

  32. Emily @ Emily's Full Plate on December 3, 2014 at 5:06 pm

Drinking enough water keeps me balanced. Being hydrated curbs excessive holiday snacking and staves off the holiday hangovers 🙂

  33. Katie on December 3, 2014 at 5:10 pm

Taking time for myself and just having some quiet time reading my Bible or calling my sister for a chat keeps me balanced during this time of year.

I absolutely love Barre 3! I have been doing their online workouts for almost a year now and i just can’t get enough. Something that keeps me balanced is my weekly yoga sessions. I am mostly a runner and love pilates and barre, but yoga 2-3 x’s a week really helps me refocus my attention when I’m going crazy over what to make for my christmas party and what to purchase for gifts 🙂

  46. Jess on December 3, 2014 at 5:35 pm

Exercising in general keeps me balanced. During holidays it’s especially important to squeeze it in.

  50. Sara on December 3, 2014 at 5:43 pm

Right now, the vacation I’m taking in January is getting me through the busy holidays – I’m looking forward to sitting in the sun and relaxing. Whenever I start to get stressed out about getting everything done, I stop and think about how nice it will be and it helps me keep my cool.
